Is this game crashing every 3 minutes for anyone else? I can't seem to play this anymore..
In the profile settings(the same file with the mouse setting I think) turn off AlphaToCoverage. Even Nvidia suggested turning it off in there rundown thing they do.
Didn't do a thing for me.. same 50 fps
I am really fucking confused by FC4 MP. Just gave it a shot and I have no idea how I manage my loadouts, how far I am to getting new stuff, and what/where I spend the coins I get on. I like the asymmetrical aspect of it, but it feels like in outpost mode, most of the level is useless. Demon Mask is p fun imo.

You can manage your loadouts by opening the menu from the main screen, you'll see an option that says something like "Manage Multiplayer Loadouts" or the like. [editline]23rd November 2014[/editline] One thing I like is that they made Pagan Min's side the ones using the bow and such, and the Golden Path are the ones who use the guns and vehicles. Most games would make the "Good" guys the ones who are the natural/spiritual side and the "Bad" guys use the technology.

They don't even really have a good icon for it. As far as unlock progression goes: It's really fucking quick. 1 coin for any weapon, 1 coin for any attachment, and 1 coin for any skill. Not entirely sure how I feel about that. Considering you can get like 7 coins in a good round, at least right now it seems like getting everything I want won't really be a challenge at all. I sort of liked the decrypting thing from Far Cry 3 where you would get special weapons and stuff.

Did I just get saved by a goddamn yeti?
Has anyone figured out what part of the FOV slider is closest to 90 FOV?

would this break co op though?
would this break co op though?
Apparently it will / does because of the editing of files it will probably verify. You could just use the fix for single-player play and then revert to your backups for multiplayer too, as annoying as that might be.
what about two people using the same exact fix?
Why would it matter?
Did I just get saved by a goddamn yeti?
It was Amita's true form.
The coop is so hilariously buggy. Like I joined someone for a bit, he wanted to do an assassination mission. So we get there and half the time the guy we are after doesn't show up. He's supposed to drive up in a truck and get out. Instead he refused to show up at all half the time. At one point I went inside a building to try and scout a bit. I got seen through two walls by a guy. Also, my weapon ammo count kept resetting to if I had no ammo bags. And Sniper Rifles just do not work. The end game one that you get that kills everything in one shot to the head and most things in one body shot, it regularly just does not kill enemies. It usually kills enemies on headshots, but if I hit them in the chest, even the low level ones with out body armor, they will act as if nothing happened by they will damn sure be alerted to me presence. [editline]24th November 2014[/editline] In another game my health was stuck at one health bar, it would not heal above that. In another, every time my character did something that required he put his weapon away, he'd always pull out the C4 when he pulled his weapon back out. I had one where I could fall from any height and take no damage. Pagan's Wrath convoys literally do not show up whatsoever. In any game. I was with a guy when we ran in to one. He got out and started fighting with them, he was shooting, taking shots, all that. But for me there was no one there, no vehicles, no gunfire coming at me. So it looked like Ajay was just having a psychotic breakdown and fighting enemies that weren't real.
i was co oping and the other dude was in a car. except the car wasn't in my game. so he was jumping around at insane speeds and ran me over in an invisible car a couple times
because he wants to play coop too?
No, I mean the change to the file means that he either will be able to play coop or he will not. How many people used this fix is irrelevant
Had this gifted to me out of nowhere two days ago. Idk what the general concensus is, but I'm fucking loving this game. Sans the recent trend of Ubisoft games being buggy as dick, the game is the perfect Far Cry game imo. Quick question though. Is there a way to equip the repair tool without being near a busted vehicle? It's like a lil useful ass infinite flamethrower (you can start huge brushfires with it) and I'd love to use it for distractions and see if it can actually hurt people.

