I think it was decided before even that, when some of the bigger clans decided to go with the Grineer. I'm pretty sure nothing short of platinum for the Corpus vs literal potatoes for the Grineer could have turned things around.
That and DE seems to prefer Grineer over pretty much any of the other factions.

i'd say that falls under the event being poorly planned. the actual framework is really good and fun, it's the lack of content and thought that's causing the problems

Favoring the Grineer first lead to all the rushers to put so many runs into grineer that they it would have been dumb for them to switch.
Hell I barely want to run 100 times for the corpus, I sure as hell aren't going to run it 100 times just to get the grineer stuff.
The worst thing is, there really hasn't been any acknowledgement from DE that they screwed this up hard.
At this point I don't think they really can without looking like they're backpedalling hard, they knew the Grineer would win from the start.
all they have to do is not penalise people for being on the losing side, and give everyone who did the missions the same rewards, that way you don't have people going 'oh well corpus is screwed, grineer time' and creating a vicious cycle

Well there's Fridays livestream so hopefully they will acknowledge the faults of the event and answer questions, since it is a Q&A stream.

Honestly all they have to do is reward the Corpus supporters with the Corpus weapons, and the Grineer supporters with the Grineer weapons.
It doesn't make a lot of sense for us to receive any reward from the Grineer if we support the Corpus.

If they do that, I hope they give us some time in advance. I switched sides, but I'd still really rather have the Corpus gun.

I think it would be fine if the losing side only got the bp for their gun, instead of the full gun with potato and slot. It does kind of suck that the only unique things you get for supporting the losing side are a badge and maybe a clan statue.

Well, not anything. And also there's the fact that the forma is more effective if you use it on a gun that's already good instead of one that needs forma to be good.
Supra clears waves if you supercharge it. I put max AP, serration, wildfire, crit chance or crit damage, and multishot on mine and everything dies up until level 100's start to show up
I don't really see the point of forma'ing up the ignis, the ignis is already the best weapon for low levels And at high levels I have the ogris to do its job. I can't see the ignis working at high levels, (level 40+) even with forma.

There's a very clear distinction between usability and effectiveness in WF and forma exacerbates that gap, not closes it.
Just because a weapon gives you sentimental tinglies in your nether regions doesn't mean that forma will turn it into a bullet hose. Quite the opposite.

I've seen the Supra do it without needing 5 forma. Being not quite as good as a specifically tweaked Synapse doesn't mean it isn't still one of the most overpowered pieces of shit in the game.
Wonder what 5 forma'd Synapse + Volt's shield can do. Cut the ship in half?

I doubt it, as others have said, all other event items have never been brought back in game, so whatever comes in this event, that's probably it and if you don't do all the missions, then probably won't even see it again.

This past event.
Its been a drama filled/rigged event where you pick corpus or grineer and get a lot of stuff from them.
Ends in 2 days, and you missed most of the good stuff.
Mainly whats been given are clantech mats, like Fieldron (a lot of fieldron), detonite, mutagen, a few potatoes were given too.
