So I'm currently in a middle of a DnD game, it started at noon, and it's now almost 1:00am. What dice do I roll to kill myself?
What in all that is holy I can barely make games past 4-5 hours, how is that even possible
Because determination and a one big fucking cookie.

Could someone tell me what "Kingmaker" is? A google search turns up a board game based on the war of the roses and something to do with pathfinder. Is it the pathfinder thing? [editline]16th June 2013[/editline] Dammit i always feel so insecure asking questions with this title...

I was mostly joking, the game we played was great. We were all in great moods and playing characters we loved. I also discovered that Cleric is my new favorite class. I just really like healing people and helping out.
Only thirteen hours? psh. You haven't lived until a 26-hour call of cthulhu horror game has left you slouched over in your chair gently babbling your insanity
i think you just called 99.99999999% of Earth's population dead
They're surviving. None shall truly live. Longest D&D session I've been in was only about ten hours, although we did two of those on two successive days... we just got distracted in the middle for about twelve hours by guitar hero and sleep. I'm currently organizing a load of notes I've taken down over the last few weeks on a setting. It's come out like some sort of grimdark post-apocalypse, except myself while writing it and the fellow who wants to DM it (I don't like DMing, for some reason) are approaching it with a pretty cynical, tongue-in-cheek style. Basically, nobody knows what happened, it was a long ass time ago and nobody from that time is still around for first-hand accounts, and a lack of centralized information storage means nobody knows for sure what destroyed the previous civilization. Plenty of people have theories, and some of those theories spawn cult style followings ready to murder for having a different theory. Meanwhile, the suddenly terrible living conditions cut the average life expectancy to fuck all (people can in fact live exceedingly long, as most diseases don't stand a chance against the immune systems they've developed and aging is pretty slow because of the requirement for peak physical condition - people just don't tend to live very long anyway), and the harshness of the environment plus some unknown factors resulted in extremely fast evolutionary iterations, leading to several offshoots of humanity with different physical traits, and commonplace deviations from the norm. On the plus side, discrimination's at an all-time low. Most anyone who'd shoot you for being a ten foot tall lizardman wielding a small car's differential as a club would probably shoot pretty much anyone else for being whatever they are too. Also, pretty much nobody studies statistics, so nobody can disprove conjectures like "discrimination's at an all-time low". I swear, I started writing this like Fallout and it turned out closer to Gorkamorka.
Also the gm of that CoC game is running another group through it, and, all I can say is that I am so, so fucking glad we avoided some of the things we avoided. Fuck fungi.
Today on Exalted: Tons of shit. It was great. Storytime coming via edit once I type it up. Edit: We continued up the mountain we were on, to the summit. The top of the mountain was completely flat, and the seer we were looking for was nowhere to be seen. After a few seconds of looking around, Harper(my guy, the abyssal necromancer) notices the clouds above them moving, and points it out. As he does, the clouds grow a bit darker, and a ring formed above them turns in to a giant cloud snake, which slithers down so that it's close enough to talk to us. About this time, Biniel(Antary, solar knight x2, the new friend) reaches the summit and shows of his intelligence 1 score.("Woah, that snake is talking!") The cloud snake is actually the seer, and it tells us that some Fae have stolen Calibration, ie the 5 days between Winter and Summer(I think it was, idk, 2 seasons), from the loom of fate. Basically, if we don't get those 5 days back, then all of Creation will fall in to the void and everything will stop existing. After we decide we definitely need to do something, the snake says he has a gift for us, then blows a Lightning Bident in to the rock of the mountain, causing a huge flash and immediately returning to looking like a normal cloud. Reinhart(Fremontsmith, the solar knight) took the spear, and we headed back to town. While there, Reinhart decided to take the barmaid up on her previous offer of sex, but rolled a botch. Basically, he jizzed in his pants. We left the town, and headed for Lookshy to get a boat eastward, so that Cael(Elowin, sorcerer) could get some first age sorcery tome he wanted. On the way there, out of nowhere, a giant enemy crab jumped out of the water and attacked our ship. All but Cael ran in to attack, with him staying back and preparing a sorcery spell. Ledeon(Trooper, Terrestrial Knight) attacked one claw, I attacked the other(and botched so my spear got stuck), then Biniel attack it's head and hurt it pretty badly. But it turned out to be a ZOMBIE CRAB. Everyone (except Harper) kept attacking, with Reinhart jabbing at at with his spear twice, then throwing his spear in to the water. Harper got flung up, flying 500 feet in to the air, and the Cael turned the crabs exoskeleton in to lava, and it exploded, with Harper's spear flying up to where he could catch it as he fell back in to the water. Everyone else got covered in zombie crab guts.
So, we had another Exalted game After some waiting due to certain parties being late, we embarked on our quest to save the world from evil Fae, who had stolen five days from the world, five days that we would need to get back before the world collapsed in on itself. But first we went to find an old lost tome because I really wanted it. So we took a ship down a river that would lead to it, and as the universal law of random encounters says, there will always, always be a fight if you get on the boat. So here we were, facing a giant, enemy crab. Our brave warriors fought valiantly, they attacked it's weak point for massive damage, but it was not enough, for you see, this giant enemy crab was no ordinary giant enemy crab, oh no, it was an undead giant enemy crab! They fought, and fought, but it was not enough, they hacked it to pieces, but it was not enough. The emo vampire and resident butt monkey of our group decided to leap on the crab and stab it with his spear, but unfortunately it got stuck in the crab, he tried to hold onto it, but the crab wailed around, and eventually managed to throw him away. Five hundred feet away to be exact. And straight up. At this point, I had devised a plan to fell this mighty foe, for I had gleansed it's true weak point, it's shell. You see, there is a certain socererous spell which I have mastered which allows us to turn the very bones of our opponents into molten magma, destroying them from the inside, but as you may know, crabs do not have bones per se, no, instead their outer shell is indeed an exoskeleton! But at the same time, I was also the only one who could save emo vampire guy, for I, and only I have at my disposal a one man flying machine! There was no way I could both cast the fatal spell and save my friend, however, so I had to choose. Unfortunately for our poor emo vampire, I choose to finish the crab monster. And so, as the giant, undead enemy crab died from it's own super heated exoskeleton, something strange happened. It fucking exploded, our boat got wrecked hard and we all nearly died.
26-hour
The most my group can ever manage is about 4 hours. Which would be more like one hour if people could focus but that's apparently too difficult. And the only reason we manage only four hours is because it becomes boring to them after that.
-words-
Fuck you.
our boat got wrecked hard and we all nearly died.
But i haven't even taken 1 point of damage yet :v:
But i haven't even taken 1 point of damage yet :v:
Not physical, but surely botching your sex roll caused some kind of emotional damage.
I do so love Exalted. Nowhere else do I get to scream things like "NOW BEHOLD MY TRUE POWER AND DESPAIR" with everything from a crab to a raincloud to a poodle, without it ever getting stale or not making sense. :v:
Hey. Hey guys. Completely serious question here: in Pathfinder, what class do you think half-fiends could never play as? Go on, take a guess. If you said paladin, you guessed correctly. Especially a paladin of Bahamut, right? So in my Tuesday game, after our resident tengu rogue died, the player, who is a complete and utter sucker for Mary Sue characters (the tengu rogue comes from a cyberpunk world. And we're in a prison plane. Also he has a Hindi accent HUUUURGH), decided to make a Half-fiend paladin of Bahamut. Why can't he be a tiefling paladin of Bahamut? Why does it have to be a racial template that is not only ridiculously overpowered (LOOK AT THIS SHIT) but contradicts a paladin of Bahamut like a black president of the Confederate States of America does, or a Grey Knight Chaos Marine? Did I mention the guy's father is Asmodeus? Our party is already beyond fucking weird. I'm a gunslinger from the Second American Civil War, we have Wesles the Goblin Adventurer who's CG, we have Jango Fandango the witch, and a CE orc fighter that refuses to do anything evil. But nothing, absolutely nothing we have in our party roster compares to a demon paladin of Bahamut who takes offense to people insulting his father, The Devil. And the DM's OK with it. He's a pretty cool DM and a great friend, and he did tell us that he had something devious planned for the paladin (where the player couldn't hear us, of course), but STILL.
I've never played Pathfinder, but I hear it has Dual classes and what not. Would it be impossible to mix a paladin and a monk? Because those are the two coolest things I've always wanted to play in a fantasy setting.
So my Eclipse Phase session is now also playing Payday Miami: Dead Men where we play Spycraft and change GMs every session. It's mega hype.
I'm looking forward to going home for the Summer, I think I have another couple of friends who'd be up for joining the game I started last time I was back there. Currently trying to come up with a campaign setting, nothing too extensive, I just want it to be sort of generic Gygaxian fantasy with a couple of different human-centric countries, and some homelands for the different non-human races. I've been trying to come up with a general map of landmasses, but they always either seem way too boring or too 'constructed' rather than natural. Scale ends up being an issue, too. Anybody have any tips for the mapping side of things, rather than the background and history side of worldbuilding?
I will be GMing the first session get double hype
I will be playing an orphaned ex-officer team leader who is, for all intents and purposes, mentally unstable.

