obv they never had the time to optimize the "new engine"
2 many fish
That's pretty much a staple of the series though. Nothing new there
But MW2 and 3 were at least 5 hours long, blops got me 7 and I wasn't able to finish blops 2 because my save got bugged out and thanks to the whole 'choices' system there's no 'restart level' option.
the weird thing is I haven't had any of the stuttering or micro stutters or anything (running an i7 3.2 and a single 660, 4gb ram)
I'm curious to see how it'll run online but I have to wait for the rest of my RAM to get here. It's weird because everybody with beefier systems report stutters yet mine runs flawlessly in single player. The only weird thing is that I can't set any of my texture settings past medium. The game's got it hard-locked at medium/normal for whatever reason
My SP runs maxed fine, MP stutters like shit on every setting.
Oh look playing bf4 on highest settings then I was playing cod ghosts. No lag at all. Well then.

blops lasted a decent while, so did MW1 and MW2
All I ever wanted from a CoD game is a wood-finish shotgun and a revolver and I haven't had that since Blops 1
This game gives me that so it's GOTY

60 bucks for a wood-finish shotgun and revolver is pretty expensive...

Most guns go for over double that.

I remember the article about the 6GB requirement being bullshit but jesus, the amount of wasted space is nuts. Even if you adjust for paging, at most it uses just under 3GB of RAM

On which is Ghosts better? PS3 or Xbox360? I think i like the gameplay on Ghosts so i might order it, but does it run same on both or a little better on xbox/ps3?
Xbox 360.
Say what you want, but the single player has some of the coolest missions yet.
With that video it makes it seem like they took all the modifications they made to Modern Warfare 3 and just disabled shit as opposed to actually removing it completely, that's really fucking lazy.
[editline]6th November 2013[/editline]
Actually just speaking of being lazy, they're using the same engine, everything else is just fucking stupid.
Still gonna play the shit out of this game though probably.

What if the MW3 assets, sounds everything about the game is still in Ghosts and thats what is causing the 30gb Install size :v:

Havent played Ghosts, but I played MW2 and I had fun with those SP missions, so I'm sure you are correct. DUN DUN CHE!

Ok, just wanted to address something: That "nothing" he shows is actually nothing. It's not consuming any more RAM that if it wasn't there.
The game does not NEED 6GB of RAM, but not for these reasons, so don't believe this guy.
Iv been playing call of duty since cod4 (Played cod2 last from the steam sales). And iv got to say, this is the worst call of duty on the pc yet. Its like they where half assed to do anything.
Horrible FPS cap, Horrible system for setting up the graphic options. Doesnt port over from singleplayer, and cant tweak them mid game due to the game forcing a restart. Any other game does not force a game restart to do this.
I was at a "meh" moment about the game, but what really really russled my jimmies, was the unbound multiplayer keys...
No key bound for ingame chat by default, and then, no keys bound for killstreaks/pointstreaks. How the hell did they miss this one? I didnt even expect to look to bind keys for killstreaks/pointstreaks.
Then autoaim assist is still present in the pc version. I don't hate on people using controllers. But if your going to use it on pc, you sacrafice the auto aim, its like the unwritten rule.
The campaign on the otherhand was, alright, very short sharp mission though. Quiet nice missions such as operation clockwork. But their aim to build up emotional connection, to the level of cod4. Was horrible, i didnt feel a simple thing towards the characters who died. The story doesnt feel like its one of those you will remember like codmw series or black ops series. It just feel vague, unconnected, and to quick. The ending, just killed my soul knowing there will be a sequal...
On a final note, these nextgen fish, i thought they where supposed to swim away? Not swim into my body and through them. It also takes them bloody ages to finally pick up your sitting ontop of them and they need to swim away. Also the Dog was a promotion gimmick, no use or connection towards the character at all. Hardly in any missions.
Check out these next gen graphics on PC:

His wording and methodology was slightly off, but he is right about a few things, the main point being that setting aside a certain amount of RAM and only using less than half of it is incredibly wasteful. Combine that with re-used assets, Hz lock, and other stupid design decisions and you wonder if they spent half the dev cycle huffing paint on rags

I was wondering actually why half of my multiplayer keys were unbound. Seems like they just got it ready and stole one of the devs control configuration and just threw it in there last moment.

i thought you were kidding at first
playing through the campaign
it's really nothing but visuals, the writing is pretty fucking weak, no scratch that it's really fucking weak. the characters are shit, the dog is pointless, the action scenes are straight out of MW3, this is a travesty.
at least you had something to grasp onto with the MW trilogy.
So, looks like a lot of people have been giving Ghosts bad reviews on Metacritic.

Gotta admit, it's weird seeing a CoD get such low scores. I've gotten way too used to seeing the IW games get a ton of undeserved praise. Except for Modern Warfare, that was great.
Like Agoat said below, a lot of the reviews are probably from people with grudges against the series.

Careful, a lot of those reviews are from people that don't even play CoD. Ghosts isn't the best, but people love to hate CoD.

no more than the dozens of people who made an account to rate it 0 lol
Imagine living such an unfulfilling life that you make a Metacritic account to leave bad user reviews of games you don't even play.

Getting killed literally within the first few seconds of the game, with stuttering and lag kicking in almost immediately.
GJ infinity ward.
