watched the new trailer, didn't care.
game looks just like the last several cods in terms of design, graphics and textures. nothing new.
I don't feel it for the new IP thing. The MW story was entertaining at least.
Why would they take themselves seriously is beyond me. I don't care about ghosts and their haunting/revenging/revengerence. Or whatever the flip Black Ops's campaigns are.
From my one and only watch of the trailer (and a few statics on the internet), I can most definitely say that this has nothing to do with "a new engine", it's an iteration on the idtech engine they've used since forever. It's not an engine-switch, for example from idtech to Unreal, it's not an in-house engine, it's the same old GTK Radiant tools used, same old FPS counter and netgraph visible.
They'll get my precious money only if all of the bellow are met on launch (PC here):
- Dedicated servers are the only option (MW3 had servers and matchmaking, idiots didnt use servers)
- Mod support (yeah, I know.. I already lost here)
* map tools
* mod tools
- FOV (this is a necessity, but hey)
But at the end of the day, unlocks, prestiges, killstreaks is what the kiddies want.
Gone are the days of CoD2 and CoD4 ProMod and nostalgia is not tricking me out of my money this time.
There are a lot of great games coming out and will provide and respect it's user base.
I've put my eggs in the TF2 until Unreal Tournament 4 comes out basket. Then side-by-side, as far as FPS games go.

I got screwed over by MW2, which led me to not to buy any CoD games made by Infinity Ward.
The last time I asked whether Black Ops is good or not, I get dumbs instead of answers.
Not sure what I was expecting from Ghosts. The first part looked like it was set in a post apocalypse until It showed a city. Not to mention the graphics look more or less the same (didnt they say it was gonna be on a new engine?)
and im pretty sure most people care about the MP, not SP. SP was never a strong point in the CoD series anyway.

AKS-74u w/ ACOG in CoD4 is so hilariously broken, for some reason the ACOG gives it a massive boost to full auto crouching hip accuracy so you're pretty much guaranteed a win at mid range because you don't have to pull up your sights.

2 shot kills at close range are funderful. And it reloads really fast if you animation cancel.
I still wish I could ADS in CoD4 though. I either use silencer to hide muzzle smoke, can't see through the gun model and die horribly, or I use red dot and my screen is filled with muzzle smoke upon firing and I die horribly.
I'm fine with using ADS in CoD4. I used to always use a silenced MP5 though. Not knowing where your enemy is firing from can be deadly.

try the M14 or M16 in CoD4 and watch as you get NRs on people who aren't even moving

This works on a still target but then either they move or recoil kicks in and I have no idea where the hell I'm aiming
It's just natural once you play enough. Personally I never had too many issues with the muzzle flash. There are other games where I have problems with it but CoD isn't one of them.
Anyone know of any CoD4 servers that run good maps and have a low max player count? I'm tired of shitfests with 64 players in linear maps.
