Might as well throw this out here: I've never played any form of D&D, but I'm looking for a group. My schedule is the main problem. I have a friend that runs a game I could get in on if not for my work schedule(I work nights, so I'm asleep while they play), so I'm having a bit of trouble finding a group. I'm mostly interested in games based around Forgotten Realms type stuff, but that's mostly because that's all I'm somewhat familiar with via Baldur's Gate and RA Salvatore stuff so I suppose I'd give most semi-serious stuff a chance.
Mostly serious. World of Darkness, A Song of Ice and Fire RPG, Numenera, Legend of the 5 Rings RPG, Mutants & Masterminds, D&D/Pathfinder since those are popular, whatever's going that isn't goofy or Warhammer 40k (same thing really).
Oh, shame. I do 40k stuff mostly.

All-Star Superman was like watching 10 or so different short stories sewn together. I had no fuckin clue what was going on for most of the movie.

Well, the film is an adaptation of an episodic comic book. I was refering to the comic in my post and the film left out almost all of the most brilliant moments of genius the comic had, including the part that makes me all teary-eyed (which is also the greatest Superman moment in the character's 70-odd year history). The film holds only the dimmest of candles to the original source.

I'm not a fan of Superman, since his power is basically "being better than everyone at everything".

All-Star Superman takes all the arguments of why Superman is a boring character, why his stories don't work and makes them into something genius. Example, you've seen the film. If he's so invincible, how does he defeat Lex Luthor in the end, hmm?

By wrecking his shit and sending Lex to death row. Then he flies into the sun for some reason or another, and just chills.

Had a big chain of thunderstorms this week, lost power. sorry about not being able to make it friday!
Eclipse phase octodad has proven once again that 8 arms worth of firepower is ridiculous on all levels

After watching a video playthrough of Jurassic Heart Dinosaur Dating sim with him, I have decided that the only possible character I can play as is a T-Rex Bard.

He wears a tie and plays the ukulele.

That's kind of a silly idea, to be honest.
"Oh no, i'm only a billion times better than anyone, I wanted to be infinitely better, boohoo :'("

You're completely missing the point.
the point is
dc is bad read marvel instead if you dont want baby superheros with daddy issues
[editline]16th September 2013[/editline]
if you're feeling particularly cool, read dark horse comics

hulk is pretty good
not as good as helicopter tho
Uh oh it's one of those posts again
I really want to get into rpg's but the last few times I tried to play didn't go so well (the first time the GM forgot about time zones & the second was too lazy to organise it)
So are there any games going on that won't mind taking on someone who hasn't played before?
Making things in traveller has no goddamn right to be as fun as it is
Seriously who thought rolling on random tables could be great gameplay even before you start doing things

All super heroes are pretty dumb imo. Things like Batman and The Punisher are exceptions because they are ~dark~ and ~edgy~

I find that Marvel's heroes tend to be more flawed and therefore interesting.