But the capturing towers, clearing outposts thing really becomes stale after the first 5. All the re-used animations from FC3 is pretty bad, too. I mean it isn't broken, but at least put some new ones into a new game. Come on. The graphical side of FC4 is really nice, I cannot complain one bit about that. The story for what I've done so far, is alright. It doesn't really make itself known of which side is doing the better cause, I see Sabal trying to go down the true "Golden Path" while Amita is just trying to save people and win it my a intellect stance. When I'd much rather just join Pagan Min, and hunt down rebel leaders, destroy their convoys, make drugs, do drugs, burn shit, ride in on a helicopter and mow down baddies. Or have someone drive the truck for me while I'm on that fiddy going, "DUDU DUD DU DUD" cause lets be honest the fucking sound of that fitty(not the fast shooting MG), but the fitty on the truck, HNGGG. Although the Shangri-La visits are quite awesome as well, gives a little bit of variant to the regular crap. As well as Yogie&Reggie. I dislike Longanus, and Amita. Sabal seems alright. FUCK THE GOLDEN PATH RADIO ANNOUNCER. Holy FUCK, every same god damn broadcast every same damn time. Fuck you, man. Fuck the guy who rode in on an elephant, fuck your LALALAL music. DAMNIT.
So is it just me or did the main story seem really short compared to fc3? Felt like after [sp] you bust into the north [/sp] the story rushes to the finish without really explaining anything [sp]pagans epilogue aside[/sp]
I too also wonder why they did not add an option to simply turn off the radio. I could have sword they had that option in FC2/3. Or did they just not have radios? But yeah, I was in coop and i just got into a supply truck and holy fuck some of the most obnoxious, irritating music in the universe began slamming from the speakers of the radio. Even my friend could hear it outside the truck and he was like 100ft behind me. Another small thing that grinds my gears is how fucking stupidly Ubi has made the burst firing mechanic for rifles. It's been that way since FC2 and it has to be the most fucking retarded thing ever. What possible benefit would forcing the player to hold the trigger down for a full burst provide? Generally in shooters the advantage of using a burst fire rifle is that they are more accurate, and the burst is pretty quick meaning you can put 3 med/low damage shots on target easily and who gives a shit if you overkill by a round or two? Nope not in FC2/3/4! You have to hold the trigger down for a full half second in order to get all 3 rounds out because clearly, that is a unique take on the traditional burst firing mechanic. [editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
So is it just me or did the main story seem really short compared to fc3? I looked at my progress and realized that I had completed 8/32 main quest missions. What the hell.
What possible benefit would forcing the player to hold the trigger down for a full burst provide?
I think that's a great way to handle bursts. The point of burst fire is actually to automate a short, controlled series of shots instead of having to pull the trigger three times. It's like full-auto, just capped at 3 shots after which you have to pull the trigger again. If you want a single shot while being in burst mode, you just pull the trigger quickly.
I can't be the only person that wanted to nuke the Golden Path and work for Min, right? There was no one I actually like that were the "good" guys except maybe the stoners. Sabal and Amita were so easy to hate for me that it wasn't funny. I wished that 15 minute ending was canon and you and Min became bros from the beginning and just shot guns. Aside from that, I enjoyed it. The game was FC3 but improved upon.
i was co oping and the other dude was in a car. except the car wasn't in my game. so he was jumping around at insane speeds and ran me over in an invisible car a couple times
Slightly related, but that reminds me of something that happened when i played coop with my BF. He was hosting, and we were running through one of the missions, except his game lost track of me and let me run in one direction far outside of the map. But on my screen, i was still running around perfectly fine even though he saw me run into a wall or something. Aparently enemies in FC3, maybe even FC4? are tied to the host's game, so they could not see me, but i could shoot them. Was fun as fuck until i did a melee takedown and the games synced up. I even recorded it so now i have that moment saved forever.

I'd like a standalone expansion which would take the Min path, especially taking the story into account after you actually know it. Ubisoft likes making games from scraps of it's other games (Blood Dragon, Freedom Cry) so there's that.
I managed to get SweetFX working with FC4, a lot of people were having issues with it and the only way to get it working with FC was to use Radeon Pro, which only works with AMD cards. This version should work with all, including Nvidia cards. Kyrat just got a whole lot prettier.
I too also wonder why they did not add an option to simply turn off the radio.
You can it is -(minus) on the keyboard to turn the radio off, you do have to do it every time you get in a vehicle however.
