I "encountered" my first stalker yesterday, I noticed the lights flickering and my teammates getting butchered while I was chilling at the exfil point. They didn't write anything until I asked them what took them so long, shortly after that the stalker killed its mark and poofed.

From what a friend has told me, it depends mostly on its level, but a good advice would be to run and try to get to the exit before you're killed if you feel that you're ill-equipped to handle it.
Also, it makes the lights flicker for all in the team, the target receives message popups similar to what bosses do. So if you see the lights flicker, don't just think "huh, odd" like me, tell your group to stick together and not run off if you want to fight it.

Depends on what gear you have, I can empty a couple of clips from my twin vipers and he's done before he can start moving.

When I last met him solo it was in an orokin tower, in the long room where you can wallrun into that small room with 4 lockers
I just went there and realized he didn't follow me in and filled him with arrows

Aww yeah, got this yesterday.
Yesterday I did a bunch of tower 3 exterminations as well. I almost ran out of boltor ammo on one. Got all the way through just to get a Frost Prime BP, not one of the parts for it, Reaper or Latron Prime. Also, only able to sell it for the standard 2500 creds. Fortunately one of the other ones dropped the Reaper BP, and another the reciever for Latron Prime. Getting a bit tired of having to fight bullet sponges, because I'm not getting any xp because all my equipment is level 30.
Also, probably gonna use my forma from the alert on my boltor.
