I have more than that planned to spend in cyberlegs along on my SR character, I'm sure you can think of something.
Ran my first session of the zombie campaign, had to be kind of short owing to time constraints (only a few hours) so we didn't get much done beyond the first major challenge, and that was clearing out the inn. Now the party has the loot, the experience, a decent stock of food supplies (most of it preserved) and two survivors (one of the maids and the innkeeper's daughter, whose pet cat also survived.) The highlights include the party beating two carrion crawlers in the basement, a nice fight with a large group of undead in a common room, and finding a few magic wands and potions in an emergency cache that might come in handy. All of them have enough XP to advance to level 2 (we have 4 in the party) and will probably be largely advancing without training to keep things fast-paced unless by discretion. The party's next stop will be the nearby church to see if the local clerics have survived. They don't yet know how most of the population wound up as the living dead.
They'd be pretty worthless clerics if they didn't survive. I'd be like Aquaman dying in Noah's flood.

Well, that depends on if any survived the initial burst of negative energy responsible for the apocalypse in the first place :v: Barring that, any who were untouched will probably be holed up behind wards to keep out the living dead.

what snake didn't mention was that we already went to an african village and recruited two dozen people to fight for us (as a distraction)
what i didn't mention there was that none of us speak a lick of their language and we pretty much resorted to pulling out weapons and shouting about money and the blood of their enemies
we are already msf

The thing that drops out is a Slime and basically landed directly on top of the low HP Wizard thanks to the rogue smashing the ball above him.
so this morning I finally figured out how to make an effective decker in Shadowrun
and I am terrified at the potential for mayhem
also how incredibly easy it is to switch up your deck configs for different threats
plus since they share so many abilities might put the rest of my skills into rigging things and carry around a few gun drones
plus we don't have a decker anyway right now so if my current sammy bites it, perfect backup to have

The unconscious low-hp wizard, in spite of what that drawing is showing.
Played my first game of Shadowrun, apparently summoning spirits in 4th Edition to help cover your pther spells isn't the best idea.
Any advice to playing Shadowrun? The mix of sci-fi and fantasy is a good mix to keep everyone in my usual group entertained, but the time we tried playing it, it just turned out as a complexity clusterfuck. Is it just a matter of getting use to the system? Or do most people just kind of ignore the crunchier bits?
#1 piece of advice
frag grenades in confined spaces
not even once

In my experience the crunch in the system can't really be ignored wholeheartedly. You can trim at the edges but it's not exactly ignorable. To put it in less metaphorical terms: you're playing three mini games in one: Astral, Matrix, Meat World. It takes a damn good GM to juggle all three of those at any given time if he and the group wants to be good with time.

If you don't know how the rules work, have the GM tell you to doll some d6 and see how many hits you get.
I think part of our problem is we tried dividing up the rules by having one person play a mage, and read that part of the book, one person play a decker, and he read that stuff, etc. In retrospect, we should have all just made Street Samurais and learned the basics before trying to jump directly into the deep end.
Yeah, as a GM keeping track of all three is a pain in the ass, especially if your players are using a lot of stuff that shows up on more than one 'plane', like drones and spirits.
I'm thinking about running a W40k RP game at my locale game store after the our current black crusade game ends. I know most of our group is action focused and our BC GM said he would do a Deathwatch game but this game has left him tired of GMing for a while.
Most of the group were excited for Deathwatch so I'm most likely doing that but one of the member is a lot more into intrigue then action and her friend said that the game is broken to core so I don't know.
I'm still pretty new to table RPG's so If anyone could give some advice it would be much appreciated.
In regards to the WH40k RPG games, release date determines how excellent they are. You might be better off playing Guardsmen in Only War instead of Deathwatch for the chance to basically be the A Team instead of Superhuman Action Express.
My friends all play it to some extent but I'm the exception since I don't have the money to support the habit, more or less. Also I remember seeing a MTG thread around here a while back but I don't think it's that active anymore.
It's honestly not as expensive as many people put it out to be. You can make a decent deck on just $30.
Hell, two of my strongest decks are worth about that much. The only times you're going to throw in a huge money sink is when you're making an EDH deck (people go ape with that format).
[editline]29th September 2014[/editline]
But I think you do have the 'habit' part right though. It's almost compulsively draining my money from me. Only a little at a time though, but it's still doing it. Almost as much as video games.

I was thinking about doing a Only War game, I have a few ideals for one involving my BC character's splinter war band so I might go with Only War and I ask the guys at my group.
Doesn't one of only war splat books have rules for Traitor regiments? Wonder how hard it be to make a Khorne one..

You can just run it as usual only for KAYOZZ, since regular guardsmen aren't BC level corrupted. At least, not yet!

The funny thing was my character in that game was started as a rip off of Drebin, and all that is left over of that idea is that I'm riding around in an APC giving out guns to people. I just need a pet monkey, a vending machine and some magical octo camo shit on the APC and I can start ripping him off from the ground up.
Among the loot we pinched from the inn were some magical items for the party to use and a fair bit of magic in scrolls, potions, and wands. The prize acquisitions were an emerald set gold ring worth 1,000 gp, a platinum ring set with a small diamond worth 500 gp, a fair bit of jewelry (100-200 gp value mainly) and some stashed funds belonging to the innkeeper; 15 black pearls, each worth 500 gold. I had a discussion with my players last night about their next course of action; they could make a side trip to the innkeeper's residence to pillage it of any useful items and magic, or else go straight ahead to the local church. The party voted to pillage the residence. I plan on having some surprises for them there.
I'm having trouble of thinking of what gear to get a Physical Adept that's also primarily a martial artist. One of the bonuses of being them is they're not dependent on gear, but it makes building a shopping list a lot harder.
