I just watched a fight between three underleveled tenno, a bunch of grineer lancers, the stalker, and five desert skates.
The desert skates won. Then I mopped up the survivors.
I wanna try the Hikou with max Gunslinger and Lethal Torent. Probably will look like Sonics feet.
Also Ogris with max Speed Trigger and Shred is gonna be awesome.

hello hi hello I'm trying to get into this game and I don't understand this weapon modding thing for shit, but that's not the problem - I can't solo the first boss, I keep running around him in an infinite loop of me slicing him with a sword but nothing ever happens to him

That be the problem right there. You need the weapons mods to do a lot of damage to the boss. However before you can mod your weapons, the weapons themselves need to level up.
is modding my weapons somehow related to the boss being invincible
what am I supposed to do with my shooty shot-shot if using it is just as ineffective

Holy shit. My last two matches were insane. One was a solo sabotage mission against Corpus. I've never seen so many drones before. There were literally more drones than Moa's.
Then the second mission was sabotage against Infected. That was almost as ridiculous. Enter a room only to be greeted by 7 Ancient healers.

The first boss has been sorta heavily messed with recently, he's way more difficult than he has any right to be for new players. It especially sucks because you're stuck in Mercury until you beat him.

I eneded up with 14 Barrels, 2 Chasis, 3 Handles and 6 blue prints for the Miter.

Usually I always make room for an armor piercing mod. And Ice Storm is a great mod as well.
Armor piercing is key. Also, 180% multishot? Mmyes.

This happened to my friends and I once back when we were all low level and only had our starting frames and Bratons and Latos and Skanas and they all healed faster than we could hurt them and we never beat the mission because they fucking chased our asses down.
Though I think it was only 6 of them.
Lech Kril's ice pack wouldn't break, so after shooting it for about 20 minutes straight lotus said it was OK for us to just extract and leave:v:
