Given the amount of arson and property damage I've caused in games that give you far less access to things like meltabombs and such, Dark Heresy sounds like my kind of game.
Spends his cash on looking flash and burning down your fucking house
Spends his cash on looking flash and burning down your fucking house
Did I ever tell you about the time I leveled a petrol station with a revolver in a World of Darkness game?
Did I ever tell you about the time I leveled a petrol station with a revolver in a World of Darkness game?
No, although I'm sure it was for a good reason at the time and definetely not just because you were looking for an excuse to explode something. :v:
No, although I'm sure it was for a good reason at the time and definetely not just becuase you were looking for an excuse to explode something. :v:
I actually fired and missed at a guy who was supposed to be our lead, but I thought they were something supernatural, he happened to be standing in front of one of those caged areas where they keep LPG canisters. No one died and the fire was put out, but not before it spread to the shop and burnt most of it down, so I guess "leveled" is an exaggeration :v: [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] The only time I've caused unnecessary amounts of property damage intentionally was when I burnt down a warehouse in Shadowrun out of being too lazy to clear the building and having white phosphorus grenades I was too damn tempted to use.
So Dark Heresy was last night, my first ever attempt to run a game of anything and I have to say I think it could have gone a lot worse. I learned a lot of about structuring a mission, what to prepare ahead of time and what I think I can reasonably improvise on spot and I think next time I'll be a little better at handling group dynamics. In regards to what actually happened, the Acolytes wound up potentially blinding someone, pissing off an entire Gang, announcing their code phrase to everyone, shooting their best source of information, inventing a street gang that doesn't exist with the worst name imagineable (Bluebirds rule!), attempting to lie to the Adeptus Arbites inside of a precinct house, attempting to soothe the pain of the machine spirit in a rusted Elevatus, scaring some Junkies witless, trying to steal the murder weapon from a crime scene "because I want two guns", getting shot at, lamenting the death of a TV during said gunfight, causing mass disturbances by raining corpses down onto a street and getting an innocent man and his shop burned to the ground. It's going to be a hell of a debrief.
My role as the Psyker: To terrify junkies and blind bar women whilst running face first through every door we encounter without inhibition. Hey, we may be getting unwanted attention but any publicity is good publicity. -Thuglife- Bluebirds 4ever -Thuglife-
My role as techpriest Scream when tvs fall, soothe old elevators, awkwardly walk up to people in bars while in my full mechanicus vestiments And now next section I get to be field medic :o) [editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
Rear no longer has reason to criticize my shitty corpse drawing. [editline]14th May 2013[/editline] Speaking of which, if you're not one of those who has been graced with the wonder of my shitty maps, here's what I'm talking about. i m the greetist artest
Rear only drew the house outline real quickly, all the mess was my drawing. Look at the sad, dead tv :(
I could go on about the exalted game I played last year or I could just say that this pretty much sums up our beach episode session
Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking love Exalted? I might even run an Exalted game, I love Exalted so much.
I hate how in D&D every choice I make somehow fucks us all over. So there's these 4 giant spires, right? And this harlequin knight is studying the formula to unlife on these spires, right? The logical thing to do was to destroy one of the towers, right? Turns out the spire was an egg for a giant antimagic snake construct that spouts bad erotic fanfics about Street Sharks.
Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking love Exalted? I might even run an Exalted game, I love Exalted so much.
Exalted is the shit, I would join that in a heartbeat if I could somehow fit it into my schedule and there was space for another player. That said, it really blows how you pretty much need a bunch of the supplements because that almost half the core rulebook is dedicated to fluff, which doesn't leave enough space for a lot of the actual content.
One thing as a GM I did not anticipate was the party killing their first and most promising lead. They needed to find someone who was linked with a crime a couple of years before, however their only living lead on the matter was a guy called Big Vern, who now ran the local Gang's protection rackets. After jumping Big Vern, here's my artistic interpretation of what happened. [t]http://puu.sh/2U1PM.png[/t] I actually had to throw in an extra lead after that otherwise the entire investigaiton would've come to a screeching halt.
Multi-classing as a Paladin/Sorceror, bad idea or worst idea?

Most of what makes the game awesome is the lore and stuff; The setting is what makes the game, in my opinion. Anyway, I was thinking Sundays. [editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
Multi-classing as a Paladin/Sorceror, bad idea or worst idea?
Bad Idea. Paladins use Charisma and offer high saves and special abilities to a sorcerer build... But as a rule I never multiclass full casters, or you're pretty much crippling your spellcasting.
Anyway, I was thinking Sundays.
Count me in. If you are doing it, I mean. [sp]that rhymes[/sp]

Also damnit, sundays are pretty hard for me to do. :v:
Multi-classing as a Paladin/Sorceror, bad idea or worst idea?
ew ew ew dont do it you'll criple yourself even worse than I would ever do and holy shit do I sometimes cripple my characters hard
I require/demand/want both of you in the game, so we'll need to work out a day/time everyone can manage. :v: [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] I think I will run the game. We'll start with second edition and do a conversion to third when it comes out. I have a job though, which means sometimes we may need to reschedule the day/time.

Especially these next few weeks because of exams.

On Sunday, any time works for me, but I sometimes work evenings. Friday I run a tabletop pathfinder game from 6-12 also. Other days work fine, but they're much more likely to need rescheduling.
My thursdays are busy, so I can`t play on those.
2-4ish PM on sundays would be perfect for me, but that would be really early for you since i'm in GMT +2.
Yeah, we might need to go with something later in the day (Because that's early, and also because I want a longer session) :v: Which means we probably can't do it on Friday or Saturday. How's Wednesday for each of you? It's the weekday I'm most likely to get off on any given week.
One thing you guys are forgetting is my sweet one liner. "Do you know who was the brains behind this operation" "Jon Holt" "Thank you... speaking of brains." Blam. So really, which is more important, finding our main lead and not getting shot, or the opportunity for one liners?
Yeah, we might need to go with something later in the day (Because that's early, and also because I want a longer session) :v: Which means we probably can't do it on Friday or Saturday. Wednesday would be a fair bit harder for me to do than sunday but still possible I guess, just still can't start too late.
In time you'll come to appreciate my psychopathic style of investigation. I for one would like to be able to carry out our jobs without the dm having to make up a whole new setup on the spot. IC you're hindering the investigation, OOC you're making things harder for the brand new dm
I don't think anything we did created THAT big a setup change, apart from shooting the fat guy.
No, not this time. But this is a minor job, a proving mission. If you pull similar shit in high class imperial society, you're gonna be in heavy shit.
Hopefully we will tread somewhat carefully.
