honestly the port isn't even that bad once you get it working. it's the getting there that's the trouble [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] GTA IV isn't even really that bad of a port either. you want a terrible port? try lego batman. that game is literally unplayable on most machines
Anyone else prefer Extinction mode to zombies?
Or better yet play a real competitive game CoD isn't a hard game and you're just kidding yourself if you think you're fully sikk mlg by playing it competitive
CoD1, CoD2, and CoD4 all had fairly popular competitive communities and events. You have a lot of the bloat out of the newer games but CoD is easily one of the more competitive shooters on the market when you look at it bare-bones.
Anyone else prefer Extinction mode to zombies?
Haven't really played it much. Tried it solo it was fun but couldn't get anyone into my game it kept not finding any players. I actually want them to go back to WW2. All these FUTURE WARFARE shit going on I want the old CODs back. Especially this mission from cod 1. Oh my god. THIS MAP
Some MSBS gameplay and talk about squad points and field operations... This MSBS is just like the M16 from cod 4...if not even more powerful and with the full auto attachment it can do some serious damage!
Jesus christ having a high FoV makes the game look ugly as fuck. [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] And ridiculous, it stretches out the animations and it looks so dumb.
THIS MAP
I remember how hard this part was, took me a while to get in and out alive. If this map was made today you would probably be hiding behind a wall waiting for your comrades to clear the area in a minute and then allow you to proceed... no fun.

From the close-quarters inside the buildings, to picking off players within or running around from the debris and walls strewn about. And now i'm remembering how overpowered the PPSh42 was.
team fortress is also a point and click too isn't it [sp]also, is that the reason you have almost 200 hours in Black Ops II Multiplayer[/sp]
no, i actually enjoyed black ops 2.
Implying Ghosts is original You didn't address my statement anyway, all you did was fling insults and say "but cod is popular" CoD is a fun casual game but if you're complaining about how the "competitive" crowd need to ban half the stuff available then I don't know what you expected because the game is designed for the casual crowd in mind. You could argue Smash has the same situation too but there isn't much like Smash and people use techniques that weren't really intended from the original game design which raises the skill cap. CoD just takes the FPS formula and makes it easy to play. If you want a barebones no bullshit CoD competitive experience then Promod on CoD4 is your best bet. Clinging onto Mountain Dew Doritos MLG Ghosts is a fruitless venture.
like reload cancelling or hitting the ladder with your knife to ready your weapon faster after climbing or headglitching even though the nomenclature is wrong or quickscoping even though it's retarded.
like reload cancelling or hitting the ladder with your knife to ready your weapon faster after climbing or headglitching even though the nomenclature is wrong or quickscoping even though it's retarded.
Every game has it's little tricks and none of those mentioned really add to the skill cap of the game. I don't even think people quick scope in "competitive" CoD, not to mention you can do it in other games and it seems like the only people who care about no/quick/somewhere inbetween scoping are kids who have had too much Red Bull. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline]
On a side note, what constitutes a "real" competitive game for you? I'd like to know, since you seem to be insulting my choice in FPS [sp] and me to an extent but I'll let that slide[/sp].
A game that takes a relative amount of skill to play to start with. "Skill" is a subjective term yes but there are many other shooters such as Quake or Counter-Strike that are harder to play and henceforth are better competitive games, I guess "E-Sport" can be also referred to but games like Counter-Strike, DotA, Starcraft and Street Fighter 4 have a much higher skill floor and cap compared to arcade shooters like CoD and there really isn't that much of a comparison. Even though I mentioned Smash, not everyone really accepts it has a competitive Fighting Game but it has it's moments. CoD has the viewers/popularity sure but it's not really accepted too well if you put it alongside other competitive games due to how low the skill cap is compared to the others, not to mention the stigma behind the community which has things like this in the so called "competitive" scene:
guy in the pink might be a clone of michael cera
I thought tournaments were held where the teams cannot communicate against each other. Like the booths they have in Starcrafts
the stigma behind the community which has things like this in the so called "competitive" scene: professional hatchet-job video
Actually some representative for the organization that ran that event said that overall it didn't represent them
An ESL spokesperson has gotten in touch about the video and, in the interests of fairness and balance, this is the organisation's take on it: "eSports events such as the recent Electronic Sports League European Finals are highly competitive and evoke a huge amount of passion and excitement among the participants. This is no different to sports such as football and rugby, where competitive spirit and banter are part of the mind games that take place between teams. The events are always conducted in a professional manner, and this film does not reflect the generally sportsmanslike behaviour we saw over the weekend."
Talking about community stigmas in regards to esports games right after praising fighting games for being top tier competitive titles is also stupid considering the fighting game community is infamously toxic with downright terrible attitudes embraced rather than discouraged.
I thought tournaments were held where the teams cannot communicate against each other. Like the booths they have in Starcrafts
Depends on the tournament. I've seen Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 tournies where the players are sitting at the same desk, teams opposite of eachother, while other tournaments might have the teams at separate desks across the room.

