I played Fiasco once. 3 out of 4 players were raped literally to death by the 4th. It was a jolly good time.
Okay, I've heard of Fatal, and I've played Magical Burst (Which isn't even fucking bad, I guess Funk just hates the fact that our group is having fun), but what the hell is Fiasco? Considering this is the first time I've heard of it, and it's casual talk about triple rape-murder, it seems like it should be a bit more infamous.

An entire story is told throughout one day, and the goal of the game is DEFINITELY not to win, it's to tell a good story. In fact, during the game you only roll dice twice. The game always ends with something batshit crazy happening. Sometimes literally all the characters will die in the most horrible way possible. Other times everything might turn out completely fine! One of my games ended with the two most sympathetic characters dying in a horrible, depressing fashion, the villain getting arrested, and the two sleaze lords becoming the most powerful people in London. (I don't like it because it's weird to play out little girls doing sex stuff. Yes, I know, Sheep.)

As I fell, bottles flew everywhere, and it turned out I'd stolen over-the-counter headache meds In the resolution I ended up only getting minor charges, and doing the same thing a few months later with a proper getaway car, and still stole the wrong meds. It really depends who you play with. I also had the thickest scottish accent I could convincingly put to text and it was amazing

My favourite storytimes will still be from Trooper-Guy1's Traveller Campaign [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] Typing an outrageous french accent was fun
My favourite storytimes will still be from Trooper-Guy1's Traveller Campaign [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] Typing an outrageous french accent was fun
Killing that small army of dudes on the train is still one of my favorite fights ever And not just because I was standing on the roof sweeping around a plasma cannon making everything in the sky explode
I still kind of secretly feel bad for being a shy mumbler when I joined the best Dark Heresy group and they changed from Skype Group Calling to texting :smithicide:
Worry not, you weren't the only one!
I wish I was having fun with RPGs.
I wish I was having fun with RPGs.
Don't be a selfish asshole, and you might!
Speaking of Magical Burst, the fourth draft is out. Has abstract combat positioning and roles and stuff. In other news, gaming on Sunday and Tuesday when my routine has been Friday for almost a year now has thrown my internal clock off like woah.

Move a witch (i think) to the middle space and Link her with a priestess, and have the witch start spamming hexes and attacks, and you can hit anywhere basically, with stacking damage every round, and noone can do jack shit about it.
I feel like Curse Shift could deliver a nasty shock to that setup, but yeah when I saw it over on /tg/ one of the first things people pointed out was Hex tomfoolery.
Don't be a selfish asshole, and you might!
not my fault people can't accept i'm the most important person in the universe
I feel like Curse Shift could deliver a nasty shock to that setup, but yeah when I saw it over on /tg/ one of the first things people pointed out was Hex tomfoolery.
Yeah, that was one of the devs of MB ReWrite. He was pretty much picking apart the system to see what he could cannibalize and modify for the next version.
I wish I was having fun with RPGs.
You're doing something wrong.
I still kind of secretly feel bad for being a shy mumbler when I joined the best Dark Heresy group and they changed from Skype Group Calling to texting :smithicide:
Just for old times sake... "Whats that Maddie?" "Peremieter breech alarm!" And then we all got in a cabbage truck and rode off into the sunset.
I dunno, I think people are more open to trying rpgs and stuff these days. Even my bestfriends gf is up for trying out Warhammer Fantasy and she didn't know what rpg meant until I told her
I want to make a Bard that puts no points into perform, all into bluff. And then play this. You don't have to sing well when all you need to do is convince everyone else you can.

Meta bluff check?
so I'm rolling a pure archer fighter for pathfinder and this is just the coolest thing I've ever made who needs spells or swords when you can basically turn a bow into both a sniping implement, melee weapon with insane reach, ranged grappling/disarming/bullrush tool, and macross missile launcher mostly the fact that I can fire 4 arrows at once at level 10. Up to 7 once I hit next level. And make 6 attacks of opportunity a turn with a 15 foot reach. And crit both easily and hard, and anyone I crit gets knocked back, and I can count all of my shots in a turn as one attack for dealing with damage reduction, etc etc And I don't even have to sacrifice any tank, and can basically melee fight with a bow without provoking AoO's or any penalties to hit, which is just perfection on top of the whole deal. I do love being reminded why I've played fighters so very often
I play an archer in l5r and I'm basically untouchable, hue
I play as God with a gun in Pathfinder. And by God I mean a wizard. With a gun. Us wizards are such asshats
re: the stereotype, it wasn't like that from the start. D&D was just another game when it came out, normal people with jobs and whatever played it without any stigma :v: there was no nerdy labels or anything back then, nobody gave a shit it must have been so ace Then it got a bad rap in the 80s or something with people (presumably the american public) picking up on some hysterical notions as to what went on at sessions, thinking that the fluff actually meant something and that people might be calling up demons or worshipping satan or similar ouija board shit. So normal people weren't picking it up anymore and it turned into more of a niche thing, the new generation of kids getting into it would probably have been the socially awkward types that didn't fit in, who I imagine gave it their own creepy vibe and made its reputation worse, and so now you have the idea of the aging fat bloke with the gross ponytail representing RPG players. so tragic

I don't think so, as per what I just posted My aunt and uncle used to play it, my sister used to play it, I know someone who started when his dad brought it home around the time of the first publications after playing it with people at work, he worked for a plumbing company or some shit I think. There was a time where it didn't have any false notoriety and functioning adults wouldn't have any inhibitions about trying it

There's just not a lot of people who play it.

Alls fine... but I took a trip to visit my freind in Nottingham university... On the University grounds there is a nice little area of woodland next to some old walls and bridges and crap... We passed that area by, it was FULL of LARPers.
