The Oxium osprey is definitely not uncommon. I see dozens of them in missions. The higher the mission level, the more they spawn.
30-50 Oxium per mission is perfectly doable (I got the event requirement in, I believe, one exterminate and 2 mobile defense runs).
This is the same (% wise) rate at which other resources drop versus their amounts required per construction/research.
A mobile defense mission takes about 12-15 minutes. Assuming a worst-case of 15 minutes at about 30 Oxium per run, it comes down to 20 runs for the 600 Oxium Zephyr requires, or about 6 hours.
With proper gear, a decent team and a bit of luck, you are looking at about 4 hours to get the required Oxium.
Taking into account the time you'll be spending as a clan researching in the first place, you can probably spread those 4-6 hours over 9 days, which comes down to 1 or 2 runs per day, so not a lot.
Assuming that everyone contributes a little Oxium to the research, you can easily fund the entire chain with a few runs a day across the entire clan.
Saying it only drops from 1/3rd of the levels makes no sense, since you don't pick the levels at random. If you want Oxium, you'd only pick the levels that have it. Same thing applies to every other resource, why would this be different for Oxium?
People make the same mistake with primes (at least before the loot table changes in U12), which is running towers over and over and over to get the parts. Instead, just run them for their game-play, or to level stuff or just gather various mods/loot.
If you approach it that way, you'll be swimming in resources. The same thing applies to Oxium.
If you don't play it for the game, but for the grind that you don't enjoy, why are you playing?
I'm not trying to say GTFO, I'm asking you to consider where you get the enjoyment from. If it's playing with a new piece of gear, why not build something different and play with that while you wait?
If you really feel you are bothered by the grind (which, despite all my comments, it definitely is, true), perhaps just... take a break?
I stopped playing right before the Iron Skin nerf and came back and enjoy it much more now.
It's not like the new gear is Soma-levels of overpowered, there is no need to have it to keep up with the top-tier content.
I'm not arguing that Zephyr requires more work to get. I'm just saying it's not an unreasonable amount and that it's more evenly distributed across the playerbase.
Is there any plan on getting the other warframe recipes in the tenno lab? I have every part on Banshee except the systems I think :v:

The only thing I don't like being as hard to get as they are, are formas. But even then, it makes sense and it's not like they're locked behind a paywall. I could chain tower runs and hope for some while I'm shooting for treasure rooms and Prime parts.

I had some issues in the Ties That Bind alert. It seemed to be dropping considerably faster than normal, and I even have Focus in to make my Stomp and Iron Skin more efficient for their cost. Admittedly I was kinda being a jackass by mostly just casually killing without worrying about cover, but still. It used to last considerably longer.
Iron Skin seems to be stuck in a cycle of being buffed then being nerfed as soon as DE realizes they just made Rhino into a viable tanking frame.
