Dumbest thing I've ever done would probably have to be climbing the ledge around the outside of the 98th story of a building, with nothing between my character and the ground (besides maybe some flying cars or something I don't know). Would have slipped and fell too, but I rolled perfectly to get back in when I realized how stupid I was being.
[sp]This was in Appy's Magical Burst game.[/sp]
I tried opening an unlocked pressure door several times by pushing it, then another player just pulled it. Not quite getting another player killed level, just a regular "Ah I see, I'm completely retarded." moment.
Dumbest thing I ever did was cast an AoE fire/light spell centered on another PC because she was standing in the middle of like 6 enemies.
This was dumb because she doesn't have fire or light resistance and the devils had fire immunity so they were already outright ignoring 50% of the damage regardless of saving throws.
I'm having an absurdly hard time answering this question, because I can't quite decide which thing I did was the dumbest.

You forgot the part of the story where I was the only one doing any real damage in the whole party and you called it down on me
and I got a divine GM-fiat saving throw success so I didn't take 36 damage when all of the enemies were taking 8 tops
I guess the dumbest thing I've done is attack some slavers because they didn't think I was worth much. I critically missed with my spell.
The dumbest thing I've done is try to run a Tomb of Horrors dungeon.
It's like the "that guy" of dungeons - it kills all possible fun.

That was like, the 8th time you assholes have raided this poor guy's office. It's no wonder he's getting so sick of your shit.
As for me, dumbest thing I've ever done? Flew under and tried to hold up a city-sized mecha's foot with my own normal-sized, damaged mecha, in an attempt to stop it from stomping the dude I quoted's ass into paste, along with his cybered-up girlfriend, since they were all snuggled together in the same mech.
I was successful too, for a moment. Enough to let him fly out at least. Then I started to give way, and the only reason I lived was because I blew a hole in its foot with a swarm of rocket laser swords and flew out.
[editline]26th September 2014[/editline]
Scratch that, I thought of something dumber. In that same game, Smas up there thought it would be a good idea to leave his post while the base was being assailed by exploding robot spiders. MeltingData and I were out-of-mecha, on foot, exploring an enemy stronghold. When we returned to base, we found a smouldering crater where the mech bay was, and among the ruins of that crater were the scattered remains of our mechas, with Smas nowhere to be found. After hearing the story from some survivors, we borrowed the mecha of some returning scouts, then flew out to chase Smas. When we found him, he was in a room talking with who we suspected at the time was the BBEG. The same BBEG who killed indiscriminantly and kidnapped my wife.
So me and Data, pissed at Smas for blowing up out mechas, crash into the building, eject from our mecha, and double elbow drop Smas, completely ignoring the BBEG. He got away, of course, and we ended up driving the three of us through like, 10 floors.
After watching The Prince of Egypt, I kind of want to do something similarly biblical, either the "chosen" of two religions fighting a war that their deities don't support or two groups of (or just two singular) jerkass gods making their chosen people fight against their better judgement. Or something.
Then again I also have the idea of having a party of all bards and them solving major problems by making songs to work their magic, which would be impossible unless I actually had a band as the players. But it would be magnificent to have the players perform "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" (or "Beelzeboss") in order to stop Lucifer from rising out of Hell or whatever. Also having a party of villians being rescued after death from the nine hells in order to have one last chance at redemption, like Celestial Community Service.
If I hear any of you have stolen any of these ideas I'm going to come to your house and cut you bad.

I dream too big and sweat too little.

There is literally a biblical era based Pathfinder book. Feel free to use that.

I wouldn't want to do actual Bible stuff, that might be too useful of knowledge to actually look up stuff about the real world. I just need the big ol' epic miracles and cosmic forces and stuff.

And somehow I was no worse for wear. It's incredible what 10 luck can do for you in Mekton, it's totally the best stat.
And speaking of Mekton, I was always stupidly lucky regardless of my luck stat in general. The RNGods must have smiled upon me, because towards the end there it was a common occurrence for me to roll over 50 on rolls that mattered, like that 82 to insta-gib what amounted to a Godzilla sized Jello monster, or that 52 in leadership to shit on a guy's desk. [sp]The desk promptly caught fire and the only things left were the clues I needed to find previously mentioned cybered girlfriend.[/sp] Those were good times.
I guess I should mention that this was a d10 system, where an average roll is [I]maybe[/I] around 15.

There was also the time I rolled maybe a 60 or so on my Navigation skill to navigate through the castle, and I ended up just charging through a few walls into the room where my ladyfriend was waiting.
[editline]26th September 2014[/editline]
I also stole the BBEG's talking parrot.

We're missing the part where the GM decided that giving us a machine full of a drug that gives you a +10 was a good idea, and how I took enough of it that he just gave up on rules.
Mekton was a silly campaign.
My dumbest move? My techpriest deciding that dropping all his grenades and sprinting out of the room would be a good solution to being cornered. Thing is, the room was small and an unconcious party member and the plot-critical NPC we had to save were also inside...
PCs are cheap and there's always another plot.

That is the raddest pathfinder supplement I've ever seen.
"Monsters of the Israelite Mythos p115...
...Demon, Sin p126"
Awesome.

It was supposed to be a real-robot campaign. But when you have four fans of super robot anime in the same group, how the fuck were we supposed to stay serious :v:
Got a question in here for everyone since you all play DnD (obviously): do any of you play Magic? They're both owned by Wizards and most people I know who play DnD also dabble a bit in Magic (or a lot) as well.
Just a question since I've never once seen a TCG thread here on Facepunch, ever.
[QUOTE=elowin;46083720]wow that's terrible on the GM's part
almost reminds me of another GM
and maybe a helicopter[/QUOTE]
Even if you jettisoned the helicopter rotors elsewhere it'd still hit the ground!

You mean Magic the Gathering? I believe there is a facepunch thread about it.
[editline]27th September 2014[/editline]
Nevermind, all the threads are dead.
it inordinately pleases me that I already have a fanclub in Shadowrun
granted, it's probably the creepy sort of fanclub, since the rise of it is centered around snuff BTL's we were unintentionally a part of, but hey I'm not going to complain if street urchins will pay me to get autographs to hock to other people
and I'm sure I'm going to regret this but hey it's a pink mohawk party subtlety has kind of been out the window for a while now, and considering we're declaring open season on the Yakuza next session it's probably going to become a lot less so

I don't play MtG, but two of my IRL players are heavily into it.

My friends all play it to some extent but I'm the exception since I don't have the money to support the habit, more or less. Also I remember seeing a MTG thread around here a while back but I don't think it's that active anymore.
On the second Shadowrun session, we have become war criminals, terrorists. Awful opportunists who may have secretly fired the first shot (well, more like rammed the first truck rigged with explosives) in a bloody conflict between two African nations. More importantly, we became vastly more wealthy.
What the fuck do I even do with 360k Nuyen?
