I'd join just to play a chauvinist knight to bug Shadaez.
Anyone know anything about Shadowrun 5e?
Dude stopped the Rapture and thus the Apocolypse (though at great cost), how in the hell were you supposed to defeat an accurately stat'd Macho Man Randy Savage?
he fucking took down two of our dudes in a forced wrestling match, literally one hit KO'ing the first character he fought. He then proceeded to dive out of the plane we were all on "yeah it had a wrestling ring in it" and get away so commences the month long manhunt that basically involves us finding him waiting for us back at the wreckage and we just fucking shoot his ass [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
not really Drizzt was pretty fucking unique back in the day, it's just that these days litterally everyone and everything has done a shitty rip off character. Sort of like how Tolkien-esque fantasy has become the norm, despite being quite unique when it first appeared.
are you shitting on superior deekin PLEASE tell me you're not shitting on superior Deekin [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
Not actively. Not post Gygax, at least. The players and GMs more than make up for any lack of silliness.
the idea of DnD is you make anything you want it's basically saying "you want to make some wacky ass shit? go ahead, it fits"
Anyone know anything about Shadowrun 5e?
Pretty good, rebalanced things that needed it, simplified things that needed it, the book is still organised like complete ass though and I don't think anything besides the core book is out.
Okay, seriously, that's fucking it. I've been looking for a group since November. I'll be honest, I'm a picky person, I prefer text than voice. And I'll admit, I was pretty shit but through time, I've been trying to become better and make some legitimately interesting characters. But the last group was so shit, I decided that I had to share this. In this last group, Pathfinder, the GM kept constantly going offline, before eventually disappearing for the rest of the day... While me and one of the other guys were just being introduced - on the first session. There were 4 players total (me included), I played a Kobold Swashbuckler, while the other guys were playing girls below the age of 20. I was like "yeah okay that's not so bad--" one of them was a cleric of a Goddess of fertility and nudity, she had nothing but long hair to cover her naked body. The 4th guy didn't finish his character in time, to be honest his internet died out before he could save it on Myth-weavers, but he was planning on making a ranger with a missing leg for just an extra feat - "I'll only have 20 feet of speed but it's okay". Then, they started to rant 'why female characters are much deeper, emotional and more interesting than males'. I quit, deleted them all from my contacts and I wasn't sure, or still am, if I wanted them to be just a bunch of trolls or not. And here's another one, a couple of groups back, Pathfinder again, I was playing a Goblin Gunslinger who also invents all manners of cool gadgets (like the grappling-hook gun), we had a player with terrible English and a 13-year-old, Kitsune Wizard. And he was so fucking stereotypical, tried to talk out of a fight against a Druid with an army of beasts, then, when the Druid agreed that he would leave us alone if we gave him a specific tome we were carrying, the idiot tried to swap it with one of his many 'journals and books'. Despite the fact that the tome had leaves, made out of wood - typical Druid-looking tome while all of his stuff looked very simple Wizard like. Oh yeah, he also complained when I asked him if he could please give more thought into his character with "stupid grim-derp orcs". The 2nd session died there, because the DM wasn't enjoying it so he ended it all. All other promising, good groups that I have come across died right after the first session or simply never happened. A Star Wars d20 group, a mix of multiple nWoD character types (I was going to be a Gheist), a Pathfinder group with really great players and a good GM. Does anyone please have an open spot somewhere? And if I start regretting by declining your offer, then I won't complain. Oh and the Kitsune kid min-maxed like crazy, he had 20 Cha but everything else was 10, except for his strength which was 7. He was already in medium load simply because he was carrying books.
It's a shame you don't go to my university, we have a bunch of great DMs.
All filled up here, guys.
Just ended a session where our characters arm wrestled with a bunch of mercenaries before arm wrestling each other. This resulted in the ULTIMATE ARM-WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP 2013, which ended with one of the characters nearly killing the other before storming out of the room in a salty rage. After which said character got a bit of solo development time. During this character development time that character brutally murdered a possible information source. Arm-wrestling leads to TPKs and brutal murders, kids.
Pretty good, rebalanced things that needed it, simplified things that needed it, the book is still organised like complete ass though and I don't think anything besides the core book is out.
I'm asking because I have the book. Seems like a great setting, and I love pretty much everything I've read about it. I just have one issue. What the hell is the priority system and how does it work? The book is confusing me on that part. I get everything else.
are you shitting on superior deekin PLEASE tell me you're not shitting on superior Deekin
deekin is superior to all but but drizzt came first [editline]6th September 2013[/editline]
I'm asking because I have the book. Oh, and the number in paranthesis next to races are your "special" points, which you can add to special attributes (edge, magic and resonance), so basically unless you're some kind of magic user, you add this to your edge attribute. Same goes if your magic/resonance attributes are already maxed, obviously.
Pretty much same boat over here. I know how you feel.
Don't sympathize with Gleb its his own fault he cant get into good games anymore.
Is there any EU timezone game sessions (except for 4th edition, from my personal taste, I don't really like it) ? I'm mostly looking for a Pathfinder game but can try something else. (I have mic and webcam if that is needed)

Is there a video guide, or a demonstration somewhere?
Don't sympathize with Gleb its his own fault he cant get into good games anymore.
Yeah, it is my fault, but a lot of times passed and you guys didn't hear much about me through that entire time. Look, I just want to find an interesting group to play with and I can prove right on the first session that I'm a good person.
Okay, so it's a priority on abilities. Now how does choosing them work? Is there a video guide, or a demonstration somewhere?
There five things to pick, and five priorities, so if you wanted a mage you might go; A - Magic B - Stats C - Skills D - Race E - Money Whereas if you're just some dude with guns you might go A -Skills B - Stats C - Money D - Race E - Magic

Now where does everything else come in? A - Race - Attributes? - Magic or Resonance - Skills? - Resources? Edit: Just getting into this game, all of my pen and paper knowledge is some 3e but mostly 4e D&D. I lied, I did not get it.
Okay, I get that now. Now where does everything else come in? So lets say you put priority E in resources, you'd look at this table, go down to E, look over at the resources table and see "6000Y" and that's how much money you get.

So I could pick A - Metatype, B - Attributes, C - Magic or Resonance, Etc?
Yes, but unless you want to be a troll or orc or something, I don't think there's much point putting metatype as A, although I don't know what the numbers mean.
AHhhh, alright. Thanks guys.

Now go back to your pit.
Yes but any GOOD group would probably kick you. Now go back to your pit.
Like I said, I can prove myself on the first session. If I'm still terrible, I can always be kicked away - and my character and any/all of my actions can be simply retconned.
Like I said, I can prove myself on the first session. No, if you're a bad player, your character gets murdered in the most brutal way possible.
Retconned? No, if you're a bad player, your character gets murdered in the most brutal way possible.
"Here lies fred He was an asshole Then he got lassoed by a man on a griffin and got dragged along the ground for five miles till he was naught but mush"
Retconned? No, if you're a bad player, your character gets murdered in the most brutal way possible.
Either way is fine, I just want to find a nice group. So again, anyone planning on running nWoD/oWoD?
Yes but any GOOD group would probably kick you. Though, serious or not, that doesn't mean it can't be funny. Edit: Holy shit, what if we play Death Watch with these guys?
Why not these guys?
Because the chapter I mentioned seems legitimately interesting and not something you'd make jokes of.
