So that map I've been working on for the new Pathfinder campaign I'm running?

Full size is 5734x2867
Version with labels will be posted whenever I finish figuring out what the deal is with all those tiny islands. And if people are interested, I can post the .xcf, which kept track of which real-world places I sliced apart to make this map.
The worlddoc is currently 24 pages, still expanding on a shitton of it. It'll probably end up doubling that.
That's a lot of empty ocean.
[editline]30th August 2014[/editline]
Also a lack of consistent climates.
Honestly... I'm not sure what to think of this.
I mean don't get me wrong or anything the map looks absolutely spectacular(especially in comparison to what I have been making for my own potential D&D (5e) setting) but the archipelago making up the continents seems too obviously spliced together from Earth's sat images. Maybe if you took bigger closeups of the landscape to create the outline, then filled it in with more blank landscape, it could look better.
I might end up tracing it to make more medieval-looking maps. It's just that when I tried to draw one completely from scratch, it ended up being pretty rubbish.

A lot of ocean, I'll give you, but that's mainly because I got rid of most of Siberia and Canada because who the fuck wants to campaign in Siberia or Canada? And the way I did it ended up overlapping things a bit, so some more land was lost that way. I'm thinking of scaling the world down a bit to get a better land/water ratio.
But climates? The all-desert continent might be a bit extreme but I'm not sure what else is weird.

Mostly the all-desert continent.

In other news, kind of related to that Shadowrun game that's starting, I'm hopefully going to be doing Dungeon World. Anybody interested?
For what it's worth I'm hoping to keep it mostly to VOIP(at least on my part, with narration of what's going on and shit) so if you aren't comfortable using Mumble then step aside, nerd. :v:
And then Trooper TPK'd us with skeletons and skeleton ghosts.
[t]http://puu.sh/beKEu.jpg[/t]
I knew it was a bad idea writing a 2000 word backstory for a character with 8 hp

One of you, either the GM, or the players, done fucked up hard.
What happened?
The dice fucked us over hardcore.
The skeletal champion(That guy with the green dot) 1-shotted all of us, even me with my 19 AC.

So you walked in there, prepared, and everyone died because of bad luck.
I mean... I don't wanna SAY the GM fucked up... buuut...
I got hit by with a nice 18+7 against my 15 AC
[editline]31st August 2014[/editline]
It then rolled max damage
[editline]31st August 2014[/editline]
I don't blame the GM, it was fun.

It's a level 1 game
The dice are literally the only thing that went wrong, and since there is almost no margin for error
we played it legit, and the dice were in the open, and there was no fudging. Four important rolls did not go in our favor, and we all died. It was as simple as that. Nobody did anything wrong
Speaking of the undead our DM closed out our 5E oneshot yesterday by chucking a bunch of wights and a banshee at us. Those fucks are nasty, I tell you what.
As for 5E itself, I kinda like what I've seen so far. The book itself is nice and flavorful, and seems geared towards encouraging new players to roleplay. Advantage/Disadvantage really streamlines combat, proficiency really simplifies character building, and neither of them seem to have gone too far. (Though I only have that one session and I've never touched 4E to judge it against)
Last game I punched a giant bird so hard in the face that I emerged in its skull cavity.
HE HAD HUGE GUTS! RIP AND TEAR!

Also meant to say it'll be on Fridays, probably like 5pm-9pm Eastern unless everyone can agree upon a different time.
Fippe has one in Cro's SR game and refuses to let me use it despite me being specced for heavy weapons.
Wouldn't let me drive his APC either, and yet the instant I let him drive my van he crashes it.
Yo, buddy. I rolled first 3 successes and then 7 on my piloting, all that crashing is from the fact that you wanted me to run over some milspec bricks.
[editline]still alive?[/editline]
im like, completely innocent.
you're still not getting to fire the Thunderstruck, it's my baby.
In other worlds, the Star Wars session was basically;
Land on planet, talk to greedy shopkeeper, chase after boisterous party member to underground group, get roped into saving them all, go to outpost, go up lift, take out the guy commanding everything in one round of combat. One slash to cripple him, one to kill guard A, another to kill guard B.
Basically.
Lightsaber combat makes fights end quickly.
Basically.

Guys with lightsabers beat everything except other guys with lightsabers.

This is basically the entire premise of the FFG Star Wars RPG games.
Right now I'm running an Edge of the Empire game where everyone is a criminal. And a Force and Destiny game where everyone is a badass jedi knight.
The power level difference between the two games is astronomical.

A non-jedi can beat a jedi he just has to be prepared and to use MASSIVE overkill. For example, many jedi PCs don't have Sense trained, meaning snipers can take them out pretty easily. The ones that do can still be dealt with via explosives, ship cannons, gas attacks, or any number of ways that their fancy force powers can't stop. It's not as simple as just shooting them, but it is still not THAT difficult.
The easiest way to kill a Jedi is to blow up the planet they're currently on.
Dunno if anybody remembers me but a month or so ago I was asking around for advice as to where somebody new to DnD could look to find a group. As luck would have it my friends were planning on setting one up, and after rolling up our characters and setting up a date we're just about ready to play.
There's a small games shop tucked away behind a strip mall near me, so I'm gonna walk down there and see about picking up some dragonborn minis as a way of supporting the game (everybody got a chance to pitch something except me). I'm pretty excited!

Or you could use some sort of physical object with payload so fast that multiple projectiles fired from its barrel couldn't be observed by the naked eye. Possibly fired using a percussion cap and an small amount of explosive that leaves no light trail behind the payload. But that's silly, those haven't been invented yet!
(slow moving lasers that can be blocked always have and always will bug me)

What about flamethrowers, though? I know Boba Fett had one but in all the EU novels I read I don't think anyone ever tried napalming a Jedi. It seems like the kind of thing that would be harder to block or dodge.

One of Spoony's videos addressed this one. He basically got asked to roll up a character to be the groups pilot, and ended up creating a former jedi hunter who had a pair of wrist mounted flamethrowers that he used to torch one of the sith that his group encountered. It worked out pretty well. Don't remember much else about the video though unfortunately.

Durge tried to burn Obi-Wan with his wrist flamethrower and the fucker just bent the fire out of the way and then crushed the flamethrower with his mind.

Arguably, Kenobi is both prepared to fight such methods (rather than being surprised) and well, takes a bit of a level in badass for no good reason.
