Hunter: The Vigil is better solely on the fact that you can give all those edge darkness within me anti-heros a shotgun blast in the back and set them on fire.
Poor Changelings and Promethians, they just want to be left in peace.
This sounds like Supernatural: the RPG without all the dumb heaven/hell war shit (ie fucking great)
That's basically what it is. You are literally people who hunt monsters.
Demons are also an optional enemy, as are Angels technically, but there is no heaven or hell so there isn't really anything to do with that kind of metaplot.
(Also nWoD Angels are even bigger douchebags than nWoD Demons.)

nWoD angels and demons are basically programs from the Matrix except lame.
As an extention, eww not playing the greatest RPG ever made forever; Changeling: The Lost.
Changeling: The Lost, to me, always feels like "Rape Victim RPG", based on the really loose way they describe how PTSD'ed you got from the fairy world.
What's a good amount of total amount of treasure acquired (ie over the course of the entire dungeon, not just what the boss monster shits out when he dies) for a party of 5 for their very first dungeon of the campaign?
Is Changeling: The Lost one of those games which you can't play in person for the fear of your family and friends finding out
yes

If it says "White Wolf" the answer is yes.

No, it's one of those games that changes your whole life.

and this is why I tend to avoid WoD games

It's still up there, orbiting the planet, spitting out rare animals onto the planet every once in a while. It's a second god in the planet's mythos, known as the protector, though in truth it's more dormant than anything. Would be really bad if it was somehow recalled to the surface though.

It really depends on the game, and how wealthy you want your party to be.

D&D/PF? About 1000gp each, assuming they make it to level 2 doing it.

Like Funk said, parts of Changeling are basically rape metaphors, same with Vampire, Mage, Werewolf, Promethean and Hunter don't really have that except if vamps or changelings show up.

wait what where's the rape metaphor in mage
unless you mean raping the universe with your reality bending powers
which is rad
I think he meant to put a period between Vampire and Mage.
Anyone here ever play Everyone Is John?
Seems like a good tabletop for beginners

I wouldn't really do it as a beginning thing, since it basically just encourages doing crazy shit.
Not to say that crazy shit is a bad thing, but it will just set them up to /always/ do crazy shit.

That's a fair point. However, how crazy a game is is half the players and half the GM, even if some games lean more to crazy shit than others. Its how, say, the Fallout PNP can have both Pony Dimensions and people mercy killing their own dad. As long as you establish which settings can be more comical than others, it shouldn't be a problem.
Also I highly doubt the people I plan on playing with will ever be able to be serious.
Last time I played Everyone is John, my personality thought it was a pigeon. His goal was to poop on people. I had the ability to accurately aim my poops.

Comma instead of a period, whoops, I meant Vamp and Changeling are rape-y, the rest aren't
would there be any interest in a game set in a hellmoo-esque environment
would there be any interest in a game set in a hellmoo-esque environment
does that include raping kids
would there be any interest in a game set in a hellmoo-esque environment
Depends which parts.
Underaged orphan rape with the victim being thrown down a flight of stairs/into a furnace? Nope.
Endless player murder with constant crying over theft and griefing? Nope.
Post-apoc scavengers cobbling weapons and equipment together out of the ruins of the previous civilisation to defend their city/gain personal power/because they can? Hell yes.

i remember pushing an orphan kid who had a furry description down the stairs until they died so if that was you im sorry for ruining the game for you
I don't know man, pushing people down a flight of stairs isn't something you usually do in a tabletop RPG.

I had a player do that. It was a set of trick stairs that went flat and opened up into a pit of spikes.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's super rare because no game tends to account for those double digit god-like NPCs to break their neck when descending down a stairway in their super overdecorated castle.
