Do Eclipse Phase, you will not regret it. Actually, you might, but you probably wont regret it.
I loved Ecplise Phase for the short time I played it.
Are you kidding me everyone loved Seagon. I think most of the non-fun stuff during that campaign was due to me still being very new to GMing. :v:
I didn't really feel like there was anyone who didn't like Seagon but i didn't know for sure. Fun as hell to play too.
I didn't really feel like there was anyone who didn't like Seagon but i didn't know for sure. Fun as hell to play too.
The only complaint I've ever heard about him was that they had no idea if he was human or just literally a possessed suit of armor. :v:
It's joke winning. Do Eclipse Phase, you will not regret it. Actually, you might, but you probably wont regret it.
but eclipse phase has the gayest psionics system of all time no fun allowed
It's joke winning.
I'd play it.
I'd play it.
yeah well you don't count because ur a weaboo
I actually like Eclipse Phase's psionics system because it has believable drawbacks and isn't so OP it's broken. Although some of the splatbooks removed some of the drawbacks, such as allowing you to implant a biological brain into a Synthmorph.
I actually like Eclipse Phase's psionics system because it has believable drawbacks and isn't so OP it's broken.
yeah but you can't move stuff with your mind or anything else that's cool for that matter
The only complaint I've ever heard about him was that they had no idea if he was human or just literally a possessed suit of armor. :v:
I loved that reaction honestly, as soon as someone mentioned it i specifically avoided revealing himself to other sentient beings. Also if there are any games that aren't full or want someone i would totally be available
yeah well you don't count because ur a weaboo
the sad thing is I think the best rpg players I've played with were mostly either weaboos or furries
the sad thing is I think the best rpg players I've played with were mostly either weaboos or furries
I don't know which is worse.
I don't know which is worse.
both combined
the sad thing is I think the best rpg players I've played with were mostly either weaboos or furries
Joiiinnn uuussss~
Tonight on Eclipse Phase Take away the meteors and add even more explosions.
VtM slowly turning into librarian adventures as I stop off to pick up relevant books on just about anything before we go investigate
VtM slowly turning into librarian adventures as I stop off to pick up relevant books on just about anything before we go investigate
Vampires love books. They're the nerds of the monster world.
Vampires love books. They're the nerds of the monster world.
I live in one I literally spent most of the first session sat on my own reading war and peace whilst everyone else in the room stared daggers at me for being a caitiff today I took out some books about identifying arson and chemical fires and basically went full csi taking samples of burnt wood and ash/soot scrapings to figure out what a bobm that got set off in the first session was made of so we can track down some sabbat twats apparently next session the giovanni is going to pull some strings to get me into a legit forensic lab (because apparently middlesbrough has one of those) where I, who to anybody not involved is a 13 year old girl, is going to be trusted with expensive scientific equipment roleplay everybody
Vampires love books. They're the nerds of the monster world.
Clearly you've never bothered with Mage: the Whatevering, me neither.
So is the Homestuck game happening tonight? or did I somehow miss the memo that it was cancelled? Edit: Yes, it was cancelled. I swear this is the only game I've ever played where the GM was the obligatory flaky player. So I got all RPG-time hyped for nothing. Bummer.
The opening sequence took so long that I never got the chance to hook into the game. Also, RIP Star Wars Saga. That's two games in one day for me. Don't worry guys, I'll save ya'll with Eclipse Phase one of these days.
VtM slowly turning into librarian adventures as I stop off to pick up relevant books on just about anything before we go investigate
this legit owns tbh y'know, I've always wanted to play one of these White Wolf games and just be as mundane and regular as I could. like just instead of being a brooding whiney vampire I'd be like 'eh whatever let's go grab a literal bloody mary and shoot the shit' or instead of a ~mysterious~ loner werewolf I'd just be that friendly subdued dude who transforms into a weiner dog
So I've got two homebrew RPGs I'm working on, and if I ever want to get one of them done, I need to focus on only one of them. Since I'm most likely going to be playing them with people from this thread, I'm interested in hearing your input. Idea #1 is called "Unfated". I've posted about it before, but it's been a while. The goal was basically "FATAL, but without the suck". Rules that actually make sense, less focus on rape and other nasty shit, generally turning from "a game that's fun to laugh at while not playing" to "a game that's fun to laugh at while playing". It's intended to be a lighthearted, joking sort of game - comparisons to Oglaf can be made, but it's not quite that comedic. You shouldn't play it completely seriously, but neither should you play it completely as a joke. This one's had the most work put into it (the current Player Handbook draft is 38 pages), but because it's a very structured game, it needs the most work overall. Idea #2 is a newer one, currently untitled. It's another fantasy game, but it would be a very epic game. Well beyond what you can do with even stupidly high-level D&D characters. I think it manages to solve the problem of minmaxers by making everyone overpowered from the get-go. I don't want to spoil the surprise of it, but it will be good for more serious players who enjoy worldbuilding and mythology. It's got less work done on it, but it's also a much more free-form game so it doesn't need nearly as much detail (both fluff and crunch) as Unfated. Both games, by the way, are based on my general-purpose No20 system, which is based on the premise that d20s and d100s are way too overused and all the other dice need some love too. So far not a single rule in either game calls for either, although a d30 and a dRGB are used by the GM in one stage of Untitled. So yeah, tell me whichever one you think you're more likely to want to play, or tell me things you demand be added to whichever game (unusual race ideas for idea #2 will actually be useful). If you want to be brief, rate optimistic for Unfated, artistic for Untitled.
Apparantly there are a lot of lame people on the Pillar of Eternity forums who like Wizards and hate Sorcerors, these people are lame and foolish.
I like the Homestuck RPG. When I got a chance to play. Which was about 1/6th of the total time I played, which is the issue of any homestuck rpg. I suggested changing the lore a little so that we could all play at the same time, but whatever.

You gotta realize, not everything that happens in a game is going to involve you in some way, so sometimes you just need to kick back and enjoy watching the other characters do things. I mean hell WW realized this and suggested letting players who aren't involved directly in a scene control random people in it so they can still do something and influence how things are going to go. Homestuck isn't really a setting where that works, though, unless you start befriending Imps or your GM decides that your sprite is player-controlled.
