I wished there was [sp]a way to save Jade, really have to kill off the attractive female protagonist? i understand its storyline/horror gaem but come on already had to kill her brother...[/sp]
I noticed that all the side missions basically ignore what happens at the end of the game too. Reminds me of skyrim.

[sp]I didn't care for either Jade and Rahim, they never gave me a reason to like them other than one of them saved your life and were both nothing more than damsels in distress.[/sp]

Fuck that.

I'm not sure if that part is working or not, though I don't really have my flashlight on for long except at night. Luckily it's pretty easy to cut out the parts of any mod you don't like by deleting the relevant files. I think the flashlight stuff is in the inventory files somewhere. I mostly use it for the loot and lower HP, it's nice to actually have to scavenge and be careful in fights with regular zombies.
I still want to be able to find knives late game because I find them much more useful as throwing weapons rather than the throwing knife items.

kinda wish loot didnt scale with you, so you could find really op shit in the early game, or you could find nothing but useless garbage in the lategame, depending on your luck
This is where I think having a more clear-cut level system for both the players and enemies would've helped. If you had that, then you could scale the areas so some are more dangerous than others, allowing you to run high risk high reward runs through them.

Maybe not Jade, but Rahim totally felt like a bro. They should've made the PC interact with him a little more, though. Guy reminds me strongly of a childhood friend I had when I lived in the Middle East.
I picked up a propane tank right before a cutscene in coop yesterday, and this happened:

The fucking propane tank was parented to Brecken and my camera angles were locked. :v:
That "love" story was so damn stupid. You see Jade twice in the friggin game and I couldnt give less of a fuck about her.
Has anyone else gotten this issues where you didn't [sp]recieve Rais' gun because your inventory was full?[/sp] It's impossible to retrieve once you've done the quest as well.
I really dig the atmosphere from Rupert's basement. Shit creeped me out.
That "love" story was so damn stupid. You see Jade twice in the friggin game and I couldnt give less of a fuck about her.
There never was a love story. Not even a hint of one. She was just someone the protagonist seemed to really respect and care for as a friend.
[editline]12th February 2015[/editline]
Though even the friendship was a stretch. Like you said, you talk to her all of twice or three times.

