I made Ash recently and i've really enjoyed him so far but he's, imo, super frail and his Blade Storm is very, very weak.

It's already been discussed on /v/ countless times.
It's a pain to quickly draw a blade, and prepare a proper stance while it's bent upwards.
And the blade might be a Tachi, which IIRC were worn bent down.
Edit:
Also, take note, the only reason Sam has his katana bent downwards is to be able to quickly sheathe and unsheathe it.
It's impossible to make most of these fast moves having readjust the sword in your arm just to take a swing.
