So our planescape ended with us killing Malcolm McDowell and Tim Curry and then getting a wish from a void creature who's puppy we took care of.
I wished to be able to sap other beings of their beneficial qualities by touch.Long story short; I was touching the void creature when I made the wish.
Luckily, our mascot Tanuki wished for everyone to be happy and successful regardless of what we wished for.
Everybody was happy except for my character because everything he touched dies and he makes things explode with his thoughts.
Should have asked to "Sap other beings of their beneficial qualities by touch at will."
Then it only happens when you want it to. :v:

Someone should DM a king maker game. All this talk about it really makes me want to play it.

As i said before i would wholeheartedly join another one if it went anywhere
I'd join it, though I would like a campaign where each player builds a kingdom using ultimate campaign and try to destroy each other, but I have very little idea how to work it.

From what i understand that would be impossible to do on a normal start at level 1 game. Maybe if you just skip everything and go straight to kingdom building, but then each kingdom would have to have its own party to fill in all of the offices required to even run the kingdom.
I don't think you're listening to me. I'm saying throw out the whole quest and shit, and make your kingdom from the ground up. Hell, make an entire realm from the ground up. That'd be cool as shit.
You could have your kingdom go to war with a whole different kingdom, with everything that would entail, defending the realm from mass invasions, shit like that.
Then you're not doing Kingmaker though.
Then you're doing your own campaign which also happens to involve kingdom building.
Or we could play Demon: the Fallen...

good luck with that

Someday, someday, someday...
Pathfinder Ultimate Campaign has rules for Kingdom Creation outside of the Kingmaker module, although it assumes the PCs are all cooperating and not fighting each other.
Also in this regard a "Kingdom" can be any kind of holding, from a town to a castle to an empire.

I have to say this is probably the best Pathfinder splatbook I've read.
So, I'm GMing my first campaign of Pathfinder for a few friends using Roll20 and teamspeak (some of them have problems with the built in VOIP of roll20) and I've managed to scrape together a few interesting campaign ideas. Mostly some villains or recurring NPCs. I really like one of my ideas, enough so that I asked a /tg/ drawfriend to illustrate it for me.
Behold, the Heli-Lich.

Where should I start if I want to get into DnD
Where should I start if I want to get into DnD
Start by reading the material of whatever system you want to join.
That is, Pathfinder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com for most rules and stuff, Pathfinder itself is an "improvement" on DnD 3.5), DnD (big question is, which version? 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 5, etc), or some other tabletop RPG? There are a lot of options out there, each offering different systems with their own drawbacks and such.
Pathfinder is one of the more oft-played systems, but plenty of people play straight DnD and other systems.

I want to get the pdf, but I'm not DM'ing any campaigns anytime soon. I'm guessing it's not too great for just players?

It condenses all of the current traits down into one chapter, and has story based feats. It also has the rules for making a side business, hiring guards, and re-training stats and feats and class archetype.

No, theres a whole section for randomly rolling up characters with really great background and traits...
Which... from my experience, a lot of players need. I've seen too many chars with no background.
In place of my usual dnd story, have a link to a Shadowrun story that made me chuckle.
On the topic of dnd, I'm pretty sure that the 3 of us that have been putting up with our DM's shit have officially decided to drop him and switch to Eclipse Phase. Our new dm is going to be the same person who dm'd our short-lived cyberpunk campaign (which only stopped because it got in the way of our dnd sessions when we had a decent dm).
We even got 2 more people to agree to join in, so there's going to be the dm and 4 players, unless our current dm doesn't flip his shit and still wants to play with us, in which case we'll have 5.

but that would entail the kingdom needing to be formed, and that's the issue.

The shit I have to put up with as GM.
Don't even get me started on the Spycraft campaign's overview of our first mission.

Everyone keeps saying PF is an improvement to 3.5e. I have only ever played 3.5e, and I've gotten curious - what does PF improve?

So someone drew the entire thing then? I drew the Lich in aviators but I'm terrible with scale so I ran out of room on the paper for the bone-copter :v:

It just makes it generally more accessible, though I'd still pick 3.5 over PF anyday.

Most of the classes are a lot better balanced, grapple/trip/disarm/etc is a bit simplified and everything's up on their website for free http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

Why is that?
And better balanced in which way?
