Looks fucking boss.
Just a few things. Move speed seems a little slow for a quake game, and the minigun dudes (i dunno their name) open fire instantly (normally they spin up for half a second or so)
But I mean those are just teeny tweaks, this looks fucking awesome.
Reminds me of Facewound if I'm honest.
Aaaaahh, what a fail ! And I even had "Cryptography and computer security" class last semester, but we never used notepad to hack stuff :v:
Thank you all for trying out the game, I now feel like the hard work payed of :) even though my giveaway failed hard. I hope those games wont collect dust in Tobba's Steam account ;)
Facewound , Soldat, Metal Slug... it was all my inspiration.
Looks pretty awesome
I mean I'd personally rather see something like this for Quake 1, but still awesome nonetheless.
Also seeing Quake 2 in 2D makes me realize how close it looks to Abuse
Yea, I never heard about Abuse before, but now everybody is mentioning it. It really does look very similar.
I've written a short tutorial for the map and animation editor. I probably forgot to write some stuff, but... it's not like anyone will need it anyway.

Also here are some codes/cheats you can use in the game:
Wien - unlocks the game
bullettime – bullettime (see controls)
fly – flying (see controls)
give all – give all weapons, health, keys
notarget – enemies wont attack you
noclip – go trough walls (lasers and water still works)
Even though there are only 4 weapons in the main game, I've also coded rocket and grenade launcher, minigun, railgun and hyperblaster and ammo items. Textures were not updated (uses Serious Sam textures).
Sorry for bumping up a 2 year old thread, but I am releasing the source code to public. You can download the code on my GitHub page.

For more details about this project you can check out the blog I now have. There are updated download links for the game if somebody wants to try it out.

I have also uploaded a video that shows that the game actually works. In short you'll be seeing flying Luigi blowing up Quake 2 enemies using Serious Sam weapons in bullet time.

I have been working on my new game engine for a while now and I made a "Soldat meets Quake 2" multiplayer prototype. Unfortunately I haven't managed to make the online play work, not sure if it's because of my router and firewall settings or the code, but it more or less works in LAN. Bots still don't have AI, they just read my stored input commands to move around and send it to server, so I could record the video. The other half of the video(1:30) shows a local bot match on single screen.
You can read more about it on my blog, and download and try it out. Any feedback would be great (how does the player movement feel, are weapons any good...), because I have no one to test this.
