Every time I hear him talk about being a DM he always sounds like he railroads his players.
Or at least doesn't let his players do things because it doesn't fit his idea of how the story should go.
Naw, he does let people have fun and go around and explore shit. He just then begins fucking around with the players - not TPK type stuff, but something to catch them off guard. It's not punishment - just imagine that you are playing New Game+ right off the bat.

And it's not the kind of new game+ where you get to keep all your equipment from your last playthrough and utterly annihilate everything.
Another Gragnark commission, along with the BBEG who the party demolished.

[editline]e[/editline]
But, like, real talk... I really like that art style, who did it for you? (and how much did you lay down for those sweet sweet pixels)
Cost me 5 dollars for that, guy did it in a week.
Cost me 5 dollars for that, guy did it in a week.
Does he have a DeviantArt page or is it just some guy you know?
Does he have a DeviantArt page or is it just some guy you know?
I'll PM you.
Cost me 5 dollars for that, guy did it in a week.
Hot damn, 5 bucks for that? Can you PM me his info too?
NO FUCK YOU ALL HE'S MINEEEE
I'm gonna message him and be like, give me a free commission, I'm getting you tons of traffic.
Only had like $4.80 on my Paypal, and now I have to wait 6-8 business days for money to transfer from my bank account. :(
NO FUCK YOU ALL HE'S MINEEEE
Just for that I'm gonna commission him and pay him six dollars, that way mine takes priority because it pays better :smug:
So- I finally reworked my work schedule, and have a fairly consistent time off now.
Gauging interest for an Exalted 3rd edition game, Thursday or Monday nights, EST.

Wait, who is this guy and where can I request a commission?
Because I've got some money to burn and a few portraits/scenes I'd like commissioned.
I think we're gonna overload the poor sod with work.
And cash.
I want his info too please give.
I'll link it soon.
I'll link it soon.
That guy is crazy talented. And super cheap too.
He's definitely undervaluing his work... but I wont complain because I want my stuff done too!

as an artist who survived on commissions for a while, he's absolutely underselling himself and if he's requesting you don't give away info publicly he's really shooting himself in the foot. Clearly we've got a number of people here who would argue to give him more money themselves, why hinder the process
also on the point of commission junk, I'm actually going to attempt to model my group's characters in zbrush for our first full 5e adventure, and see what it takes to get them 3D printed at a decent resolution so they look alright at as proper scaled figure size. If I can keep the pace and there's some interest, I might open up to modeling for other people
Anyone played Eclipse Phase? I've been playing it with a group of friends for the past few months and I absolutely love it. One character in our group has a multiple personality disorder, so every session my friend rolls to see what personality comes out. Our GM told us that the first mission we had was only suppose to take us one session to complete. Well due to how fucked up our characters were rolled, it took us nearly 5-6 sessions to complete it.

But 3e isn't fully out yet.
Guessing you're planning to run the leak from a while back or something, or this is just for 'when it does finally come out' in which case see you in half a year, probably. :v:

Eclipse Phase is pretty rad, takes some getting used to and speed is broken without the Transhuman variant rules though.
One of the big hurdles I've noticed with Eclipse Phase...well, other than the political bias that reads as preachy anarchist propaganda at times...is that the setting has some pretty concepts that has only just begun to gain any sort of foothold in media: transhumanism, post-scarcity economies, reputation networks, nanofabrication, egocasting, mind uploading. New players might find these themes a bit dense.
The last part, mind uploading, I know has been around for a while, but I noticed it led to a very long discussion in the group I played with about whether or not you're the same person when you are restored from a backup. If you die on Earth, and you're restored on Mars, is that person actually the original you that died in the Fall? If you're infected with the exusrgent virus and turned into an exsurgent and you're restored from backup, are you fighting your "original" self? Is the only way for the original "you" to survive is if your cortical stack is retrieved?
This is why I sympathize with the Jovians in the setting, despite the writers painting them as space North Koreans (at least in the core book; in Rimward they did a better job). As far as they're concerned, "transhumanity" consists almost entirely of clones of people who died on the Fall. Only people who retained their original bodies are still "themselves".
apparently we accidentally completed the campaign just now
Hi guys, I was the DM for this game.
During the final battle the mage was so drunk she couldn't keep her head off the table. This, however, did not stop her from one-shotting the final boss with a 2nd-slot Magic Missile from across the room once she was in a position to shoot at him. :v:

Well, quite frankly then yes. They are, essentially, clones. That doesn't make them any less valid as people.

It the whole teleportation cloning thing
technically, provided we're operating on a reasonably sensible definition of teleportation involving as little magic as possible, the only person for whom there would be a change in perspective would be the person being actually teleported. Their original existence (and thus perceptions) would end, and a new one would be made at the other destination. This would only be noticeable to the person being moved, and the first one would be dead and can't complain and the second would, provided the tech was up to snuff, have a continuity of memories despite being an entirely new body
to an outside observer, it's entirely indistinguishable from the person, but at the end of the day the original is still dead and the new person is still there
but hey, transhumanist future, fuck bitching about that and live a little

I guess it all depends on how you define the "self", but personally as a player I'm not sure I'd like the idea if I was told "hey guess what, everytime you egocast you die but it's okay you continue playing as a clone on the other side!" As far as I know, the only way to preserve your original "self" is if your cortical stack is retrieved, you are revived in a medical vat, or if you resleeve into another morph, which is impractical since to do that you'd need to be at least 10,000 km away to do so.
I guess I sound like a filthy bioconservative Luddite but I really don't like the idea of clones of myself walking around pretending to be me.

I plead the fifth.

But I plan on starting in like a week or two.

This sort of thing is the main reason why I played an AGI in your game. Feels more "natural" for an AGI to go all digital and still be the same "self", it's a lot harder to equate human biochemisty to digital information than it is for a being made in a computer.
