I really need conformation from IW that using the custom FOV slider is still ok to use.
I can't imagine myself playing with 65 FOV.
Im confused. I have Multiplayer pre-loaded but not SP, can I play MP at launch tonight with out installing SP?

aye, really don't want to install SP
These games have always been kind of a guilty pleasure for me, but it's a shame that even if you want it on PC not many people play them. Blops 2 has about 8k people playing, with a high point of like 18k people.
Turns out ghosts doesn't run unless if you have 6gb of ram, just throws an error at you.

Seriously? So 256MB on consoles are enough, but you need 6GBs on PC... there goes my order
Well, there's a 'fix' out to bypass the ram check for singleplayer (and it runs fine, like anyone would have expected), but I don't really trust it since it changes the exe and a bunch of DLLs too.
Guess I'm going to get more ram tomorrow.
How is it already available on steam for everyone? I have to wait until midnight still.
[editline]4th November 2013[/editline]
and why does it say Now Available on store page now but its still showing a preload
its available for me in the uk, but wow at having to redownload 20GB of multiplayer because they patched it since the preload, GG i dont even fucking care about mp

if it modifies the SP files I would imagine it doesn't do anything to your VAC status or anything since the modified files won't cause any problems. but yeah. that's still a joke. there's no way the game consumes that much memory (also rofl, the game really IS like 50 gigs. something tells me they made no effort in optimizing this for PC at all)
how the hell do you change the FOV
it's like i'm looking at the game with binoculars
also the sound designer must've been smoking some heavy shit, one of the rifles sounds like someone angrily cleaning a window
Wow, what can I say. It runs like shit (even on the menus) and still looks like a 360 game.
For you PC players with it, how do servers work? I know they're dedicated but is it BO2 (matchmaking, CoD4(player hosted) or Black Ops(rented)?
[editline]4th November 2013[/editline]
and is there a changeable FOV?
you can use a program to change FOV, I don't think it'll pick up on VAC because VAC works with DLLs and shit. This is merely changing a config value.
so far it's obviously going for the battlefield look, it's really hard to tell if you are being hit and who by, so it always feels like you are getting instakilled.
menus are cluttered, unlock system is confusing to begin with. UAVs are now "com sats", which are placed on the ground. Other stuff as well.
I'm glad they've made semi-auto guns their own class, much prefer using them.
the one thing battlefield has that call of duty NEEDS is iron sights or aimpoints for bolt actions/sniper rifles

Is your pc good?
Is your pc good?
Yes. I run BF4 using high settings, this looks WORSE than MW2 and runs like absolute turd, especially in the menus (long lag spikes). For some reason it looks upscaled but it's probably their FXAA.

Guess we'll see if that's a common issue when the review embargo lifts. Speaking of which, anyone know when that is?
Midnight iirc.
I wonder how the shotguns are like in Ghosts, may be a bit early to ask but I'm curious.
I hope i can find a preowned copy at CEX or somewhere come friday.
Well, I caved and bought it. So how are people playing it right now though?
Leaked console copies, VPN, etc
Does the PC version have dedicated servers and a server browser? or is it matchmaking and p2p again?
Yes and no, like BLOPS2.
People are reporting that the PC version is only using 2gigs of ram
lmao

Did anyone actually expect a good pc port
lmao

No
I just find it hilarious it uses a third of the amount of ram they claim it needs.

Doesn't it need only half the space than it previously said too?
I scratch my head why they thought a new gen version of Ghosts would be such a grand idea. What the hell is even the point?

They were probably jumping on the next-gen bandwagon to try and reap the cash of those who buy them as a launch title. Which would explain some things.
So which country should I set my VPN to in order to unlock early?

Well, a next-gen version wouldn't be a bad idea if they had made a significant leap between the two versions like we're seeing on the EA Sports titles and Battlefield 4.
They really just need a new engine. The one they're using seems to be restricting what they can achieve.
