Armor Piercing is an elemental damage type, and as such some mobs are more susceptible to it than others.

I love my Ash. I potato'ed it and also used a forma on it.

I think it's more along the lines of the fact that the XP can't be saved and used later. If all your weapons and frames are maxed or similar, then it's wasted, like all of mine was. If I was able to save it and use it later. I wouldn't mind.
It would be nice if there were resource rewards. Especially if they were ones that are annoying to farm.

Sonar and Sound Quake are the skills you need.
Add some Shields, energy mods, max range and damage and you're set.