Mountains usually lead to peninsulas then islands, as well as usually following a coastline. When prevailing winds blow into mountains, clouds wind up dumping much of their water out since they can't go over the mountains, usually resulting in lush forest/rain forests on one side and dry climate or deserts in a rain shadow on the far side. Rivers tend to flow out of mountain ranges and head towards the coast. Rivers also tend to meander back and forth a lot when they're in flat, open terrain, and the only time a river forks is if you're travelling upstream. Lakes always have a way for water to flow out, generally a river, otherwise they'd get stagnant. Cities and towns are always placed near water, generally along a river (Which makes trade a lot easier) or somewhere lots of traffic has to pass through, so they can thrive off of trade. That's assuming your world follows Earth-like laws of physics and all that crap, but they should help make a fairly natural looking map. It's not the normal way people play, as far as I'm aware, but nothing would stop you from playing a Monk/Paladin.

The only parts of that which I'd taken into account before were the settlements near water point, and the one about peninsulas. If I come up with anything presentable I'll report back here. I quite like the style of the old hexmaps, so I might knock out the final map in hexographer or something.

I recently started DM-ing for a bunch of my friends and we are all (including me) pretty new to the game. One of my friends dabbled in 4.0 (we are playing 3.5) and he has a book for it that has a class called a warden in it. He INSISTS on being a warden but I tell him I'm only comfortable with making classes from the players handbook so I made him a sorcerer. I can tell he is unhappy with his character and class and constantly asks that I give him ultimate god-tier abilities coz he's an experienced sorceror. For anybody that is familiar in the game, what is similar to a warden, or can I somehow port the class into 3.5 so I can avoid his bitching? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You may need to elaborate on anything unclear as well, I am still very new to the game.

However, I haven't played 3.5 since 2005 so I have no idea how all of that works.
