My DM used this at the start of our latest game. It has the ability to make the most generic character *coughhumanfightercough* into something hilarious. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Grog_of_Susbtantial_Whimsy_%283.5e_Equipment%29 [editline]29th August 2013[/editline] My character ended up getting a rune burned onto his forehead that causes the reader of it to explode. DM: You can choose where the rune is put on your body. Me: I choose to have it on my forehead. Party member: Dude, what if one of us accidentally reads it? Me: Don't worry about it. I lick one of the bar napkins and slap it on my forehead.

Sorry been out of the loop for a long time, but does anyone have a game going on? Like an online one that I can join. I need my fix man, its been over 3 weeks.
I just did a game where the party was in an arcane research lab. While fighting a gargantuant spider, they were dangerously close to dying (one of them was able to hobble into a closet and pass out while the other ran away to look for healing potions. Using that grog chart (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Grog_of...e_Equipment%29), I had him roll for his effect upon drinking the random potions. He drank a potion and immediatley, a doppleganger of himself is created in front of him. It waved to him, bid him a good day and went off into the world. In the final battle for this side mission, they had killed the spider, but had to find out which of the scientists at the lab had been taken over by a Tsochar (Lords of Madness, it's full of crazy shit). Upon revealing the culprit, they began to fight him. However, they still were terribliy wounded from the last battle, and the party members couldn't hit this Tsochar for shit. Suddenly, the doppleganger jumped in through the window, pulled out a pistol and delivered a critical that ended up saving the day. tl;dr, This table is pure gold for a DM who wants to make a game more interesting.
Couple questions. A Dwarf gets a +2 bonus to Endurance and Dungeoneering. Does this mean he is automatically trained in those two skills? And I'm free to choose what ever other skills my class lets me, right?
quick question what game are you even playing
Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition. Adding to my questions, when an ability calls for an attack on Strength vs AC, does that mean it's a 1d20 + Strength modifier + Attack Bonus? And then if you hit, would it be 1[W] + Strength modifier + Attack Bonus + Other bonuses? I'm reading through the Player's Handbook and I'm kind on confused on how to add my numbers together here. If the above is true, then if an ability says that it's a 1[W] + Strength Modifier, would that really be a 1[W] + Strength modifier + Attack bonus + another strength modifier?

460$ if you want all the Dark Heresy rulebooks (that is excluding the ones that are premade adventures). Thing is, the digital .pdf is only 50% off, so you still pay 25€ for a digital .pdf. Seems D&D and most others don't cost much less, in physical form at least. Thing is physical is just so much better, I hate fiddling with a .pdf on my laptop while GM'ing. [editline]31st August 2013[/editline] Then again university books for each year rape my wallet even worse. Fuck book prices in general, I guess.
Yeah, how the hell do you have 20 int at level 4 as a human?
Spend a bunch of points in point buy to get 17 int. +2 Int from human race bringing you to 19. +1 int from level 4 stat increase bringing you to 20. [editline].[/editline] I just want to point out that the wizard has all the supplies needed to play DnD inside of DnD.

Which if you're carting them around a lot is a pain.
I recently had the original D&D booklets and the first three supplements printed as one digest sized paperback through Lulu, it's awesome to read both as a piece of history and as a source of inspiration for other games. I'd love to run a game one day if I could convince people at the society to try something other than Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu and FATE, but I can understand why people wouldn't fancy playing a 'Fighting-Man' with 3 hit points at first level.
Jesus christ this table is spooky.
That'd be convenient if you just broke a couple dozen bones though. Drink the grog and your shattered old skeleton leaves you laying on the ground, floppy and boneless. Then you grow an entirely new skeleton in less time than it would have taken to heal the broken bones! Also effective against, I dunno, bone cancer or something I guess?
but then you have to watch your poor old skeleton slowly die of bone cancer
On the contrary. The skeleton would leave the body so that it could go out into the world do what it's always wanted. Hang gliding, taking cooking lessons, finding love, hell, he'll live a more rich life in his last few months of living then we have in our entire lives.
So I was making characters for a friend's GURP campaign and I made an undying Necromancer Lich character. My two best spells are Soul Jar and Animate. When I thought about the applications of both, this came to mind:
ha ha, no longer shall we use dice as miniatures
Spent around $100 getting the books, miniatures, and supplies I needed to create a small D&D adventure. No one fucking shows up after planning everything out. I'm fucking sick and tired of not being able to get a group in real life.

I want to 3D print some characters, I just don't have my printer up and running yet. Might go for some terrain too, that would be awesome.

When in doubt, give your Lichomancer a Segway. This was the GM's idea, not mine.
