should be something grandiose yet really unceremonious
like a swarm of sturges summoned by a blatant trap, attaching and flying away with him
This post reminded me of our last session where stirges kept getting crits on the Cleric.
As a note to everyone: Our cleric has THE worst luck in basically every campaign.
This campaign he got swatted by a half-dragon, and is constantly getting crit
Last campaign he was the aforementioned gnome bard. I also kept throwing the party against (randomly rolled) monsters that were unaffected by bard spells
Campaign before that had him getting petrified by a basilisk. The only one to have that happen during that fight
Campaign before THAT had him, full plate-armored, walking in to a magnetic cave and getting stuck to the ceiling.
That sounds like something I would do.
Except probably a cute little puppy instead.
A wizard puppy.
A Werechihuahua would be funny as heck.

I didn't know you owned a tumblr. Also, nice comic.

You know were-poms, no matter how stupid they may seem, could actually have some basis in a less than ridiculous game. Both humans and pomeranians are the products of neotony, which is a real fancy way of saying that we both carry younger traits into adulthood. Why not bring our lesser muscle mass, strange smooshed faces, and over all child-like appearance compared to our ape cousins into our were-dogs in the form of something that silly? So go, you bastion of all things fluffy, go become that were-teacuppoodle that you always wish you were.
This page is all about my obsession with dogs apparently.
OHOHOHHOHOHO I am SOOOO fucking pissed right now!
I just found out that one of my players fucking fudged his dice rolls like a fucking champ when rolling up his character. Motherfucker called me and asked if he could roll a new character before the session we had last weekend on the ground that he didn't like his character and wanted to try something he hadn't played before. Motherfucker apparently didn't roll under a 13, in fact he rolled 3 16's, a 17, 13, and 18. Now I try to trust my players quite a bite, and just figured he got REALLY lucky, I mean, they are dice, shit happens right? OHOHOHOHO, FUCK NOPE, asshole rolled 5d6's for his stats and subtracted the lowest 2, plus I'm pretty sure there were a few re-rolls in there. The way you do in in 3.5, 4d6 sub the lowest. Or 3d6 straight with one reroll depending on how you want to play. There is no 5d6 rule that I am aware of other than epic variant rules that aren't even in the book.
I really fucking hate it when people abuse my trust, and shit sucks for him because he's going to die next session and have to re-roll another character in front of all of us. That's four sessions and 3 characters for one guy. Since he only made it 2 sessions with the first character. Everybody gets one freebie drop, sort of a courtesy for if they try something new and don't like it as much as something else.
I'm not even sure if I'm going to call him out for his bullshit next session, but he's been a massive fucking That Guy for all four of them so far. I have six players and honestly, the guy who wanted to play a dire wolf is looking like a better pick over him at this point.
Well, in a 5th edition oneshot I managed to end up with a statline of 17, 17, 18, 16, 11 in a 4d6 drop lowest. The entire group was witness to it, as it happened in roll20.
A Werechihuahua would be funny as heck.
always wanted to play as a weredachshund
just a chill kinda hipstery dude who becomes a lowrider dog when the full moon hits and bites enemies' ankles

Dachshunds are actually badger hunting dogs (Dachs = Badger, Hund = Dog) , that's why they're so long and so low. A weredachshund would be terrifying to anything that could burrow. Also they are some of the most agressive dogs there are; if they were huge their bites might hurt more and they'd be fuckin terrifying.
...
I work with dogs. I'm not weird and obsessive I swear....
yeah a weredachshund would make a perfect noir detective: snoop around all the time, be totally unassuming and do most of your work in low places (literally and figuratively)
kinda like columbo
now I kinda wanna play that, especially if the rest of the party is the stereotypical werewolf: the whatevering ~warrior werewolves~

Like I said, benefit of the doubt rolls until it happens often or I get players snitching, and I had snitches this time.

When will stitches be administered to the snitches?
When will stitches be administered to the snitches?
Pff. That's for the cheater to figure out because almost the entire group was there when he rolled the character. Sans me and the guy I carpool'd with. (Kinda sucks to drive with a broken foot.)
I'm pretty sure he couldn't give one guy stitches, much less four of them.
This Tengu Inquisitor in my Pathfinder game has shot like 20 dudes with his longbow over the past couple sessions. And every single shot was a hit. Every single roll to hit was like a 13 or higher. I have yet to see him roll a nat 1 on anything at all. I think he's blessed.
I'll be doing my third session for the campaign tomorrow, we're going to make our way to the local temple now to try and save any surviving clergymen in the town. The local canon will prove an invaluable aid to the party (and might even join the group to adventure) if he gets rescued.
Starting tomorrow I'm going to be with a different group and it's Pathfinder this time.
I have never played Pathfinder before. Someone pls halp

I'm reading a little bit and I have decided to be a 2ft tall frog druid, but otherwise I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing since stats are not random, among other things :v:

If you've played D&D 3.5, you'll know what you're doing.
Okay, one of my friends is making it sound more complicated than it actually is, I'm reading a few things online now.

It ain't complicated at all really, the rules are pretty average weight.
Tell him about HERO System, that should shut him up about it being complicated. 400 pages are dedicated to character creation alone.
FOUR HUNDRED PAGES. All of which is shit you need to know. Only RPG nerds have that kinda time.
The druid convinced the rest of the party in my game to help her find a dire bear to tame, I thought sure, a more powerful animal companion for the tree hugger elf, that'd be cool.
Next thing I know her and the fighter are beating it unconscious, dragging it back into town on a cart, bring it into my alchemist's lab and tell me to start making sedatives.
lolno, I'm CN and they're both good aligned and they didn't see the moral issue with beating random animals unconscious, chaining them up and drugging them until it obeys the druid without question, that'd be torture against something intelligent.

Also, that was while we were supposed to be investigating a crime syndicate, NPCs are questioning our motivations.

Cruelty to animals in pathfinder is arguably worse than cruelty to humans in pathfinder.
Because like, 90% of human NPCs are neutral and gruff and hate you, or straight want to kill you.
But animals are always neutral, and helplessly dumb.

Most of the NPCs have either not given a fuck or we've been actively working against them so you know how that goes. So far the biggest threat to things so far is the druid going off the rails to do stupid shit and try to catch animals, with the sorc doing the same thing minus the animals.

At least you don't have chaotic good characters willing to massacre people for the stupidest of reasons.

It sounds like youre talking about someone in particular.
Had to reschedule for next weekend or the week after. We'll see how this goes.
