So if this M&M game happens, how do we set up our character? I'm seeing stuff like power level points and whatnot.
Just use power level 10, that's the default.
How annoying would it be if [insert weirdly specific situation here]. Uhh... I dunno... weird I guess. How weird would it be if I rolled charisma when I should roll wisdom. Pretty weird huh guys? Right guys?
How weird would it be if you actually used a similar situation as a comparison as opposed to talking about rolling attributes in place of others (which is used all the time in tabletop) [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Wait elly are you running mnm
Wait elly are you running mnm
yup
arrr there any more slottos?
You'll have to hold auditions, Elly-Welly.
Anyone running something other than M&M and need players? I've never really liked the idea behind M&M.
What kinda game are you interested in playing? Curiosity
Don't you love it when the supposed healbot of a party ends up saving them all by facetanking the bbeg and tossing out more support spells than anyone knew he had? Praise Illuminaire, Cleric of Pelor.

Also, for those interested who don't know yet, there was an update to the Exalted 3rd Edition kickstarter earlier.
Here's a look at how the EX3 text is progressing: From Holden: " Presence and Performance still being worked on, with Presence nearing completion and Performance still being heavily worked. Sorcery is undergoing second draft revisions. Elements of the Traits chapter are moving to editing. Various system elements are receiving overhauls based on ongoing playtest feedback. The playtesters are beginning to engage the social mechanics, moving us into Phase 2 playtesting. Art notes are being written across the book." The EX3 Novels are in the pitch/outline phases- I just got some questions from Matt Forbeck that should help pin down his novel, and the EX3 Comic has been sketched out and is now being written and illustrated. Composer James Semple (he created the music we used in the KS video) is composing for the EX3 Music Suites. We just sent him notes for the Dragon Blooded theme, but it's still too early for any samples. Here are some comments sent back from the playtesters: “We're all very pleased with the playtest so far. I won't say some of us weren't wary about a combat system for Exalted, but what we've seen so far has blown away any doubt we may have had. Combat is not only interesting but fast to run and easy to learn as well (and very unique, I don't know any other RPG with a combat system like this one). It's great to finally being able to run combats involving characters with different fighting styles (Melee, Brawl, Martial Arts, etc) where everyone is cool and useful, none of the options more "optimal" than the other. I'm sure other groups will be as excited as we are once they get their hands on it.” “Third edition got me excited the moment I started flipping through the combat rules section. As the ST of the group, it was readily apparent to me just how well it could abstract into a scene. What's more, it also affords a much more nuanced, effective way of controlling combat pacing without blunt force ST-induced trauma. Both of these are really important for a narrative campaign and I'm glad EX3 is built from the ground up to support this. It's also still nice and crunchy for all of us who like that. I'm also genuinely surprised at how diverse and cool Solars are now. The charm list is now filled with all of those small things that make a character breathe with life. And now that I think back on it, I haven't seen a charm that felt like a charm tax. Seriously. To my fellow fans: I know it's really tough right now. We can really only give assurances right now because the team doesn't want to bolt down anything. That's very healthy for the game; nothing's been kept holy except for the Exalted that we all felt in our hearts despite those old shoddy rules. What I can say is that the team is really hard at work - we keep getting updates every day or two that make us go back to the board and test out the implications. Hell, they're even happening through Christmas... To my fellow Sidereal fans: There's space, oh man there's totally mechanical space for Sidereals and I can tell it's there. As a happy coincidence, they can already be simulated to a certain extent, just by tweaking a couple of things. Chatting with one of my players we came to the same conclusion for Lunars as well (of course, you'll have to tweak it differently). Of course, they aren't inclusive of all the themes of Sidereals and Lunars, but you can definitely reference them in campaigns at the get-go and not freak out the moment the party happens upon one of them. All in all, the biggest feeling I got was freedom, the ability to have both crunchy levers and "direct-to- effect" levers that let me tweak the pacing to match that awesome scene everyone's imagining. I'll lean on the other playtesters for more PC-oriented feedback. Oh and to address one last thing: I'm a Sidereal fan and I haven't smelled any Solar fan-wank yet.” “I've done a lot of RPG battles over the years, across dozens of systems and a multitude of genres. After our first combat playtest with