Why is that? And better balanced in which way?
Rangers and paladins are no longer useless, some spells work slightly differently (high level wizards are still crazy in the right hands), other classes get something similar to fighter bonus feats that are class specific (Rogue talents, barbarian rage powers, sorcerer bloodline abilities).
Pathfinder also cleans up skills a bit. For instance rather than having a seperate skill for jumping and balancing and tumbling it just has acrobatics, and instead of having two stealth skills in the form of Hide and Move Silently it just has Stealth. Spot and Listen are combined into Perception and Disable Device and Open Lock are combined into Disable Device.
Also, we had an interesting problem in our last scenario: We entered a fight with a demon. I had cast Stoneskin (+10 DR against stabs, slashes, and so on) on our Paladin, and then our Necromancer betrayed us, and sent his Imp to attack the Paladin. The Imp can stab with it's tail and deliver poison, and as the Imp attacked the Paladin, it dealt 1 damage. Now, the Necromancer was sure that the poison was delivered, even though no damage was done (thanks to the DR). I, however, think the DR is representing toughened skin (thus "Stoneskin"), and that you had to interpret the situation as the Imp not penetrating the skin, and thereby not delivering any poison. What do you guys think?

That also covers stuff like stunning, disease and energy drain. But I've never played Planescape so I can't say for sure.
The shit I have to put up with as GM.
What online tool is that?
What online tool is that?
http://roll20.net/ It's what I use for all of my games.
is it as hard to work with as my friend makes it out to be?
is it as hard to work with as my friend makes it out to be?
Well I dont know how hard your friend makes it out to be so I can't really answer this question.
is it as hard to work with as my friend makes it out to be?
The hardest part is finding tokens and textures to make a map out of.
I really detest some of the UI in Roll20 though. Especially choosing colors for the pen tool. For me it's really laggy and slow, and if you mess up and need to delete something, you have to rechoose the pen color and thickness. The select tool often selects a crapton of things you didn't want to select, etc etc But it's better than not playing if you can't play in person.
I don't think roll20 is that bad although some things do annoy me. [editline]6th June 2013[/editline] You'll probably want a seperate program for voice communication as the one that's built into it sort of sucks.
Yeah we just used skype when we did our exalted game on it
Yeah we just used skype when we did our exalted game on it
Roll20 vs Nothing... I'll take Roll20 please. What did you guys do for dice rolls though, just trust each other?
Roll20 vs Nothing... I'll take Roll20 please. What did you guys do for dice rolls though, just trust each other?
they probably used Roll20 for that
Roll20 vs Nothing... I'll take Roll20 please. What did you guys do for dice rolls though, just trust each other?
I think he means they used Roll20 in conjunction with Skype.
Question for anyone who has Ultimate Campaign and understands it decently. In the section where it lists all the different people you can hire (teams, page 104), it has their earnings, the cost to create them and time. It doesn't quite explain what cost and time mean for teams. If it's the same as buildings, you pay that cost, and after a few days they start working for you, and you never have to pay them again (which doesn't make sense). Or maybe you pay that cost, and they work for you for that amount of time, but then that doesn't make sense because there are some that have a time of 0 days, and hiring people would get insanely expensive each day (much more than any building could generate). Plus, they have a daily earnings, which is maybe 1/100th or 1/1000th of what they cost each day. Any opinions? [editline].[/editline] Nevermind, I think I get it. The cost is to recruit the team, and the earnings is your actual profit after they take their fees.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/graveknight-cr-2 I want to use one of these guys in campaign, a jaded, joyless undead warrior that used to revel in battle and keeps fighting out of not knowing anything else and wanting to prove his arrogance correct is way more bad ass than a lich.
So I recently bought Ultimate Campaign and I must say I like the new systems it added. Should help some of my less imaginative players focus their back stories.
Roll20 vs Nothing... I'll take Roll20 please. What did you guys do for dice rolls though, just trust each other?
roll20, rolz, any irc worth checking out all three of those have rolling features
The only thing I wrote is "the penis is evil".
i drew everything

Yeah I meant we used skype for voice and roll20 for everything else
Okay, so I've got to say at first glance the PnP RPG for A Song of Ice and Fire seems pretty good. No idea how it plays but the lack of a class system and the House simulation rules seem intriguing to say the least.

And you've been talking to Funktastic Dog, haven't you? Suppose you know by now the Spycraft game isn't on today.

Sucks but it just means we can have our massive collatoral damage session next week with hopefully even more senseless civilian death.

My players are going to hate me for this next encounter, there were some jokes about calling in the '51st Dragonborne division' from one of them, and they're going to head through a sewer this session, which that player was very against. I'm going to have kobolds knock out some of the bricks in the ceiling of the sewer, throw thunderstones in at them and then rappel in on ropes, SWAT style :v:
