You can get that in roll20, but you have to pay for it.
Their version of it is visually very appealing, but it's subscription based last time I checked. I just find that icky.
you gotta admit how retarded it must look to a random commoner you walk by though
"oh god his bow is so bright why does he even have that god damn"
New adventure idea: some guy has a suit of armor that glows so brightly that when he walked into town, 14 people were permanently blinded. The town is paying PCs for capture, dead or alive.
Isn't the light on command? I don't know if the bow is always glowing.
Also I completely forgot what FLAMECLEAVER looked like, thank you Rats
I have talked Elowin into letting me have an Obrez in this Shadowrun game.
Before I start, you need to know that I have never played a tabletop RPG before.
I've been looking into using Roll20 or a similar application to run some virtual games with friends. Nobody wants to DM, so I am taking on the challenge for myself because I think it would be a good experience. Now, I know I could spend a very long time reading through the books and stuff to get a handle on all the rules and how the game works, but it would be a massive help if anyone here could perhaps run me through a couple of little scenarios so I can get a feel for how the game works. If anyone is willing to do that, I would absolutely love you forever.
I know some of how it works, but definitely not enough to DM for my friends yet.
I don't mind if we play D&D or Pathfinder, either are good (and, as I gather, quite similar.)

I'm trying to do something like that with my GM, except it's pathfinder.
well we might be able to get it a couple hours earlier, but i'd imagine playing one game, and then immediately playing another would be very very exhausting :v:
Ha. I'll be playing a session and then GMing a session.
Get on my level.

I can run you through some stuff, I've got all day off. Any particular time? I'm EST, by the way.

Excellent, thank you! Do you have a Steam account I could add you with? It might be easier to arrange stuff.

Same as my fp name. You can add me on skype too, if you think that will work better.
Hell yes, my mom showed me a huge roll of vinyl paper in our garage, now I don't have to waste 20-40 bucks on a mat :v:

Been there, done that.
Hell, last week I was talking to Rats about how I wanted to run two games concurrently in two different systems where actions in one game had ramifications on the other.

IIRC Your example was a nWoD game where at some point someone found an intelligent supercomputer running a fantasy game, and the other session was pathfinder running said fantasy game. WoD players could do shit to the computer to affect things in the pathfinder game.

Also god damn, Numenera sounds fun. Sucks that I'm already in 4 sessions.

I also admitted that it was a bad example and was mostly just a proof of concept. :v:
That sounds cool.
I took a look at apocalypse world, but is seems like it puts too much into supernatural/mutant powers. Taking it out would take a huge chunk out and possibly leave things very unbalanced. I'm okay with there being mutant monsters, because I can take them out very easily, or refluff them as other things maybe.
Also, the manual seems really immature, and seems to try to be edgy by swearing over and over in descriptions and talking about sex a lot. Actually, more than just talking about it. Sex is a game mechanic, and apparently the player classes have special abilities when having sex?
No thanks, I'll pass.
Apocalypse World's theme comes from The Road, Book of Eli, and Mad Max. Not anything zany like Fallout.
Sex isn't a mechanic, this isn't FATAL. The mechanics are there to facilitate character development (Which is why this game is praised a lot), sleeping with another character adds to your history with them, along with saving them, attacking them, or any other significant actions. And the sex only applies to other PCs, so it doesn't encourage PCs to do awkward stuff. It's more mature than pretending sex doesn't exist, or turning it into some pubescent fantasy.
So why don't you play the game before judging it?

Unless I am looking at some other RPG named Apocalypse World, it does seem like a mechanic. The history ruleset is silly - it can be accomplished better with simple roleplay instead of "well I have +3 hx with this person". And let the players decide how they want to handle sex in the game, don't make it an inherent ruleset.
But anyway, even without that, I just don't like the mechanics. Mind control, seeing the future, references to psychic stuff. That's just not what I want at all.

That's fair, your opinions on what mechanics a game should have are your own. I'm just saying that it's completely unjustified to compare AW to a pubescent fantasy, just because it has sex and exaggerated swearing.
Especially if you're not going to play it.
So.. anyone got an opening for a game? ...Or need a little inspiration?
So, played my first AdEva game, and first time playing a real RP online
That was honestly loads more fun than I had initially thought it would be
Mostly because of the loads and loads of hilarious in-party sexual tension
Also roll20 is pretty damn sick, pretty accurately recreates that whole tabletop feel and all that

Because sometimes we need something less subtle than doing a BOMBING RUN FROM A PLANE ON THE MASSIVE CROWD.
Shock and awe is always the best tactic to go with

Also killing civilians gives xp

The fact that Nerts convinced everyone out of using explosives does not mean no backup plan though.

I get that a lot

Also this is Rents we're talking about here. If the thread is to be believed he'd be the one trying to convince everyone to use MORE explosives.
Rents what the fuck
They were going to bomb a political rally, and I'm playing a character who'd probably pull a gun on other characters for killing bystanders without reason :v: We decided to go with an assassination, teargas and blowing away anyone who decides to get violent.

All of my massive amounts of collateral damage are usually unintended, actually.

"unintended"
So reading Transhuman, the newest EP book. Absolutely loved it. And Disco, one of the pregenerated characters had a very similar concept to Eve (AGI sleeved into a morph that is disguised to look like a human). Hell the artwork looks a lot like your avatar, except with less of Power Girl's Idaho-class battleship tits.
Oh and one piece of artwork in Transhuman has generated a massive shitstorm argument on the EP forums about sexism and feminism that, while doesn't come close to the notorious shit flinging debates Facepunch has on those touchy subjects, got so bad that Jack Grahm himself locked the thread and made two new threads, one strictly for meaningful discussion on the newest book, and another thread for the arguments to continue.
ALSO NUMENERA HNNNNG

How do you even get sexism in a world where you can change your body's sex in 2 hours? Oh and the whole synth-looking-human thingy is in the previous books too.