Ex3, I don't think I could go back to any of them. The core mechanics are just that groundbreaking, innovative, and *fun*. Further, the new Solar charmset is nigh universally inspiring, often jaw-dropping in terms of power, and shows every bit the amount of time, passion, and polish that's gone in to it. The only trepidation I have so far is knowing how difficult it will be to decide which epic Charms to give to new characters when we've got the full set in front of us.” And finally, but not least, here is an excerpt from EX3 of a new location that sharp-eyed backers noticed on the map: In the uttermost East, beyond the city-states of Serpolet and fungus-ravaged Elytrum, stand the looming mounds and cyclopean ziggurats of semi-mythical Izahuaca—the capital of Ixcoatli, the Empire of the Winged Serpent. Travelers from dozens of tributaries and client states, from half-civilized tribes to ancient cities, make their way to the shores of Lake Achpilli. Merchants and pilgrims, nobles and vagabonds pass through the iron gates of Izahuaca’s ivy-bearded wooden walls under the watchful eyes of serpentfolk soldiers and their raitonfolk sergeants, clad in bronze breastplates etched with Old Realm glyphs, their faces concealed behind masks of jade. These are the native peoples of Ixcoatli. Ages ago, the serpentfolk—a people of great builders, administrators and soldiers—battled the raitonfolk’s scholarly warrior-priests across a thousand miles of deep Eastern forest, beyond the attention or interest of the Dragon-Blooded shoguns. Then the Great Contagion all but exterminated the feathered tribes, and the flood of Fair Folk that followed razed the great cities of the serpentfolk to the ground and slaughtered most of their gods. Years later, the serpentfolk encountered the survivors of the raiton clans. Rather than finishing the job of exterminating them, they accepted the remaining raitonfolk into their ranks. While the libraries of the serpents had burned during the advance of the Fair Folk, the raitonfolk preserved scrolls, books, and songlines dealing with the shared history of the two peoples, making their lore indispensable to the serpent people. The serpentfolk still overwhelmingly dominate modern Ixcoatli in terms of population numbers. Meanwhile, the raitonfolk occupy an enshrined position in the nation's caste system—they are priests, scholars, military officers and occasionally assassins, and their collective cultural wing is known as the theomilitary. With the Fair Folk stirring again and a general wind of chaos blowing through Creation, the empire has had more and more trouble keeping the tribute channels moving and administrating its outlying holdings. In spite of this, their cultural traditions press them to continue expanding and to cast about for new potential conquests.
So do I just set up a "hero" like the website describes? Sorry to keep asking questions; I just want to make sure everything is right.
Jebus there is a rule for everything in Pathfinder
So do I just set up a "hero" like the website describes? Sorry to keep asking questions; I just want to make sure everything is right.
Power level 10, and pretty much, yeah. My character is sorta the inventor type, so don't make me useless and be that.
Power level 10, and pretty much, yeah. My character is sorta the inventor type, so don't make me useless and be that.
I am also making an inventor scientist... [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] (Holy shit this system has a buttload of customization)
Jebus there is a rule for everything in Pathfinder
What are the debuffs for menstral pains then?
I am also making an inventor scientist... [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] (Holy shit this system has a buttload of customization)
Well then stop that dude. I already did that, plus if you're only working on that, youll be the best at it, and I'll just be shit. So for my sake, just restart.
What are the debuffs for menstral pains then?
Character is nauseated, +5 circumstance bonus to Survival checks made to track the character (+10 in a body of water).

Because of the way my power works, I could make like... a plastic knife and then have it be made of steel and stuff. Or a foldable blade that folds out plastic, but then the mechanisms are turned into DIAMOND to make it rock solid and not flimsy.
I was going to be puttign a lot into tech so I could make cool shit.
Ok, we'll be fine then. There's absolutely no way we have the same power(s). Just similar skills. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Fuck, I don't know if I'm ever going to end up in the game anyways v:v:v

Traveller was fun today. Ridiculous, but fun. We had: 1. A robot with an eye that belonged to an inventor before he died who was trying to kill us/a VIP we were protecting. 2. Some imperial troops who were apparently a special ops squad. 3. About 200 Space banditos. 4. A gigantic fucking snake thing that mistook the train we were on for another snake and wanted to mate or something. 5. The train turning on it's side and staying like that for a bit before righting itself. 6. Our NPC helper for the mission charged out a room and killed about 20 of the banditos.
I just ran a very silly short one off session to introduce two new players to the game. Summary of game: Group got black out drunk and the fighter's favorite stein was stolen! They wake up, immediately start smashing a table and scaring off tavern patrons. Sorcerer rolls nat20 to gather info, and finds out who stole it and where they went, off towards some ruins. On the way to the ruins, a wolf attacks, and they kill it. During battle, sorcerer casts detect magic at a tree. I decided it was a druid in disguise. They brutally murder him, and then chop some more trees down. Continue on toward ruins. Two skeletons at gate. Summoner tries to diplomacy them, they rattle back. Entire party starts insulting one skeleton about its weight, knobbly knees and ankles. It runs off into the forest rattling sadly. Other one shakes hands with summoner and lets him pass. Inside there is a mummy, they attempt to unravel the mummy and then also tabletop the mummy, and end up killing it. They continue down ruins and hear mariachi music being played inside a room. One player, who decided to be a tiny dragon, pulls out a lute and burst into the room and join the music. Rolls a 2. Skeletons stop playing and stare at party, and then combat. After dragon gets critical, one of the skellies challenges him to a lute duel. If skellies win, they get the PC's pants. If they lose, PCs go free. Duel music starts playing. Skelly starts off strong, but dragon pulls ahead. It's a tense 4 minute musical duel consisting of opposed perform checks. Dragon manages to win. They burst into next room, find necromancer who stole their stein. He is completely wasted, and surrounded by kegs of booze. He offers the fighter some booze, by chance in the stolen stein. Fighter beats him to death with stein and then they all go home with loot.
How do u want these sheets bby?
myth-weavers has some decent-ish M&M sheets, but if you have something else in mind that's cool Should probably set up like a Skype call or something for this.
Power Level?
Ooh nvm
hey a pathfinder game I'm running might totally be happening soon. And it won't collapse because there's actually stuff happening rather than just talk. But there's one guy who I barely know who's gonna play. He's a huge unknown factor. Guess I gotta learn the hard way. So far he's been compliant to my rules of "no 3.5 stuff, no evil alignments, no certain races" so that's good. I will probably stab the nearest sapient being with a fork if this game doesn't go through again. God knows I've been trying to get a game with these assmunches for the better part of a year now
Well, that's one Magical Burst log collected and filed. Private chats suck why can't you people just stay in one nice cohesive group to fight demon things In any event, I present: Magical Burst: Session 5: Relations http://pastebin.com/LkRAkLTd TL;DR: Nothing but cute teenage girl things happened
Previously, the party had just exited the endless elevator shafts after fighting the snake demon and the not-so-friendly magical girl who Eri hurled down said shafts. Sarah (who is heavily bandaged), Eve and Eri all go to class, while Satoya the dropout catgirl does catgirl things (namely going to the zoo and stealing a lion cub). Class cuts to lunch. Sarah and Eve are in the same class, Eri is not with them. Before Sarah can leave like the antisocial she is, a group of girls (named Ko, Suzu and Tami) start talking to her and asking about her wounds. Sarah replies she got them bear wrestling, the national sport of her homeland. Sarah escapes with Eve and Eve's NPC friend Ally before the trio of NPC girls can recover from their confusion. In the hall they find a group of four nerds doing nerd things, who they walk past without much thought. They start getting tailed by the nerds and find out they're the school's paranormal investigation club who are sure that the party consists of or interacts with ghosts, demons, aliens or CIA hackers. More stuff, lunch ends, they go back to class. Class ends, the NPC trio from before invite Sarah, Eve and Ally to a coffee shop. They accept. Eri pops in and joins them. At the coffee shop they do coffee shop things like order coffee. Satoya shows up, in full magical garb, carrying a Simba-sized lion cub. When a TV in the shop set to the news mentions the cubnapping from the zoo, Satoya buggers off. During her run, she finds that the magic cat Hakurobe who gave her her powers is now on her shoulder. Satoya's looking for a hiding spot to wait for the cubnapping to blow over, Haku suggests a room at the hospital. In the room, Satoya, the cub and Haku find the magical girl who got wrecked in the elevator shafts the day before. She's missing an arm. Her and Satoya start talking and becoming what can vaguely be called friends. Satoya manages to ditch the cub there by hiding in a closet while animal control comes to collect it. Eve in the meantime left the coffee shop to look for Satoya. No luck, she goes to the school and tells the paranormal club to keep a lookout for her because she's a genuine catgirl who was probably possessed by demons and ghosts after CIA gene enhancement treatments done with alien tech. Eve rejoins the group at the coffee shop and after some more chatter they leave. Before Eve can get out of the shop she's stopped by a girl with a cane, blonde hair and sunglasses who gives her a vague and partially nonsensical warning. The following day during lunch break, the party minus Eve since she went to the paranormal club to discuss something decide to go to the park to roast marshmallows. Eve catches up with them at the park and after some marshmallow shenanigans Steam decided to get DDOS'd so we cut the session there.
