uh?
Say WHAT.
You can go back to the slums after reaching oldtown.
You can fast travel between Old Town and the Slums after you first enter Old Town.
the "cut in half 30 zombies" challenge is fucking bullshit
the game loves to autolock you to zombies heads midswing if they get too close and swinging for the middle tends to cut off either legs or heads/arms for some reason
its a really annoying challenge and i wish they didnt put this type of dumb shit in
if i could turn off the stupid as fuck "lmao zombie about 2 bite you since you're a dumb fucker we're going to lock you onto the zmb head lmao it feels good to cut off heads right?!?!?!" shit
Yeah, I've been having trouble with this while doing the arm-cut challenge. The game tries to be too helpeful and autoaims at the head, so I'm lucky to get 1 arm, let alone 2. It's also kind of annoying having to run around finding zombies during the challenges; I've failed plenty simply from running out of zombies.
The easiest way to do the cut in half challenge is to do the heavy weapon 360 attack. I finished the challenge in like 30 seconds because you can get 8 kills with 1 360.
it sucks how you can't freeroam after you finish the game
when you click continue it just brings you back to the last checkpoint before the ending

you can though?
my continue takes me to the regular tower. even the loading dialogue recaps the ending that just happened.
aaa my game must have bugged out
Played for a while today, done my first night which was an interesting change of pace, really liked that.
I also done my first agility challenge, which was godawful because the bindings on a 360 pad suck. RB to jump which, if youre lightly pressing any direction darts you in that direction instead. So many jumps that ended with me hitting the floor :'(
But all in all, im really enjoying things so far. cant wait for the weekend to really sink some time in to things
You can go back to the slums after reaching oldtown.
Oh, I knew that.
I thought you meant fast travel in general.
Oh, I knew that.

I've played for almost 24 hours now and I'm only 38% into the story. Probably the most fun I've had in a while tbh.
I'm thinking about getting this game seeing as I really loved Dead Island, but I have mixed feelings because I want a survival/zombie game, not a horror-survival which is what this seems to turn into at night. Also, the regular zombies seem annoyingly difficult to kill. I liked in Dead Island being able to just give a zombie 2-3 slices and he is dead but in Dying Light it looks like every zombie needs 5-10 hits at least to get it.
How is the co-op mode? Is it full time, as in you can do (nearly, if not the entire) campaign in co-op? I think if I could do that, it would really alleviate the issue of me not liking the nighttime horror aspect.
So, I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but the doll you pick up for the kid in the tower from his dads pawnshop is actually Ray McCall from Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood and etc., one of my favorite games. I didn't notice it at the time, but I went up to it on my desk in the tower and looked at it, and well, it is!
Pretty cool! Nice to see a nod to their older games, especially one as massively underrated as BiB.
Snapping necks is pretty great. I just spent an entire night doing it while camouflaged, i'll end this zombie outbreak one neck at a time.

Night time is fine as there really aren't a whole lot of missions that are done at night, and there are safehouses every 100 metres so you can sleep. Besides as long as you pay attention to your minimap and don't do dumb shit its pretty easy to avoid the volatiles.
And zombies take a while to kill only early on, when all you've got are shitty pipes and table legs
If anything I wish nighttime was a bit more dangerous. Once you have it figured out it's pretty easy, especially since safe houses are everywhere. The whole horde should sprint after you screaming and attracting more and more zombies. I've had a few frantic moments where I'm desperately kicking zombies off the bus I clambered onto but that's only in really high density areas like the bridge. It looks like gameplay mods are starting to come out, so maybe we'll get some difficulty/realism ones.

FUCK THIS GUY'S CHALLENGES. I suck at them so much, plus he's an asshole when you lose. :suicide:
I found a katana that deals 1200 damage what, I am at level 9 with my stuffs.

I had the same problem with a challenge where you had to break their legs really fucking annoying since it'd make you stop crouching, aim up and hit them in the head no matter where you aimed.
I bought a spintires key from g2a. Got the game okay, but it was JANKY as fuck, kinda like if you've ever downloaded STALKER mods off of russian sites while inebriated. Make sure to triple or quadruple check that you're getting the right key for your region.
There's another way to install STALKER mods?
Me and a friend are buying this on PC this Friday to do the campaign co-op with voice chat, should be fun.
Been mostly into console gaming but didn't like how they handled the physical release and delaying it, with digital prices on console being way too much.

i haven't even met rais yet
come at me
Someone playing this game on GTX 770 4gb? I can play smooth on ultra with a i5?
Anyone up for co-opping the entire game with new characters? (PC, EU) Fair warning, I'm one of those people that tries to do any other stuff before doing story missions :v:
so yeah i just launched the game for the first time on my new computer and i have strange issues with textures ( screenshot is not mine, it's brt one, but the issue is exactly the same )
[t]http://puu.sh/f4Trn.png[/t]
any idea ?
What do you have texture quality on? Heard it sometimes happens with medium settings, fucking off and doing something out in the city for a bit fixes it afaik.
What do you have texture quality on? Heard it sometimes happens with medium settings, fucking off and doing something out in the city for a bit fixes it afaik.
medium or max produced the same results
I haven't managed to fix that either, also tried medium and high settings. Luckily it only seems to affect signs and some small objects, outside of the tower you'll only notice it every once in a while.
The specific sound I'm talking about really doesn't fit in though. The sounds that come from actual zombies near youare fine. And growls that sounds like its from far away really is good ambiance, but too often there is this disembodied sound that makes it seem like a bunch of zombies are heading your way. It sounds a lot like when you alert the horde in L4D, only no zombies come after you. They use it so often in situations were it doesn't fit that it makes me wonder why it's there in the first place.
After re-reading my post today I see that I was really unclear about what specific things i was talking about. If re-wrote the post now it would probably make more sense, but I can't be arsed as it seems like it's just a rant of uninteresting opinons to you guys.
I think I know what sound you're talking about, the horde call sound like when you make a loud noise, right? I think that may actually be zombies spawning in the distance, though, since I've seen random volatiles come out of the sewers or break down a door and spawn pretty far off in the distance. Plus it just goes back to you not being the only person in the city, from an immersion standpoint it could just be some other guy messing up and drawing a horde.
