The Elder Scrolls Megathread XVI: Loremaster Extraordinaire

ESO is the Fallout Tactics of the series as far as canon goes: if ESO says something, its legit unless some other game disagrees. "this was never mentioned" is NOT the same as a disagreement.
incidentally this is probably the reason Bethesda never goes back in time, you people argue too much
well how bad is the lore in eso on a scale of vivec doesn't exist to health potions are op
bethesda didn't develop it they only published it. therefore non-canon. even the loremaster guy said a while back it was non-canon, on top of that there's plenty of shit in eso that contradicts the established verse of the elder scrolls universe, so yeah it isn't canon.
simply put, eso is about as canon as swtor is.

So remind me, what's the climate and native people of Cyrodiil again?

Their "loremaster" is a fucking hack. Half the shit that references what little existing 2E lore is wrong.
However all the new shit the writers cooked up based on their really bad idea of existing TES lore is pretty solid. And since "new shit" greatly outnumbers "old shit", it results in a lot of Morrowind era Bethesda quality writing, perhaps better, but without so much Kirkbride weirdness.

there is no canon climate and native people for Cyrodiil earlier than 3E433 because of Tiber Septim and his CHIM bullshit, you can't blame ESO for that one

My favourite is when they say it as you're leaving the damned cave.

My point is lore changes, retcons happen. Also, it's a series spanning careers in the industry so with the passing of the torch comes new eyes and new ideas.
Also, there's never a straight answer in-universe, might as well not be one out-of-story.
What accent would you give argonians?
I'd go with russian

WHAT ARE YEW DOIN IN ME SWAMP
Why did you turn Saadia into a vampire pirate?
I'm turning everyone into vampires. As for the pirate part, I had the items in my inventory and figured she should be battling in something other than bar wench uniform.
She also wields Dawnbreaker and Spellbreaker because why not
Poor Lu'ah Al-Skaven. She tried her best to seem like a boss, but I just happened to have a greatsword and then she happened to have no head.
Maybe she should've considered another line of work.

I was thinking maybe I should give Lydia some really good armor and maybe I'll think she's less useless then
Right now she's in the way, dies somewhat quickly and says stupid shit
if I give her good armor(she's still in her basic iron) like ebony or orcish then maybe she'll just say stupid shit and be in the way all the time
I also got the power that prevents you dealing damage to companions, but I still hurt her
I'm thinking about getting Moonpath to Elsweyr, any big gripes about it that I need to know?

She levels with the player but to level 50. By then she should have her one handed and heavy armor maxed out. She's pretty solid.

Can't say I've heard anything particularly bad about it, but then I haven't heard anything really good about it either.
Save before you install it, but go for it.
I've started building a little Nordic ruin home for myself, and I now remember just how easily the Creation Kit can drive me to insanity. It takes about 5 minutes or so with this thing before I'm about ready to throw my monitor out the window.

Maybe if you stopped saying nasty things about her you wouldn't hurt her :'(

Linear as hell, godawful voice acting in places, and it's pretty boring. Only really good for the environments.
Recently found out you can attack with both weapons at once in Skyrim without doing a power attack.
Does anyone know why my custom follower doesn't have a heal rate?

How long have you had skyrim lol

Near launchday. Never thought to try before, hardly ever dual wield weapons.
Dual Wielding is pretty useless anyway, no real point in ever using it at least in Vanilla.
On another note I've recently installed Real Estate and Trade Routes. Five hours in and my character owns nearly all of Whiterun, I make twenty thousand septims a week and I regularly go on month-long trade circuits across the country to get mad rich.
It's a shame it's not very compatible with ETaC and some houses/businesses aren't actually purchasable, but it's really fun. You can also raise the rent to impossible levels and have everyone hate you and send assassins to kill you, it's pretty hilarious.

NOT IF YOU HAVE A FLINTLOCK PISTOL
serouisly it was OP as fuck shame there aren't any other onehanded ranged weapons like darts or something
I want a mini-crossbow that isn't as powerful but could be wielded one handed.
[editline]13th April 2015[/editline]
Oh shit there is a mod for that.

There's a mod that adds throwing weapons, it makes dual wielding axes especially fun because you attack with one upclose and throw the other.
It even comes with throwing potions and shit. Was a pretty neat mod.

Meh. Just started recently. I've had to cheat a few times either because I the switch to open a door wasn't working for some reason or I had no clue where to go. Not sure if it's just buggy as hell or I'm an idiot.

Is it? Also I don't like how it's basically a staff.
