Dying during a mission and respawning almost next to the next objective is such bullshit.
Also I accidentally killed myself and some golden path dude because he walked next to me when I stepped in a buzzer and he held his bazooka in the rotor :v:
Shadowplay is the best thing ever. [vid]http://a.pomf.se/lqxkug.webm[/vid]
So I just got the game. I have a weird problem.
The trees are all displayed as 2Dish things that look great from one angle but are basically flat from the side. Why is this? What do I do about this? I've literally tweaked every setting.
There is a rifle firing .700 Nitro in this game.
Rhinos and elephants better fuck right out of Kyrat before I get my dirty hands on that thing.
My game is still 1.5.0, did they roll it back or just halt it on anyone who didn't have 1.6.0 yet?
I'm still on 1.6, so it's either intentional or something on Ubisoft's side.
Okay.
The piece of shit that designed 'City Of Pain' and decided to make it a mandatory story mission needs to have a barbed-wire baseball bat shoved up their ass sideways.
Fuck that fucking mission. Fuck it.
I'm so damn close to smashing my controller right now.
[editline]FUCK THIS SHIT[/editline]
Ohhhh my fucking god. I have never EVER had to retry a mission in any game i've ever played this many times and i still haven't completed it.
[editline]FUCKIN FINALLY[/editline]
[sp]Just got into North Kyrat[/sp], 15 hours in, and about a quarter of that was spent on that damn mission.
That was infinitely worse than 'ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN CJ'

My game updated to 1.6 yesterday, runs a little worse.

Oh my god, THIS. I did that mission earlier and I wanted to just pull out a grenade launcher and nuke the place.
The first part was painful as well, the game failed me right as I was getting into the truck.
Fuck me, stealth in this game is worse than Payday 2's.
I HATE THE DAMN CITY OF PAIN.
Spent about an hour or two just getting the first two hostages, then trying multiple times again to get the next one. I wish it didn't just start over at the stupid truck whenever you failed. UGH
Its strange people having problems with City of Pain, it gave me almost no issues.
Its strange people having problems with City of Pain, it gave me almost no issues.
It's seriously jarring when you've been playing the entire game guns-blazing and suddenly you're forced to change your playstyle out of nowhere
I played the whole thing stealthing it as much as possible so it really wasn't much of a difference for me really.
Yeah I love being super stealthy, I often throw myself off a cliff if I get detected during a mission so I can try again.
[editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
Which brings me to another small issue: I want a "restart mission" button.
[editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
Sniping makes this game too easy. It's also convenient that enemy snipers have this big red line pointing right at where they are. They pose no extra threat that way. The AI is really bad, in the sense that you can headshot an entire outpost and they'll just be like "Oh I'm gonna check out my mates body who just got his head blown off out of nowhere. Also no reason to cause an alarm, only if it's Ajay."
[editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
That's my only issue with this game, it holds your hand too much (as has been said before in this thread). It's fun, but too easy.
Oh wow, amazing...
Just finished the game. [sp]Sided with Amita after a bit, because I hate theocracies. Killed Pagan first chance I got, because I was afraid I'd get tricked and killed, or else that doing otherwise would make Ajay join him or something.
Now I find out that Sabal AND Amita are just assholes in the end, so just like the last game, I no longer give a shit about anything, because everyone is an irredeemable bastard that kills apostates, trains child soldiers, and equally oppresses everyone.
I guess I feel more for the Golden Path members than the Rakyat, who just felt like cultists in the end, but is this just a "thing" in Far Cry? Is everyone in the Far Cry games just an asshole in disguise?
I fucking hate that. I hate that I can't root for, or empathize with ANYONE in the end. I can't even root for myself, because these games take all the good you're doing and make out like you're some desocialized psychopath, when all you've been doing is trying to make people's lives less like hell, by killing people that deserve it. Yeah, because you kill people that rape and pillage innocents, you're somehow barely better than them.
Fuck off, game. There's moral ambiguity, and then there's telling the player what their own motivation is. Instead of making me think, it just pisses me off because the only thing I'll ever play this game for is the stealthy run-n'-gun action and the RPG elements.[/sp]
[s p][/s p] tags bro. No spaces.
Just finished the game myself as well....honestly for all the flak the games story gets I thought it was amazing; kept me intrigued the entire way through. Characterization was done well too IMO: [sp]Amita and Sabal's descent into extremism and the reason Pagan Min resorted to tyranny were all handled well I feel.[/sp]
But really, I feel this game is a pretty blatant critique/analysis of the ongoing Arab Spring revolutions (specifically Syria). Golden Path feels like a mixup of the Free Syrian Army and ISIS (Amita/Sabal) and Pagan Min's extravagant luxurious lifestyle and personality in a way mirrors that of Bashar al-Assad, same with their armies oppressing and committing crimes against their own civilians . Hell, they even referenced U.S. CIA involvement in the conflict and whether or not they were funding the good guys or bad guys as well.
I guess the moral of Far Cry 4's story is in the end terrorists and tyrants aren't so different.
In the end I [sp] let Pagan go [/sp] :v:, just to be contrarian and piss everyone off.
In the end I [sp] let Pagan go [/sp] :v:, just to be contrarian and piss everyone off.
[sp]I let him go because he was a funny guy. That and I suspect he wasn't nearly as delirious as Sabal was, whom was my original choice.[/sp]
I like Pagan, for me the true ending [sp]is waiting 15 minutes for him to come back.[/sp]

Is it possible to tag enemies in SP like it was in FC3?
Is it possible to tag enemies in SP like it was in FC3?
Yeah do exactly the same thing as FC3
Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with the first Shangri-La Mission, after I get up to the chained bell the game always crashes, changing the graphics had no effect and I tried verifying the game files as well, to no avail. Does anyone else have this problem, if so is there a way to fix it?
Got this game with a new graphics card. Why is the sound so muffled. It's not very clear. Like the voice acting in gameplay scenes in the third one, but here it's even more bad.
Any fix?
Does anyone have performance issues with the map editor?
Running 90% of the settings on high in game with 50+ fps, but in the editor im getting 20-25 FPS on quality without placing a single object or altering any geometry. It also keeps freezing from time to time and whenever I click any buttons
I can't get past the first mission where you go to Shangri-La because the game crashes on the loading screen and always loads back to the start of that mission when I replay it. What do I do to at least make it load the area once I read the scroll thing by the statue?
Probably been mentioned, but I heard a hostage when I untied him go " That escalated quickly! Like, that really got out of hand!"
Lot of pop culture references in this.
Any fix for the dual core issue

Turn down sampling rate of your soundcard
Finally finished downloading it.
So much better than FC3. Like the menus? No more 15 menus to read an entry in the journal or to craft something.
I just find it more fun overall as well. Like I was in the helicopter thing (which I didn't even know was in game) and started pursuing a cargo truck with that. A Golden Path truck was close behind. I eventually managed to pull ahead of the Cargo Truck and killed the driver. The out of nowhere some of Pagan's men come out of some trees and I'm taking cover behind the Cargo Truck. Killed them and made my escape.
10/10
