They're assuming one of them is the new frame
...But the new frame clearly has Corpus tech on her. Even if the outcome did have an effect on our warframe acquisition, it would be gotten through working with the corpus, because she wouldn't exist as an experiment at all if we saved them. Also, if the Corpus win, we'd likely get new enemy Tenno as well.
However, we [B]KNOW[/B] the rewards for the winning side. Not a single mention of it affecting anything, at least we knew if we lost the Phobos event, there wouldn't be a planet for us to find.
How can anyone be stupid enough to think they wouldn't release content if a specific side didn't win an event? As long as they make money off new frames they're gonna keep releasing new frames.

Because tinfoil hat posts in Reddit, there was a huge thread on reddit's warframe page where some nutjob convinced the entire reddit that DE would scrap the entire warframe if Corpus won the event. Because DE is totally going to spend money and resources on designing a warframe, but oh wait the community picked Corpus, so we'll just scrap it entirely, forget about all the labor hours and money we spent and now have no way to make money off potential platinum sells.

I have no idea why anyone would want the Machete and pistol. The Machete is not a great weapon, or of a great type of melee weapon. And we already have the fucking Seer Grineer handcannon.

The original machete was awful to begin with, so I don't see why people would want another version of it

This its either always reddit or Somethingawful, thought usually SA are smarter, less bandwagon, lynch mob mentality and come out on top from careful planning. Reddit on the other hand just uses mob mentality and hopes they have more numbers. Though overall it doesn't help that most players may only pick the side that has the better battle pay item, and so far I believe ALL the battles except one for Corpus were credits. Gonna do 80 more corpus missions and see how it turns out.

I was going for Grineer originally because Corpus are greedy fucks that will backstab you the first chance they get. But those Corpus weapons are sexy as fuck.

Still Corpus are massive asshats.
The machete will be bad because of reasons beside just the stats. It's got an awful moveset and only hits a maximum of two, and only when you're lucky.
Normally I'd agree, but since we haven't seen the heavy combo yet, I can't defer to anything definitive, and the standard Prova isn't exactly setting the world on fire with its awesomeness. I used it for three missions during quad XP weekend and will never be equipping it again, that's for damn sure.

It doesn't really matter, and I doubt he'd cut them up. According to lore, the Tenno are just warriors, they can't remember anything else, so he'll just probably wake them up and tell them to fight for him, just like the Lotus does.
Cutting your new friends up is best way to get know each other.
