If playing online run around and keep marking it and let others to shoot it while it only tries to kill you.
The bad thing about stalker is that he's made for those people who double their health and shields with mods, so he does tons of damage to counter it. Why would DE allow people to double their health and shields in the first place? I don't use those mods, and I'm surviving fine.
Also, I managed to find a good color choice on my valkyr before I maxed and sold her:

i don't know if you've reached late game, because you need that shield buff. grineer shield lancers tear through your shields in seconds even at level 18.
