I haven't played this since the Oberon update, is there any cool updates?
Should I even bother with keeping serration on my synapse? It already does constant crits and high crit damage

A couple new weapons. As far as frames/tilesets/melee 2.0 it's all "right around the corner"
You know what could be cool for invasions? Boss invasions, where you fight alongside a boss during an invasion, and they fight with you against another boss.

So after Finally getting Alad V'; personal "You're a dead man" letter I decided to side with the corpus for an invasion and MY GOD!
These guys really don't cut corners when it comes to getting shit done, you spawn with about 3 normal moas and two shockwave, fusion, and railgun moas and a few ospreys, Plus plenty of crewman fodder. The invading Grineer usually died before you could aim down your weapon sights.
The only BAD part is when you move from the corpus ship to the grineer ship, you teleport aboard and the moa's don't follow you... and due to a quirk in the spawning system and that tile, the next corridor is filled with all the enemies you'd expect for the next five tiles... so thats about 3 heavy gunners, 3-5 bombards 3-5 naplams, a bunch of shields and lancers and a few scorpions to pull you into that deadly deadly mix.
Still, when you're valkyr and have 100 enegry ready to go... these things are not a problem.

The grineer are usually the same way, have you [I]seen[/I] the number of napalms that spawn with you? It's an annoying amount!
I know exactly what spawn bug you're talking about; I just sat back, aimed down the hall, and shot arrows until I was out of ammo. It was great because that hall is not really that wide, so I was essentially grineer bowling with whoever walked in front.

I don't know what I did to appease the RNG gods, but in a few hours of running invasion and normal defense missions as I was leveling my Soma, I got enough bits to make 2 Detrons. And yesterday evening I decided to try and get the components for a Nova and all of them dropped over the span of an hour.
I used up all my RNG credits ever.
Aaand now I want an AkDetron.

My friend got Nova in three runs. I can't get my Valkyr Systems after 15th retry.

It took me 20-30 runs (I can't fukken remeber it was so many) to get valkyr systems. In my efforts to get the control modules to build valkyr I ran Raptor and got ALL Nova's parts in THREE tries.

He's still really easy, just a little less so. Funniest thing ever was one time we all ran out to where he spawns to wait, he starts, and we kill him in two seconds. Then somehow one of us launches his body clean out of the arena in to the void, and Zanuka comes running over for a moment trying to find him, then just ran off and disappeared. We had to go hunting her down to finish the mission.

Valkyr can actually be quite decent, if you can get streamline and power duration up high enough. Doing survival is essentially just chaining hysteria after hysteria and laughing at the bullets pinging off your BURNING RAGE

On infested defence missions Valkyr can stay in hysteia forever even without mods and just walk round the objective constantly punching.
While using hysteria Grineer units are so much fun. Shields just push you back, you don't get knocked over... "THAT LITTLE METAL WALL PANEL WONT SAVE YOU!"
Scorpions just pull you into a large group of grineer... while' you're invincible and melee range is an instant death zone for anything... Good job scorpion! you got one!
Loki is still best.

Why they decided to give an ability that deals damage based on your shields to the frame with the least shields I will NEVER know.
It's only redeeming feature is that because of the LOW cost you can spam it like mad to rank valkyr up faster
