How the dicks do I use the line tool to make fans blow shit somewhere?
Start a line on the fan wall itself and that changes the direction and speed at which it functions.
I'm blind as a bat and can't find the line tool. :saddowns:
Shift-Click is line-draw. Also Ctrl+Click is area fill.

The more you know~!
those destroyable cities are pretty neat.
What is the point of life?, it does nothing but grow and die. and why can it burn through metal?

Update!
Powder Toy is now Lua scriptable! Check out the beta http://powdertoy.co.uk/

The current Lua API isn't a whole lot, but the it's still in early development.
I made a simple photon laser gun, but how would I make the heat output higher?
Run the photons along a superheated conductor; I use diamond.
Bumping this to ask why the FPS is so horrible in the latest versions? And because of this I don't want to update yet. So can you please add an option to get rid of the annoying "A NEW UPDATE IS AVAILABLE!!" bar?
Why did this thread die? This game is fucking amazing.
Yeah, and it's updated pretty often.
Does anyone know how to build a snowmaker that works like a real one?
I mean, allowing high pressure water vapor to expand rapidly instead of just spamming liquid nitrogen.

FPS issues seem to have been fixed, there's been quite a few optimizations over the past month
Everytime I see this thread it makes me want to play.
I want to make awesome contraptions. But this game is hard to figure out (IMO)

look at examples, they helped me a lot
plus plasma cutting and thermite welding are awesome
How do you even use bizzare, like I need a legit tutorial
How do you even use bizzare, like I need a legit tutorial
Bizarre is just a particle that changes states of matter in the opposite ways.
If you heat bizarre, instead of melting, it will solidify.
If you cool bizarre, instead of freezing, it will vapourize.
Also bump
Why is this thread so dead? this game is amazing.
I near forgot about this game. Thanks for the bump.
I still play it and I have been since like version 20. something
Each time it gets updated it gets better and better.
Woah long time no play. What the fuck is that newtonian gravity? And... and water equalisation!
Game is awesome, thanks for the remindobump
Woah long time no play. What the fuck is that newtonian gravity? And... and water equalisation!
After hours of experimentation, neither of those things is what I thought they were...
Anybody know?
newtonian gravity enables BHOL and WHOL and PGRAV / NGRAV functions.
Water EQ: Put a metal U, and a line in the middle to make two connected at the bottom tubes, and fill one up with water. Watch it equalize.
Holy shit, this game has gotten complicated.
I remember once, before, I made a mechanism that heated diamond to turn water into steam to power some switches, and then I tried to condense it back into water but it didn't really work.
Anyone have a good/easy guide to make a Flamethrower?
Anyone have a good/easy guide to make a Flamethrower?
Do you know how e-wall and fans work?
that's about all you need to know, if not I can teach you really
just make a box with e-wall in the side. hook somethign up to make you able to open / close the e-wall. put fans in there, have them blow towards the e-wall. put CLNE and have it clone oil or desl (unsure about this actually, may not work with desl) and a flame producing CLNE right outside the e-wall. When you hit the switch it should release some oil out and catch on fire.
OR have some CLNE cloning PLUT inside that box I mentioned and then put another CLNE in there to clone NEUT. That should make a vast amount of pressure. Have that open up to a CLNE block making fire and it'll produce a decent amount of push for a bit. This one needs a bigger cloned flame though.
That was a very inefficient tutorial but it gives you the basics.
I did try that but it often resulted in the fuel exploding massively
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
Like. flame would flow straight back into the fuel tank and it would just look like the 4th of july
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
Did your guide to the letter and suddenly when i let out some oil all of it ignited at once.
Yeah, pressure.
Flamethrowers are actually pretty hard to do.

Here's something I quickly did based off one of my older designs that no longer works as it should (PLUT + NEUT now makes a lot of URAN too, and particle + fan doesn't increase fan output tenfold.)
also, a handy tip: making CLNE diagonal like it is with the flame clone will make it produce a lot more, or put it spaced like x o x o x where x is clne and o is empty.
