I've had a chance to have a go at DnD next/5e/Pathfinder2eletricboogaloo
I'm on the wall about it honestly, I like the new spell slot system, it allows wizards to be more versatile without making them more powerful. Preparing spells like detect magic is now more viable because you don't waste a slot should it never come up.
However now everyone gets a free 30ft of movement per tern and can be taken at any point, so you can attack them move, or move 15ft then attack then move again. This sounds like it could open up for a whole host of bullshit.
There were some more things but I forget what they were, basically it seems a lot of things that were feats you can just do these days. I suppose if these were feats that you just took because it was damn near the best thing ever, then making it a free thing allows you to take more of the fun feats and traits.
That free movement sounds as if it's going to be overpowered as fuck for mages/rangers
You could always make the rule that after attacking you aren't allowed to move.
That free movement sounds as if it's going to be overpowered as fuck for mages/rangers
but you can already cast spells and move anyway
unless they're full-round spells and honestly the ones you are using in combat are all going to be standard actions anyway
it's not that big a deal, tbh
unless they removed attacks of opportunity then its horrible

The lack of a charge action means melee characters can't move and hit an enemy more than their movement away in one turn, but they can still move up to an enemy and end their turn there, meaning if he moves away they will get an opportunity attack (provided the enemy doesn't perform a disengage).
Also, since thrown weapons are now keyed to strength both for hitting and for damaging, there's no real reason to be a character who doesn't have some way to attack an enemy at range.

There are still opportunity attacks, but only when you move out of reach of an enemy, not when casting spells or shooting (though shooting at melee range gives you disadvantage).
Holy shit there's a Shadowrun game going down? How will the game be played? Pure text, voice chat, both?
I'm preparing everything in Roll20, so it's IC text and OOC voice(preferably over Teamspeak) for faster communication.
That free movement sounds as if it's going to be overpowered as fuck for mages/rangers
It's good for mages and rangers, but since disengage (the only thing that prevents an AoO if you move away) takes up your action, melee folks can't abuse a move-attack-move tactic.

I've actually been really enjoying the new system. Like I said before: combat doesn't take ages to get through. Most shifts in combat can be dealt with through the advantage/disadvantage system. And so far, and maybe this is just because it's low-level, but the combat isn't getting bogged down with a bunch of +X modifiers that have to be calculated all over the place.
4th Ed Shadowrun, best Shadowrun. Very playable right off the bat, though Arsenal is recommended.
I'd only be open to Shadowrun if my dream of playing a pixie marine would be fulfilled. Otherwise it's the pure sci-fi of Cyberpunk (and similar games) for me.

Pixies can also be registered citizens in either France, Ireland (Tír Na Nog or wahtever), or both.

Of course there is. Who else could thwart your dreams so completely?

You cannot escape the pixies. We have people everywhere.

Hail hastur! He who canonizes lame races!
Didn't 5e just come out though. Of course it wouldn't have any content when the only thing that is out are the main rulesets.
The starter set is out, it comes with a book for the basic rules and a 64-page campaign setting, I got mine yesterday. Player's Guide is coming next.
Warforged Juggernaut is a godlike class.

Still better than SURGE.
Fucking furries. And catgirls.

Look on the bright side! You can always pin them in a place where they're bound to get caught by a lynch mob. That's always fun.
Just found this link in my FB feed.

The table of contents points to three magic classes (Sorceror, Wizard and Warlock). I wonder what the major differences are going to be.

Wizard has to prepare specific spells, Sorcerer gets # of spells to cast per day at each spell level, Warlock gets spell-like abilities from a deal with a demon or something like that.
It looks like Sorcerers might have to deal with things like magical after-effects on themselves, if the fluff text at the beginning is anything to go by.
I'm looking for a feat for a fighter 6 / cleric 6 3.5e character. I don't care much for optimization (as you can see by the class picks), so I just want something interesting or cool.

Could I join any campaigns if they come out, I've never played before but it looks pretty cool and I want to try it.

5e introduced wireless as a popular way to access networks
this is an unforgivable crime