Sure, Call of Duty (and Halo, to an extent) are kinda easy to get into, but there IS a measure of skill and challenge that goes into the game. When I go and play Team Death match, I tend to wipe the floor. Why? I play smart, much like how a person plays Street Fighter. I know the zonings, I know where and when to shoot, or throw a grenade. I know where all the hot spots are, where people tend to be, and I can usually guess where people are on the map at any given point. It's for this reason that I do see CoD as a candidate for an e-sport, albeit not one that I frequently play. When you get into the competitive tier of players, where everyone knows the ins and outs of the game in its entirity, it's almost no different than playing Counter-Strike with additional guns, attachments, and the ability to sprint. [sp]Also, competitive Halo is played a lot like Quake, where people move fast, work in teams, fight for power weapons and power-ups, and you don't have a radar to fall back on. It's not too much different in that regard.[/sp] And seriously, there's plenty of videos out there where I see people rage in Street Fighter, Counter Strike, and other assorted tournaments. Sore losers and loud players are not just a console thing.
Reason why I don't like the throwing knife as much as the axes #13: If i miss with the knife, it bounces on the ground making loud CLANG CLANG noises, which the enemy hears, turns, and kills me.
How's the character customization bits?
How's the character bits?
you can have a gritty white guy with combat gear or a gritty black guy with combat gear or an Asian chick with combat gear or ghost from MW2. You can't fucking unlock anything else because of the dumb as fuck operations.
I want to do a Kill Confirmed operation, but I can't find any games with only 300+ people playing the gamemode.
people that rate one gun over another and are like "wow MSBS is the best gun in the game" are so full of shit. this isn't counter strike where the AK and M4 are clearly the best guns in the game because pretty much every gun class has exactly identical weapons in them. the spread, recoil and damage differences are so insignificant that it doesn't even make a difference to anybody's playstyle at all I can bumrush CQB massacre everybody with a shotgun, sure, or I can do it with a LMG too. and I'm pretty sure my vector can kill anybody and everybody at long range too so why would I ever want a sniper rifle the argument gets so old. honestly I don't know why anybody would pick any assault rifle other than the honey badger because you already get an addon built right on to it. honestly the MSBS should have a reflex sight on it since it's pretty much a TAR knockoff. the MTAR should too maybe it's just something i'm overlooking and it's not so apparent on PC but I played it online with my friend via playstation and literally everybody was having this argument. how is the MSBS better when I'm topping the scoreboard with the cbj-ms
^guns that have higher rate of fire are better
Just finished Blops 2's story. I never actually played it when it came out. Meh. Blops 1's was way better. I'll take WW2 and Cold War secrets and mind games over cyber crap any day.

I hope you don't take offense to this, but I'd like to demonstrate why the MSBS is considered so powerful. In it's most effective range, the MSBS does 55 damage per shot. That means it's a two shot kill, but it's also a very accurate burst fire weapon. With the full auto attachment, it becomes a very effect close to mid-range weapon. The claims of it being the best come from that knowledge as well as the current meta being AR-driven. It's main downfall is the poor hip spread, but that can be fixed with steady aim. By no means is it unbeatable, but if you go by stats, there's a clear advantage. To talk about the Honey Badger, it's a good gun if you run suppressor by default, but that only means it has value for a certain playstyle. I could go on for days about why certain things are effective, but it's really just an extension of your skill set and playstyle. Finding success against whats popular will always bring an advantage.
Sovereign is also growing on me. I think it'd be great 4v4.
Sovereign is also growing on me. I think it'd be great 4v4.
Wish it was in BO2. Would have loved to bounce axes around in it, and off the tanks being assembled.
ALSO Support Squadmate killstreak is the best fucking killstreak hands down. So much fun to have on. running with him on FFA is crazy.
Some guy in my lobby was prestiged (I think?) and had EVERY perk. What the fuck.
Some guy in my lobby was prestiged (I think?) and had EVERY perk. What the fuck.
IW in their infinite wisdom seem to have somehow made perks have no technical hard limit, so hacks can give you every perk available at once.