Crane describes her as being a "pretty girl" on multiple occasions which seem to be a pretty big hint of a love interest.
I love how easily modifiable this game is.
The snafu with blocking the mods aside, it seems that this game was designed from the ground up to be very modifiable. Looking through the files and recently released mods I noticed a few things.
Some of the developers knew EXACTLY what modders like to touch and made those things really easy to do; changing around stats, tweaking behaviors and spawn-volumes.
Judging from the first model replacements/skins and new weapons already appearing, it seems that the format for these aren't locked down (or at least un-lockabe, format-wise).
The sheer number of mods being released and worked supports this; Change a few text-files, plop em in the right directory and presto-chango, you've got yourself a mod.
Anyone and their pet-monkey can do it.
This makes me inclined to side with Techland on this; their reaction to modding by "blocking" (ineffectively) them was most likely a bit of a knee-jerk reaction against cheating, rather than a malicious attempt to block modding.
It might not have been the game's design or a management decision to make it modifiable, but to have the game be as tweakable as it is, has to be an intentional change by the people who wrote the code.
It may have been done to make their own jobs easier though.
Balancing passes for things like damage done or loot drops can be done a lot faster if you load them at run-time, instead of having to recompile the entire game every time you want to change a value.
I predict this game is going to have similar levels of modding as STALKER or perhaps even Skyrim and such.
Lets just hope it doesn't end up in "Better Busty Bodies for Zombies" or "FF7 Cloud's big-ass sword" or shit like that...
Crane describes her as being a "pretty girl" on multiple occasions which seem to be a pretty big hint of a love interest.
Saying that only reminds me of the part where [sp]the Saviors move you to the other zone and while you're moving you ask the guy he's seen Jade, describing her as "pretty girl". I'd have love if he'd just say "Well, that's pretty subjective, homie. Now, I could say 'yeah, and I'm looking for a strong, handsome looking man, you know where to find him?' but I don't need to ask that now do I?" and then just dead silence for the rest of the trip.[/sp]
I've finished my first playthrough and have dived back into it again, this time with matchmaking on. I am now thoroughly convinced that anyone complaining about the parkour mechanics just sucks at the game because aside from that one awkward ledge in the prologue when you have to activate that trap in the trainyard for Spike I've experienced no issues with it at all.
Lets just hope it doesn't end up in "Better Busty Bodies for Zombies" or "FF7 Cloud's big-ass sword" or shit like that...
I'd actually like to see this, not gonna lie. [sp]Especially the first mod, unf.[/sp]
Is there a fix for some specific textures being low quality even if Texture Quality is set to High/Medium? Usually text graffiti like "<-- Exit", certain furniture and signs above buildings are completely pixelated and blurred. Everything else is the proper texture quality though. I've got a great PC and the game runs fine but these textures were really distracting in my playthrough, and with this hard mode coming out I'd like to have it fixed by my next playthrough.
Also, fuck Boomers. They were almost all of my deaths (other than the occasional fall). I'd be fighting a Goon, dodging his heavy rebar and landing an attack, all of a sudden explosion and I'm dead. Boomer came from behind and exploded and I didn't even hear him, and he wasn't on the minimap. Or, open a door, Boomer's there, instinctively swing my weapon, realize I'm fucked and die. Or, shoot a Boomer with a gun at a mid distance, still get knocked down anyways, and another Boomer comes while I'm trying to get up and I die. I wish the gurgling they made was loud enough so you could hear them above all the other sounds going on. I only died about five or so times to them but each time was frustrating as hell.
Also it seems like 5.1 surround sound is a bit spotty in the game too, that could be why I never heard Boomers.
I have a feeling that the text graffiti is MS paint style if your view distance is at the very bottom
I have a feeling that the text graffiti is MS paint style if your view distance is at the very bottom
Mines is at the very bottom and I don't get this problem.
I remember I would plan out my events carefully and prepare right, and be cautious at night.
Then my friend who takes nothing serious when we play joined and it all goes to hell, now I'm running left and right dying constantly over stupid stuff and destroying volatiles like nothing. Kicking Volatiles off the edge of a building when they're climbing never gets old.
[sp]That way you cut off Rais' hand made me say out loud "Okay now we're in Farcry with zombies, I have no problem with this" [/sp] still awesome regardless
I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Looking at trailers, and early gameplay, it didn't appear like anything more than Dead Island with freerunning to me. When I actually gave it a chance, it's pretty much what I actually wanted Dead Island to be. Night in particular is really fun for me, just wish it lasted a little longer.
I can't wait to see what the modding capabilities will bring in the future.
One thing I've noticed is if your on a shite tier PC with the textures settings on medium (Like me)
The fucking loading screen hints are in low quality too. The images are really blurry.

Nope. I have this issue too and it's the same if you have the distance slider at the max. I went through and changed up the settings one after the other so I covered a lot of different combinations of things and none of it had any effect, so I don't think this bug is related to what your settings are at all. I did manage to fix it for one play session after I updated my drivers, but every session since then it's been back how it was.

Hmm, did you try the cpu fix thing? I originally had the problem too and it was either turning up the view distance or doing the cpu fix that got it looking normal for me.
Crane describes her as being a "pretty girl" on multiple occasions which seem to be a pretty big hint of a love interest.
I got absolutely no feeling of love interest when playing outside of "She is female, and she is attractive"

Then I think that last point is maybe why he felt more meaningful, because he was a pretty flat character. He likes explosives, he has a sister, and he doesn't care about his safety. And the dialogue did barely anything to really reveal much about him, and he died before he really even got close to Crane. Two missions of maybe 25minutes of gameplay and they're close friends.
Just felt like a plot tool to get Crane angry and to introduce other characters. I'd feel the same about Jade, but she atleast affected how certain parts of the story changed and evolved. It's odd, but I'm glad she got pissed at Crane was a nice change.
Crane describes her as being a "pretty girl" on multiple occasions which seem to be a pretty big hint of a love interest.
i dunno about you but there are plenty of girls that given a situation where i needed to track them down for whatever reason like Crane did, id probably throw in 'attractive' or 'pretty'. Doesn't mean you're into em, really.

But throwing in them being 'attractive' or 'pretty' doesn't really help with anything; Jade isn't the only pretty girl in the Harran , maybe they didn't find Jade pretty, etc.
But frankly, I don't really give a damn about Jade, so I don't care if there was actually anything between Jade and Crane :v:

I love how the game sometimes shows people's skulls even when their heads aren't attached anymore.
