Here's an interesting question for you: when did Paladins stop being a human-only class in D&D/Pathfinder? Reason I ask is that I'm letting one of my players take a turn at GMing an in-canon Pathfinder game, although most players will be getting one-off characters save myself and the one person who's character got killed in the last session. He was asking about the character I was making, and I told him he was an elven paladin. Now, this guy hasn't played since (IIRC) AD&D, way back when, so I'm not surprised the official lore has changed. I'm just wondering when that happened.
I think they got rid of it in second edition.
Started a new campaign with some friends. We're running the D&D next play test. Instead of being the usual tinkering spellcaster I decided to mix it up and play a bruiser. Thus Bragdun the level 3 Mountain Elf Barbarian was crafted. So far we have had two smooth sessions that turned out some great story. I'll try to post a write up on our first two sessions when I get some more background on the world.
Bought a novelty giant d20 for important rolls. [t]http://puu.sh/51s9V.jpg[/t] Shame I only noticed it was a spindown afterwards. But as long as I make people roll it a good distance it should be fair enough.
Last time I was at a table with one of those bastards, someone rolled it into my unopened can of soda and a corner punctured it, causing it to spray everywhere.

They got rid of it because they got rid of all the other restrictions. For example, only humans and half elves could be druids if I recall. It's due to humanity being the race that had the fanaticism to have the beliefs needed to be a paladin/druid. They decided ANY race could be that fanatic.
My party just fireballed a crowd of innocent people, and now the DM is playing the Benny Hill theme through roll20 as the guards chase us.

Did you raise the bodies as zombies and have them attack the rest of the town too?
That session's final kill count; 1 Royal inquisitor (level 7 with nice gear), the temple's head priest (Level five with ok-ish gear), 5 of his acolytes, 6 military sergeants, 41 foot soldiers and 3 townspeople. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Losses on our side; 15HD of zombies and some spell slots.
Last night I faced the worst decision I've ever had to make as a player. I had to choose one of my friends to save, and one to let die. They were both one attack away from death, and I can only do so much. :( What's worse is that we've been playing these characters for 10 months.

Because if it was the latter I could see someone volunteering.

We were outnumbered 3 to 1 by horsemen, and the GM told him he could jump into the tall grass and try to sneak away. But he stood and fought with his comrades. If he had fled the battle it's not unlikely that we would have lost even more.

Blazes of glory to save others usually are.

For instance, both of the specialized warrior classes, ranger and paladin, were human only. Druids had to be half-elf or human, and same for bards. Part of this might have been because humans couldn't multiclass as easily as others (any elf with 9 strength and 9 intelligence could be a Fighter/Mage, and a half-elf could go one step further and be a Fighter/Mage/Thief or Fighter/Cleric/Thief etc.) or it could have just been for flavour reasons. In 3rd edition, they changed it so that prestige classes were something you entered later on rather than at the start of the game, so many classes that were "specialized" classes in AD&D 2e became standard classes (druid, bard, ranger, paladin, specialist wizards) and were enterable by any race, but they still had race restrictions on some of the prestige classes afaik. Apart from the race requirements, the advanced classes also had very high prerequisites in AD&D 2e, which is something they also did away with in 3rd.
I couldn't ask for more, really. I mean, within two sessions our measily group of 3 doubled to 6, all with their own special abilities. And hey, the last two fights have been kinda easy for the most part, with Aperature beating the shit out of snakeman with his fists, me dropkicking a jet with my own jet, and Trog kinda just being Trog and shooting missiles everywhere. So far, I don't think our enemies have lasted more than 3 rounds of combat. :V
That's because you bastards like to crit at the worst possible times. Insta-death.
oh dear the rogue in our pathfinder game would have accidentally killed our oracle player due to shooting into combat if the gm didn't intervene

Damn Tranny, that's one fine-ass Orc. Also I've got a question with pathfinder; is it better from a mechanics standpoint to go Oracle 1/Paladin 4, or Paladin 5?
I don't think the artist accurately represented the size of his massive dong though.
we levelled up at the end of the last session and I took the feat that lets me shoot into combat with no penalties said rogue did not I can already see the next sessions events unfolding
Hopefully I can play Gragnark in a session with some Facepunchers sometime :~)

Give me horrifying moral choices for my Call of Cthulu game. Thx.
Give me horrifying moral choices for my Call of Cthulu game. Thx.
People who are insane in a not-threatening manner, but in an absolutely self-harmful way. Someone relaxing in an armchair, smiling and petting their dog as it chews open their gut. Bonus points if he's previously been a helpful source of information for the PCs, and continues to be if they leave him be.
and it's finished! fantastic art
plz draw my pixie ninja plz ;-;
Almost universally, unless you have something very specific in mind, staying a pure class will get you better results than multiclassing.
I don't know, my Guntank Urban Barbarian Unbreakable turned out pretty well.
Give me horrifying moral choices for my Call of Cthulu game. Thx.
Strange Eldtrich affliction strikes and the only cure is the blood of a helpless individual that does not die from the affliction, but is constantly suffering from it. He/She/It will become increasingly hostile as the process goes on, maybe even something else entirely.
Give me horrifying moral choices for my Call of Cthulu game. Thx.
The ritual which summons horrible things is going to be done in broad daylight in front of hundreds of people (think parade/concert/political rally/public event with the ritual happening under the stage or with vile flutes in the orchestra) while the cultists are in plainclothes disguises. Make it so any actions done by the PC's to disrupt the event or oust the cult either ends up ruining their reputation or gets them arrested/gunned down by non-cult bodyguards depending on how brash a course of action they take. Do the PC's risk harming innocents in their efforts to foil the evil plot? Would it not be worse to allow it to continue unstopped? Can you tell them without risking their sanity or them questioning yours? Are the PC's gatecrashers? Protestors? Terrorists!? Up to you, man.
Give me horrifying moral choices for my Call of Cthulu game. Thx.
A man who has been murdering people throughout a campaign for seemingly no reason explains himself. He has been mutilating the corpses for scientific research based on elder god technology. He no longer feels any remorse for taking life, but on principal alone is dedicated to saving it. He has been working on a cure for the ebola virus and uses random people he finds off the street for test subjects, after which he murders them in thanks to the dark gods for providing him with inspiration. He turns himself in to your party/police and tells you that his life's work is completed and will save far more people than he has killed. He makes an ultimatum: clear him of all charges (for which he admits to being guilty) and he will divulge the location of the vaccine, failure to do so within a twenty four hour period will mean that the vaccine will die and the offer is taken off the table.
plz draw my pixie ninja plz ;-;
I wish I could draw that, I would draw everyones, I can PM you the link to the artist if you're willing to pay?
I wish I could draw that, I would draw everyones, I can PM you the link to the artist if you're willing to pay?
I most likely don't have that sort of monet to blow on a pixie ninja pic of that quality.
I'm gonna be hosting my own Campaign soon. DnD 3.5e and it's going to be very RP orientated. I will allow alot of things and if you provide enough reason you can have whatever. Hopefully starting in a week or so, we already have two Facepunch members onboard. I need 2 more, I would prefer them being EU/UK so we can sort out times alot easier. We still need to confirm when we are playing.
