The story is above average I'd say. I actually wanted to complete it at least.
I really wish the care packages had more real importance - like if I didn't get one or two each day that bad shit goes down for the people in the tower, even if it was just text or a general mood change, people who you pass by missing or replaced by a fresh face or something.
What this game needs, in my opinion, is a large piece of DLC that makes the game behave a little more like say, State of Decay. They got the game down pat, the gameplay is great, movement is great, crafting and what not is all more than acceptable, but there's no meta game. There's no reason to care about your survivors or anything. So, a largish(it would just have to be the map we already have really) DLC where we get to set up a base, set up defenses, keep the food coming in, get other survivors ready and able to help you(maybe a "missions" page where you send your other runners to go do things with a percentage for them to fail or succeed based on their skills) where the basic survival of your friends, survivors and etc depends on you leading the team successfully. I don't know, maybe that's just me. I played State of Decay, greatly enjoyed it, but got frustrated by the lackluster combat, and the short campaign length/sandbox running out of stuff to do too quickly. Dying Light has all of it's bases covered on that end, it just needs a "meta" game or an extenuating goal. Anyone else feel that way?
bought the game today, did 6 hours straight and im sitting at 15% completion my only main gripe is that the coop system is still as clunky as dead island, in the sense that people leave coop on and then leave as soon as you connect, and you have to sit through another loading screen before you can try and find a new session

A system like Dying Light and Last of Us would be SO GOOD. Also, what's planned for the DLC tomorrow? Anyone know?

I'm at that point where I'm just a zombie murdering machine, so I purposefully go out at night and stand in the middle of a large open area and start firing my gun in the air to attract everything, then go on a fucking rampage until morning. Also slicing things apart vertically is so fucking satisfying.
I wish there were more parts like in the museum right before [sp]you find jade[/sp] where there so many zombies that they're all shoulder to shoulder in a giant mass. A true horde of zombies, like this: [t]http://www.simonprior.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/dawn04-2.jpg[/t]
fun fact i killed all of those zombies every single one [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] it was a blast [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] also crane's va is chris redfield and considering that is a man who punched a bolder into lava i feel like him and crane are one in the same
Guess not.
Can anyone even get into a matchmaking game for be the zombie??
Can anyone even get into a matchmaking game for be the zombie??
I did once but it took like 30 tries
He's also booker from bioshock, getting nosebleeds from the female scantly clad zombies.
Booker was Troy Baker, Crane was Roger Craig Smith (though I did confuse him for Troy Baker when I first heard Crane :v:).
Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who confused Crane to be voiced by Troy Baker. It's weird to think how ironically fitting Roger Craig Smith is for the role from both a talent perspective, and just because he voices a character who's known for running fast when your character in Dying Light runs around everywhere at high speeds. As for my overall opinion on the game, I have to say I was VERY pleasantly surprised by it. I initially expected it to be pretty shit because Techland utterly failed with Dead Island and ruined Call of Juarez with The Cartel, in my opinion, so I wasn't expecting much. I played a bit of it at a friend's place on their PS4 and had a lot of fun with it and the co-op, so I was initially going to wait for it to go on sale on Steam. However, with Techland's reaction to the whole modding controversy by immediately fixing the issues and also stating they're creating actual modding tools for the game, it just made me take the dive and get it. Needless to say, I'm loving the ride so far. Game plays great, looks great, and has a good story. Techland actually supporting the community around the game is just a nice slab of delicious icing on the cake. Only thing I'm having issues with is the game lagging whenever a cutscene starts or I get grabbed/spit on by a zombie. To be fair though, my PC has the exact hardware in it that's known for having issues with the game currently (AMD processor with a GTX 970), so I guess that's to be expected. Dying Light Manager helps a bit, but I'm really hoping the issues get addressed in the next update.
The story is amazing, what are you on about?
What are you on?
if you couldn't predict 90% of what was going to happen next, you're incredibly naive or new to zombie fiction story was pretty generic really
I was really hoping they'd stay away from the whole [sp] "they're trying to weaponize the virus!" trope [/sp] at the very least.
Personally I think Crane is a bonehead, he makes a lot of very ill-advised decisions and the attempts at making him seem aware of his status as a zombie killing-machine come off as self-deprecating rather than humorous. Still, it helps knowing he's voiced by Sonic the Hedgehog. I look at it like some sort of alternate universe reimagining of Sonic. Crane does go fast, after all.
Well, turning off the NVIDIA DoF option seems to have actually killed the cutscene and zombie grab lag for me. Also, Dying Light Manager seems to be giving me some weird graphical artifacts, and disabling CA only seems to work when my health is above half, so I think I'm going to stop using it until it's fixed (which might be never considering the creator doesn't see the issues people are having on his end).
Mod tools when :^(
I would love the world to be a little bit more dynamic and responsive. Also the game and atmosphere are great when it rains, it completely changes the atmosphere, I really love it.
so is it me or does there need to be a mod that allows you to break down doors? running into a locked door to find there's absolutely no way in besides maybe some sidequest that gives you a key is frustrating, i just want to look cool and either kick it down or break it down with my rebar club.

If the window is transparent, it's breakable
I figured that some houses are accessible by breaking a window and jumping in. If the window is transparent, it's breakable
aren't...aren't all windows transparent?
I find it hilarious that crane is basically a mix between sonic and batman and the va has voiced both
aren't...aren't all windows transparent?
I mean some windows are just textures slapped on a building, and other are covered by stuff. Crane was really good, outside of the antizin crap. The other characters arent nearly as memorable for sure :v:
I love some of the shit he says when you get grabbed while running, its very subtle and he doesn't yell its like under his breath he says "Get off me" or "Fuck off" its the little things. [sp]Is the line at the end when you jump from the dam onto the pile of trash bags: "One of these days I'm going to jump onto these and theres gunna be a bag full of rusty knives" a random thing or is it part of the mission?[/sp]
[VID]http://a.pomf.se/xvlnre.webm[/VID] :pwn: i can't wait for the fucking mod tools jesus i will make every zombie beg for their life jesus that shit got me hard as a rock
First time I got attacked by runner zombies, I actually got spooked when he actually uttered words after the first hit, I actually stopped attacking him and waited, until he screeched again and mauled me.
First time I got attacked by runner zombies, I actually got spooked when he actually uttered words after the first hit, I actually stopped attacking him and waited, until he screeched again and mauled me.
Yeah. I think when they start to talk they should stop for a little while, like three or four seconds, before attacking you again. Right now it's way too quick, you don't really have the time to enjoy that randomness, or sometimes to even notice.
