So for someone who has until now just kinda played the game without being really involved in the community and doesn't know a ton about the lore, what the hell is going on? Corpus and Grineer are fighting and you have to pick a side, I get that bit. But after that I have no clue. Like I have no clue about what is involved, what the win conditions are, what the rewards are, anything.

Corpus are hiding Tenno in cryopods and cutting them up for some "Zanuka" Project. Grineer found out, want in and decided to take all Corpus territory.
Fight for Corpus, you prevent Grineer from expanding while allowing the Corpus to continue their project.
Fight for Grineer, you save Tenno while helping to expand totalitarian Grineer empire.
Support Grineer/Corpus and you get a beefed up faction melee weapon and 2ndary handcannon. If you didn't support Grineer/Corpus, you get a BP for said handcannon stolen from faction.

What I find interesting about the event is that Ruk and Alad see the Tenno as inorganic things. I guess our speculation about them being machines was right

Yeah if you side with the corpus Ruk will sometimes say he'll make Alad bleed out of his eyes by smashing him with our metal corpse if you side with the Corpus.
They really need to add more lore about the Tenno, because all we know is that we play as mute metal people that were sleeping and now need to maintain the balance in the solar system. Also how do they put on the suits?

We had a good speculation a few months back but it makes sense for there not to be real flesh and blood humans in there considering that each frame has a unique physique and sex

i kind of doubt that they're fully human though, since as far as i know all the helmets require neural sensors to make, which would imply that they've modified their bodies to accept that if nothing else. plus a bunch of the warframe mods directly give you abilities you just didn't have before.

Also, I assumed that they were human in some form because you can see actual flesh on the female hostage. Then again, I don't know if they're supposed to be Tenno or not I just assume they are.

So Koi ponds are basically stripper cages
maybe they just don't ever leave their frames once they get in it. you get hurt by vacuum and toxic gasses so it's not a closed-circuit oxygen system, and they don't take them off when they're in the dojo, plus they went to cryo sleep in them. maybe they're just permanently linked up to it by the neural sensors, like with the Nanosuit in Crysis

Pretty much and also there are "wisps" in gardens these days so I guess Tennos could be weird wisps that control Warframes.
