So how many of you guys play with a controller?
I tried with KB + M but something about it seems super off.
KB+M here. Feels fine for me.
Firearms feel a bit weird when ADS though, but in a game that's mostly focused on melee combat, I can't really fault it that much if it doesn't get firearms perfect.
Random question, but how many of you guys play online? Like have your game set to public?
I decided to try it fairly early on, and got invaded the night I did by some guy who kept destroying me because I had fuck all.
I think online might be a thing I try again when I'm playing co-op with a friend or two. Going against the spiderman zombie solo is pretty much a death sentence for me right now.
Did anyone notice that the [sp]sewers you go through in the final mission[/sp] is the same as those you see in the trailer? [sp]sorry if late[/sp]
When I got to the jump at the end and I had a horde of Volatiles chasing me I was like "Wait a minute..."
I love some of the shit he says when you get grabbed while running, its very subtle and he doesn't yell its like under his breath he says "Get off me" or "Fuck off"
its the little things.
[sp]Is the line at the end when you jump from the dam onto the pile of trash bags: "One of these days I'm going to jump onto these and theres gunna be a bag full of rusty knives" a random thing or is it part of the mission?[/sp]
yeah when he has a close call and goes 'fffffffuuck' under his breath. he is a much more natural voice actor than toy breaker.

Yeah, the zombie seems to either wreck a survivor or be no threat at all, with no middle ground most of the time. I was expecting it to be more like Resident Evil 6's system where someone drops in as a regular zombie/monster that's just a bit stronger and gives you decent loot if you kill it.
Quick question, do enemy hp/weapon dmg still scale with player level like Dead Island? That system really pissed me off no end and reminded me of the Borderland series, numbers for numbers' sake. I can understand finding better weapons, but a lvl 20 knife somehow doing more damage than a level 5 cleaver is just absurd.
So I have been playing this for a bit and it finally just registered with me how fucking terrifying the initial outbreak mustve been. I was thinking "how did all these fucks get caught by these slow zombies" and then I remembered how virals are recently changed zombies. So at the initial outbreak there must've been a shit load of virals just jumping on everyone.
are virals recently changed zombies i thought they were just runners or something and their physical attributes eg running carried over

It doesn't exactly scale in the same sense as DI but weapons you find do get better similar to Dead Island. You'll gradually stop finding as many wrenches and lead pipes and instead be finding bastard swords and shit because apparently everyone in zombie infested cities keeps swords and stuff in their wicker chests for some reason.
I'm not 100% sure about zombies getting tougher though but I don't think they do since in the beginning you can be beating them around the face with a wrench and it'll take a while for them to drop but you can instantly bisect them with one swing from some of the swords you start getting later. The 'Goon' special zombie (and maybe some of the others too, but I think the goons are the only ones who get visual changes) do start getting replaced by tougher versions though. They start off as maintenance workers, then get replaced by firefighters and then by muscley mutant guys.

recently changed. The reason they have runner gear on is to show they are recent and were still human to the point of becoming a runner.

Enemies stay the same, but new enemies are introduced as the story progresses, so the game can be more challenging without buffing the regular zombies. With a high level sword or machete, zombies get cut down like you're mowing the lawn.
Im confused at the speed at which you become a zombie.
Mid-game spoilers
[sp]When Rahim gets bit it takes like an ingame hour for him to turn. but Crane gest bit and then presumably gets Antizin within that hour, meaning for the rest of the game you only need it like once more.[/sp]
End game spoilers
[sp]Same when Jade got bit, we don't know when she got bit but it must've been more than an hour before she turns.[/sp]
So does Antizin prevent the infection for like a week? And without it do you turn almost immediately?
[editline]11th February 2015[/editline]
Also whats the max damage you guys have managed to get a weapon up to, I got a two handed blacksmith hammer or something up to 349 with a modification or two.

I think the game basically just allows that flexibility for the sake of gameplay.
Remember how everything is so urgent in the game, but you can do sidequests for months and it's "just in time." I wouldn't take that stuff as straight.

While I'm loving all the powerful sharp/bladed weapons and slicing zombie limbs up, I wish wrenches, pipes, bats, hammers and other blunt weapons still appear more often, but with just a leveled up scaling or something. I miss bone crunching and meaty bashing weapons against the zombies. I kinda regret grinding a lot too early into the story since I got to level 19 on both agility and power levels (and 17 on survivor level) before [sp]getting to Old Town.[/sp] Hope a mod or update allows a more extreme difficulty mode that makes the game harder and allows weaker weapons to spawn still into the mix, or make the really powerful weapons spawn rarely even on a high XP level.

Picks, axes, and stuff like that are still considered blunt weapons and still do a great deal of damage. The variety of weapon changes, but the weapon type remains relatively the same. Though bladed weapons just in general I think have a higher damage cap. I run around with a 1400 damage sword currently and a 600 pickaxe.

Guess I meant more on that I miss the whole aesthetics and charm of the simplicity, crudeness and roughness of the lower tier variety of blunt weapons yeah. There's just that really different satisfying feel on bashing a zombie's head with a hammer, wrench, baseball bat or a pipe comparing to bashing them with an axe or pickaxe.
Still really do love one hitting and slicing zombies up with the late game sabers and stuff, though I just miss the simpler weapons sometimes while roaming around the city. :v:
Yeah. [sp]It's a shame the PC didn't get to bang her. [/sp]
Yeah. Crane must blueballed as fuck. I was sure he was going for her, or maybe[sp]Troy[/sp], but no, he just wanted to fuck Rais.
So you're supposed to get [sp] Rais' pistol as a usable weapon[/sp] from that sidequest in the hotel right? The game sort of gipped me out of it because I had a full inventory when I picked it up (since it wasn't a normal weapon pickup the game let me take it anyway) and it had nowhere to put it and I guess it just sort of fell out of existence. Is it any good? Am I missing out on much?

[sp]I'd say you're not missing much imo, it's just a pistol that does around 200 damage and is a burst fire.[/sp]

I was surprised with the guy's history. Sonic the Hedgehog, Ezio Auditore, Chris Redfield, Arkham Origins' Batman... I hadn't really heard the name before, but I'd sure heard his voice.
Is there any way for me to force a glitched quest that i never recieved into my quest list on console? What does the [sp]spacegun from that one guy[/sp] do?

[sp] You have to go through the tunnel at the top right of the slums [/sp]
Now this is how you fight.
Possible spoilers, late game fight.

Well, after 26 hours the game is finished. Kind of a shame that the ending is singleplayer only, I really don't know why they did that when I'd just spend 25 hours of the game with a friend, doing everything together in co-op, as such I didn't enjoy the ending at all. Felt meh since I was no longer playing with my buddy.
Overall though the game was pretty decent, certainly had fun playing the co-op. The performance was a little shoddy and some silly bugs, like getting stuck in stuff or the slightly annoying deaths from things that are out of my control let it down a little but overall, defiantly worth the money.
Hard mode and new skins are coming.

Seeing that singleplayer only on the door to final area was such a disappointing feeling...
