Build it for crits and it is a brilliant weapon. And if you're gonna get it, get it now. Its gonna be mastery locked down the line so if you get it now you don't need to worry about that.
You can get quite the hefty amount of salvage and rubedo when you level gear on Kappa.
I made every non-prime weapon and warframe pre-U10, and was just focused on leveling a lot of stuff and because of that, I almost have as much salvage as I do nano spores.
Soma is almost as good as Ogris, and you cant kill yourself with it.

Finally got my Rhino Chassis back and I've got it and the Helmet building. Just need a Control Module and some Plastids for the Systems.
So is the glaive is a viable weapon now?
I don't have a glaive, but I got a bunch of the mods from some void runs. I'll let you know if I ever get around to building it.

The glaive was always viable, people simply didn't use it because CC melee weapons are pretty much the only thing worth using after level 45. With the damage changes and being able to either use it for multiple bounce-on-bounce CC stun or direct single target damage with the new mods respectively, it's a lot more versatile.
The caveat is that if you're using it for a secondary replacement weapon because it's ranged, of course it's going to come up short, just like every other melee weapon.
