Fallout PnP? :v:
Here's a download link to the rules we use, including a variety of other PDFs, a helpful character sheet program and our questionably balanced homebrew rules.

And here's a link to that same folder minus the character sheet program if you happen to get false virus readings (an issue that mostly comes from Chrome).

Fallout PNP was included with Fallout Tactics.
I played a one-off session of it last Sunday, involving the NCR and infiltration of Raiders.
and whores of course.

How dare you. I was undercover.
And does it have a name?
It isn't really a set system like d20. This system was made specifically for Fallout PnP based on the original mechanics from the game. If you know how Fallout 1/2/Tactics works then you'd know it would have d100 skill checks, SPECIAL d10 attribute checks, with AP combat actions, DR/DT/AC armor system and all that jazz.

questionably balanced is right
is that the updated version I made after our last game?

Have you nerfed unarmed and melee to high hell like they should be? Brick just proved that they didn't even try to balance that shit out :v:
Hey, being able to punch people in half through power armour is just being true to the source material.

He probably hasn't yet, but they want to. My character was one-shotting things left and right first game.
And there I was with my switchblade and an ineffective duckwalk doing nothing... There's zero support for stealthy characters at low level.

Well... not that I ever TRIED to do anything...

If anything he fucking buffed it.

Wait, you mean the thing that allowed me to rack up 900 damage (ON AVERAGE) per turn, with the right perks, a super power fist, and chems?
Ciaster, are you drunk, high, or both? :v:

Real unarmed fighers don't need drugs or power gauntlets. They only need FIST.

sounds like fallout to me
Didn't find much on offer on Free RPG Day, only got some starter rules for Savage Worlds and a superhero RPG called Valiant...

I didn't even know there was a Free RPG Day.

It's mostly a game store thing, I posted about it a few days ago. Some games companies give away "taster" rules and product demos in game stores and online to attract newcomers.
Woo, Pathfinder stuff came in today!
Grabbed a hardcopy of the CRB (the PDF worked for planning, not so well in-game), Bestiary Box 1 and NPC Codex Box.
Now to try to fit three boxes worth of maps and pawns into two, because like hell I'm lugging all of these to games. I already need a satchel just for the books...

sorta buffed it sorta nerfed it really
it's way more even now imo
Savage Worlds seems like a neat concept, how does it hold up to its goal of "easy quick design for the GM"? Because I could really use some sort of project to work on and I'd feel bad searching for a new game as a player after so many incomplete campaigns.
Looking through my dad's old AD&D-era notes, maps, and sheets is always a bit of an emotional trip.
e: He's not dead or anything I feel like I should clarify, it's just more that sort of across the years commonality feeling of reverence.

Yeah, after I had at the rules.
Can't trust you lot to balance anything.

I was thinking about running a game, and the answer is really fuckin easy.
You just have to make miniatures, but really, you dont even need to worry about a grid.

Miniatures are overrated, real men use bottle caps, pieces of scrap, torn up pieces of paper, bullets and playing pieces hijacked from random board games.

Coins can be real useful in a pinch.
EDIT: just make sure the GM doesn't swipe everyone's cash at the end of the session. They will if they think they can get away with it. >:(

How do you know it's easy if you've only thought of it?

I mean you have to make representations of all the NPCs and stuff. Not actually painting miniatures.

I was designing a full three sessions for this weird cyberpunk game I was going to run but bailed because I realized nobody would have any knowledge of what was going on.

What was it about then?
What was it about then?
It was this weird mix of John Carter type science fantasy mixed with hard cyberpunk sci-fi with a little western thrown in.
Basically, in the near future, Earth is a cyberpunky and megacorporations rival governments in terms of power. Then, spontaneously, a new planet appears between earth and mars, but much closer to Earth, just one million km off at it's shortest distance.
So thus begins a new frontier, but the governments of earth make a law that no existing power may claim any land for their own on this new planet without forfeiting their possessions back on earth. So the frontier is even more lawless, but still has such a great promise of wealth that it draws in many millions of people.
Of course with the new planet there'd be weird flaura and fauna and also ancient mysteries and shit. But I figure it'd only really interest me, so I kinda stopped working on it.

Seems like a new planet suddenly appearing so close would be disasterous for the solar system and Earth.
