I've been looking at how skills have changed throughout the Elder Scrolls games and it made me wonder what kind of new skills would be nice to see in future games. Personally I'd like Unarmored from Morrowind to return and maybe a skill that lets you entertain others by playing instruments and such. It would make it easier to roleplay as a bard.
I'd like to see Unarmored/Unarmed. Although a music skill would kinda be useless tbh. I'd rather it be merged with Speechcraft or at least have them focus on the usefulness of Speechcraft before adding it too many new skills.
When I created my current Skyrim character I was expecting to be mainly a mage. Now I rely on my crossbow as much as I do my magic. I may even start carrying a variety of enchanted crossbows to use against different enemies.
I honestly don't know what Bethesda were thinking when they made magic do flat damage.
Probably "eh they're going to mod it anyway" I guess, not that that's an acceptable reason. Plus it takes a huge amount of time for magic to become total garbage and they seemed to have skimped on testing in general
The idea of the flat damage was to avoid having to make many version of the same spell, and the goal was to have the damage scale with your skill level to a high degree. The problem is, the scaling is fixed and generally tied to perks, so it's rubbish. I also wish Unarmed was still a skill, because punching the shit out of the world is the best.

The more advanced spells, like chain lighting, while awesome on paper, costs a lot of mana and aren't that decisive in a fight. As of now I stick to frostbite because, if anything, it works wonders on melee humanoids (which are my current weakness, since I can slash casters easily via crits and manuver around larger enemies and get them slowly) Truth be told, my most used spell is healing, given at this point my one-handed heavy attacks and random crits are my main source of damage and healing can support me if things go dire

I mean at high levels of play spells like frostbite do so little damage that after a full minute of constant casting it will have barely registered on their health bar. If you take a high tier weapon and smith/enchant it + enchant 4 pieces of equipment with fortify one/two handed you'll probably kill it in one hit. Destruction enchants just reduce mana cost.
I know that there are some mods out there to buff destruction. One of them adds a Destruction Damage enchantment, and the other makes all magic spells scale with your level. They're pretty damn useful for mages.
Bring back Acrobatics/Athletics. I want to Go Fast.
So is anyone going to be trying ES:O since they made it subscription-free?
I plan to, I see no reason to not.
If I can get a PS4 copy cheap enough, I'd try it. I got Defiance for $5.

I think I did try sperg or something at some point though, and I liked it
So is anyone going to be trying ES:O since they made it subscription-free?
Probably gonna re-activate my sub tonight, it's only a couple months till the sub is dropped and I kinda want to get back in and see what's happened in the meantime. For anyone else in NA who wants to join up, my veteran rank templar is on daggerfall covenant.
What SweetFX would any of you guys recommend? I'm using Project ENB - Fantasy, but I want a really good SweetFX to go with it.

So I was in the Winking Skeever turning on Frostfall and everything. Soon as I close MCM I crouched down and put my hands up a little girl's dress for warmth.
Need something?
Septimus Signus hired thugs to kill me for stealing from his outpost. This was after [sp]he was disintegrated by daedra.[/sp]

The new armour dying stations are really cool, it's neat unlocking new colours from getting achievos and there's set dying, fill, and individual colouring for 3 sections of each piece of equipment
If you like quests ESO is fantastic. It's similiar to The Secret World. I didn't get too far before my sub ran out, but I was still just exploring the first bits of the Morrowind area after 20 hours or so. Big game, will be good in VR. The combat isn't fantastic, but Skyrim's isn't either. It's mainly the physics based reactions that are lacking, because it's an MMO.

I'm in
Had to uninstall Dragon Combat Overhaul, as it... well, since the mod author had the brilliant idea of making dragon assaults "better". I ended up getting swarmed by literally dozens of dragons, eventually they would just keep spawning non stop until ctd :v: [t]http://cloud-2.steamusercontent.com/ugc/44242915985539619/53A349543C2FC913244E153C6CCA34E706323C5E/[/t]
Oh it definitely is, it's most likely a conflict with live another life. Problem is he doesn't give you any option to disable features he's showed in there, so in case of conflicts or bugs you can't easily fix it yourself. Option is either wait for him to fix it, or uninstalling it, and iirc he said he's on a break for a month or so. [editline]23rd January 2015[/editline] Also doesn't help his mod descriptions are a real mess, so tracking down known issues, incompatabilities etc, is really cumbersome.
so a friend of mine that went to quakecon 2014 (the year that i didn't go) picked up multiple keys for a full copy of elder scrolls online and he gave me one so that when the game drops the sub model in march we can play as fat argonians together.
