Power Girl is Earth 2's Supergirl, saved from the cosmic retcon of Crisis on Infinite Earths by being a ...ahem, popular character. Nowadays no-one really know how she manages to exist, I've not fully wrapped my head about Supergirl or Power Girl's histories. Still, she doesn't have it as bad as Donna Troy.
My group went through a portal and we ended up in a forest. There was a path going forward, and a path going backward. We paid attention to the one going forward, since we heard a group of footsteps coming towards us. Unbeknownst to us, someone was trying to sneak up on us to see what we were doing from behind. He failed miserably, probably because me and a teammate had a passive 24 and 26 perception, and he rolled abysmally on his sneak. We didn't care, because he wasn't attacking us, but the group coming towards us was an orc scouting party. We had 3 of our party members run into the edge of the forest and wait a moment. The party member who also had the high perception waited with me in the clearing. We posed as lovers that were lost in the forest and needed directions. The orcs looked really confused until our wizard ran into the open and hit them with an attack.
Fast forward a little bit, while I learned how to effectively tank all the damage for 2 turns and only have lost 6 health. We killed most of the orcs and then surrounded the dire boar that was with the orcs, and holy shit it was so funny. We all hit it with something that knocked it prone or immobilized it and then began beating the shit out of it until our druid fucked up when he was casting chill wind and threw himself into the canopy above us and got stuck.
The "one who was sneaking up on us" at the beginning was actually another PC who was being introduced. He tried to help by shooting out the vines that were holding our druid 20 feet in the air. He missed his first shot, but his second one managed to critically miss and hit the druid, causing him to panic and turn into a bear, and then charge the new PC. He almost killed him, but eventually settled for throwing him into the last orc while the rest of us were still on the boar.
We got the boar down to 0 health, and in a last ditch attempt to kill one of us, he gored me and almost killed me. I healed, and then I healed again once we were out of combat, so I was fine. We let the boar live and it seemed pretty thankful for it. We're considering taming it as a pet, and then mounting it while we ride into combat. The only problem is we're all disagreeing with who gets to ride it. The main contenders in the argument are our druid, our ardent, and myself (the warden tank).
Would anyone here feel like DMing an online game for some of the beginners like myself who posted here? (US EST Time)

I can't DM, but that sounds like something I would want to do.
[editline].[/editline]
And also in my timezone.
I'm in MST(without DST so effectively PST for now) but I'd totally be up for joining.
Hey if we do this what version are we going to run? I remember from Spoony's videos that his favorite game was Pathfinder since it was like a patched 3rd edition, and if you guys want to run that you can get all the info here.
Pathfinder is really good, I recommend you play that if you want to play D&D.
But you probably shouldn't be a Bard in Pathfinder, they're even more underpowered than in 3.0 D&D and that is saying a lot.
I'd love to play with you but i'm European, and I don't have the energy to stay up all night to catch a game.
Pathfinder would be fine with me, I think, but I have a question about the player races.
The core races list has gnomes, dwarves, elves, humans, half elf/orc, and halflings. That's like a list of my least favorite fictional races, plus humans.
I see the 'Other races' column. Are those playable, or just information about them?

I'm pretty sure any race they list there is playable. I was planning on playing a Tiefling, in fact.
I'd be up for joining a pathfinder game :v:
I got into it a few months ago so I'm fairly experienced in it, though I haven't played any games online yet.
(US EST here)
Fetchlings are pretty cool.
I like the description of the Tengu
So we have 4 PCs (Me, Newbienice99, Rats808, and Psycho_Shadow); now we just need a DM.
Anyone up for it?
I too would like to play if there is room for another (5) but DMing online is not my forte.
I bought the Pathfinder beginner's box. That is all.
I'm still not sure if I want a rogue or a wizard.
Or something else.
I've been asked to get into D&D by some friends for like 2 years now and although I enjoy fantasy rpgs and stuff like that, it seems like you need to know a thousand rules and little details to get into it, or maybe it's just what it looks like to me, guess I'll cave in and accept next time I get invited. Should I read anything specific just for a starting game? (they use 4e rules)

For 4e? Nah, not really just have the book handy if you're struggling.

I'm new too, and I've just been finding that going through the steps of creating a character (even if that is not the one you will use) is really helpful for understanding some of the basics. I'm hoping that once I understand (most) of that, the GM guided gameplay will come somewhat easier. Rolling for hits, and whatnot.
If that pathfinder game gets going and no one else is set in stone about being one, i am most certainly going to be a wizard. been too long since i've done that.
I'm probably gonna be team rogue then.
im in the mood to be a kobold sorcerer.
i will eat those negatives ability scores and enjoy it.
The "Hero's Handbook" in the Beginner Box only has 4 classes and 3 races... Got dice and junk like that though.

Why does my d4 have 3 numbers on each face?

3 numbers each on 4 faces, whatever number lands face up is the roll.
3 numbers each on 4 faces, whatever number lands face up is the roll.
What? But there's 3 numbers on every face, how does that work?
What? But there's 3 numbers on every face, how does that work?
I think you take whatever face is pointing at you and whatever number is on top of the other 2 is what the roll landed on.
If anyone wants to DM that beginner campaign, PM me or add me on Steam.

There's only 2 ways a 4 sided dice could work, because it's basically a 3-sided pyramid:
1. A number on each face, the face that lies down is the result.
2. 3 numbers on each face:
- Face 1: Has numbers 2, 3 and 4
- Face 2: Has numbers 1, 3 and 4
- Face 3: Has numbers 1, 2 and 4
- Face 4: Has numbers 1, 2 and 3
With each number adjacent to its respective face. Say you're looking at face 1, to it's right you have face 2, to it's left you have face 3 and under it you have face 4, meaning no matter how it lands, the number facing up on that face will be the same on all the exposed faces, and that's the number you want. This just takes out the inconvenience of having to lift the dice to look at what number ended up facing down (or look at the others and figure out which one is missing).
Doing my first CoC game! We're doing "The Haunting," and my PCs decided to just rush straight towards the house.
One of them nearly went temporarily insane when he came across a flesh-bound book, and my other friend's character is basically the farmer-version of Old Man Henderson.
[editline]12th March 2013[/editline]
He ended up going temporarily insane and babbling Spanish :v:
After successfully killing Corbitt with his .32 revolver, Electrical Consultant Philip Chandler Brown proceeded to angrily confront the Landlord about the house's flesh-bound books, rat issue, bloody mess, and magical happenings.
When the police proceeded to arrest him, he started firing, while our other PC, Ted, escaped from the hospital (despite his infected injuries from Corbitt), stole an ambulance with his 99% disguise skill, rammed it into the local bar, and joined Philip in the shootout.
By the time everything was finished, they needed a full police force just to run the two investigators down to the Asylum.
