Guns that teleport small things to another dimension.
[editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
Like shooting someone takes away a dime sized piece of their flesh away.
I can't remember what it's from, but I remember something called a scrambler gun, which was a intentionally uncalibrated teleporter that moved things to roughly where they already were, badly. Whatever you hit with it vanished for a moment, then reappeared, in a cloud of completely disintegrated chunks.

you should have wish engines that function basically as magic, that taps into the "spirit world" where all the dead's memories go.
oh and thermite, include LOTS of thermite.
perhaps a chemical spray that can immobilize enemies similar to that expanding insulation we have in the present day.

Not this, hard sci-fi pls

Nanomachine medibots.
Augmentations for upgrading player characteristics.
Hologramatic space ships and crews for FTL space exploration.
A vial containing remote-activated nanomachines which, when put in food, converts the victims stomach acids into far more acidic compounds to eat through their bodies as a method of assassination.

My personal favorite cribbed from d20 Modern:
Weapon that destroys the atomic bonds in a target, causing them to release all their energy and explode and fly apart
Also, gravitational weapons are very very cool
also, perhaps weapons whose projectiles break open on impact to reveal all sorts of gels or other dangerous fluids (Acid, air-reactive explosives or flammables, liquid nitrogen)

Grenades that create a miniature gravity well
Generic chemical ballistic ammunition/grenades for whatever chemicals you want (see above)
Coil guns
Also awesome melee weapons, like plasma whips and shit
And don't forget stuff like neural implants, artificial muscles

Also, bouncy lasers.
Definitely do bouncy lasers.
A mine that, when activated, will send out said bouncy lasers in a bouncing Betty type fashion, thus sealing off an area due to laser rave.
Great for killing dudes in every part of the room.
Sucks if you left the door open to your room.
I am also very pleased at how willing people are to give advice on cool sci-fi gear.

Bouncing lasers sound cool but there's just one problem. How the hell do you represent them mechanically?
xdy number of attacks per round for zdq rounds within range

Also, if you had it in a rifle fashion, roll d100 for random chance to hit something if you miss, or a penalty for the to-hit roll if the user is purposefully using the bouncing property to hit something they could not hit originally.
So we're currently playing Exalted, casually bantering with this evil abyssal vampire dude.
At some point we do a roll to discern his intentions
I botch it
result:
Elowin: "D'aww, aren't you just the cutest little puppy dog, do you need a hug?"
I consider this a resounding success, all around.

OOPS i just killed about half the party by fireballing a few hundreds of dead zombies that happened to be rigged with explosives and fireworks

[editline]30th June 2013[/editline]

We've finished... for now.

I remember reading that. Quite the story
Exalted Storytime:
So, at the end of the previous session, there was a grand reveal of everyone in the party being Exalts. Then a 20 minute argument IC about it. Then a third-party chimed in that they were a loyalist. As in, an abyssal.
Start of this session, we all turn towards the voice and I recognize it as my guy's former lover & the dude he was penetrating from the rear when he was penetrated from the rear(with a spear). His Abyssal name is Hound, and he pretty much just spends an hour stalling us while stuff goes on that we can't see really. Then the giant magical barrier surrounding the island we're on disappears, and Hound turns in to a cloud of black dust or something and flies away. One of the zombies that arrived with him walks up to us, unarmed, and a voice starts coming from inside it. Not it's voice, but that of the Deathlord controlling it. He pretty much just explains that he loves explosives and that we keep showing up where he's been sending his zombies, then has ALL of the zombies near us explode. We figure, ok, we should totally go destroy that meteor that was saw falling to the island earlier, and head to the manse it apparently crashed in to. Elowin's guy decides not to walk, of course, and hops on his hoverboard to fly over the manse instead of going in with us. Once we get to the room where the meteor, which was actually composed of a ton of zombies, landed, Elowin shoots a fucking eagle-shaped fireball at it, causing all the zombies to explode. Of course, the most damage anybody but me took was 1, but I took 4 damage, taking me down to 1 hit away from being unconcious.
Then Fremontsmith's dude yells at Elowin's and commands him to heal me, which he does, and I get a free piggy back on Fremont's shoulders as the session ends.
TL;DR- God damn it, Elowin.
Just joined a super hero themed lightweight rpg game with some friends.
Basic premise is that there is a huge man made island where super powered people are sent to be trained with their powers (roughly around college age). There's a power rating type thing that goes (from lowest to highest) E D C B A S SS, with C being the average person at the school, E being absolutely useless (Example: always knowing exactly where your car keys are) and SS being basically godlike.
I am Björk Swedenson, of Sweden. I can control how gravity affects objects (allowing me to fly) and make gravity wells. I can throw things really fast and infinite range, as well as change their direction mid flight. I also have a very bushy orange moustache and can cook really well.

To get my rating, I basically fought/sparred with this guy that made illusions and didn't do so great, but got a C because my powers were useful. Then, I offered everyone cookies (they can apparently heal people they are so good), and apparently the teacher really liked them and secretly changed the rating to a B. Apparently because of my skill in cooking and how comfortable I am in the kitchen, if I fight in a kitchen I get bonuses and become A rated.
Team leader (forgot character name) from Italy has this power where anything she draws comes to life/can be taken off the page. Can draw really fast, of course. She fought someone who was super strong/durable and was throwing all sorts of things at her. Then her enemy's mask got knocked off and she turned into a raptor/lizard person. Was defeated by drawing snow, and lizard person fell asleep due to lizard. Rated B
There is Aaron Benderman from USA who is basically the Thing, but can go in and out of armor and shoot bone spikes. Strong and durable, but no ranged attacks. Fought a telekinetic person who kept on throwing shit at him, and he punched them and whatnot. Rated B.
Then there is Dirty Sanchez (no other name given) from Mexico. He is self described womanizer, and hits on every woman he sees (including teacher, team leader, the people he is fighting). Uses guns and explosives, and is kinda like the people from Wanted where he can change the curve of shots a bit. Also fought telekinetic woman, ended the fight by shooting a grenade launcher at them. B rated.
Also someone almost named their character "Walla Walla 'Wallie' Walla Wolowitz Windango"
I killed my first player. He called a suicidal man's bluff on if he'd set a whole lot of explosives on fire or not.
please elaborate on this
A Llama that has ties to German Revolutionaries and has Corrosive Laser Eyes.
What I love about GURPS is that's all completely legal.

Holy shit you guys I've been reading through the Cyberpunk 2020 rulesbook and it kicks so much ass. Definitely gonna try to run it after I get a computer that can actually handle having Steam, Chrome, Winamp and a PDF reader open without shitting itself (which should be soon-ish, if anything goes well)

So I asume that's what we're going to be doing after Fallout?

It's basically a system that just has minimal rules and complexity so you can get people into it really quickly, or have it be really customizeable campaign. You get to make your own attacks and skills with a point buy system.
The superhero stuff and ratings were all just made up by the DM for this campaign. I think he is also running a pokemon themed campaign with the system.

So like a lightweight FATE or something. Neat.

I dunno. If I actually pull it off, and Beaf won't feel like doing another Fallout campaign, maybe?

There are so many random systems and tabletops that I've never even heard of. I need to step it up.
