The Elder Scrolls Megathread XVI: Loremaster Extraordinaire

I just finished the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal 6/10
The environments were very well done for the most part. The biggest problem that I had was that nearly all the levers seemed to be broken. Like there were tons of times where there'd be a gate and a lever or two, and I'd pull the lever, which I assume was supposed to open the gate (or at least SOMETHING), but it wouldn't and I'd wander for 5-10 minutes looking for something to continue until I just said screw it and used TCL. Also near the end there was just this huge void where I'm assuming something is supposed to be.

Redownloaded and reinstalled but it was still there
Alright, anyone want to pick a target? Can be a dungeon, palace, house, or just a particular person. Perferably dungeon and a bandit/warlock/vampire one at that. Try not to get political. Also bonus points for picking something to sneak into Elenwen's bedroom.
You're going to have a hell of a time since no dungeon is properly suited for stealth, especially ghosting. You're not gunna get anywhere without invisibility-spam or just having the stealth skill out the wazoo
I just started using Two-Handed for the first time in this playthrough, and Sweep is amazing. You haven't lived until you've killed 3 people in one swing with a greatsword :v:

I haven't seen much of the other stuff in the mod but the environment in that picture (that isn't a void anyway) is not so great
like I know it's a mod but that looks like something you'd see way back in Knights of the Old Republic
So I've been wondering, are there any races other than Nords that the stormcloaks don't hate?
So I've been wondering, are there any races other than Nords that the stormcloaks don't hate?
dunno if it applies for the Stormcloaks but from what I understand Nords in general have a respect for Bretons due to common heritage
I love how crowded inns can get with the right mods without them getting too overpopulated

Why not both?

Bretons are primarily magic users, and also are super snooty compared to the laid-back but proud barbarian Nords.
Not really no.
It's not stated outright in game, but I imagine even the more racist Stormcloaks would have a respect for Redguards. Shared hatred of elves and proud warrior traditions, though their beliefs differ greatly. Same might extend to orcs since Skyrim takes place during a time where they're accepted in society, but traditionalist Stormcloaks probably wouldn't like them much.

Well it's not amazing but definitely above average.

People really should just wait for a province or two from Beyond Skyrim to come out (cause that's probably all they'll get done before they give up).
Or they could just focus on making pretty environments and not trying and failing to make a story-based mod out of it.
Didn't manage to find a mod that does that, but found this pretty cool mod that does the job.
[editline]14th April 2015[/editline]
This guy made some really cool looking sword & shield mods too.
I think all three of those are integrated into Immersive Weapons/Immersive Armor.
Anyone know why disabling Dual Sheath Redux would cause my game to CTD after the Bethesda Logo?
I think all three of those are integrated into Immersive Weapons/Immersive Armor.
But immersive weapons and armor are both really poorly made, resource hogging mods that should be avoided.
They're just really poorly done compilations.

Do you still have the patch activated by any chance ?

That would make sense.
Another question, are their any crash logs besides the ones you enable in the Skyrim.ini? (I hear it doesn't detail what causes a CTD) I'm still getting random CTD's after a few minutes and would like to track down what mod it is.
I can't think of any, but use LOOT and MO to establish a list of possible conflicts as well as reorganize your load order to automatically remove most load order related conflicts.

Also speaking of weapons, if you people are looking for good weapon mods there's always insanitysorrow who makes some really good stuff. It's got a lot of cool shit like historically accurate weapons and lore compliant stuff.
These are nice because other than some exceptions like the bastard which is overpowered it's basically just all about looks.
Of course the main issue is that you have to download his mods one by one and it takes quite a lot space but that can be merged.
But his Huntsman mod is pretty much what I mean when I say damage/armor ratings should be changed in the elder scrolls so that it has less flat value and instead scales more.
I killed a random bandit and he was carrying two treasure chests and an ancient Falmer scroll worth 1050 gold.
Why don't they just sell this shit and retire to Riften or Markarth or something? They'd live a lot longer, I'm sure.

I use a combination of LOOT and BOSS everytime I rearrange mods. The only issues arising are ITM records and Navmeshes. Would they cause CTDs?

Power and wealth begets more power and wealth.
And when you're a dumb bandit, this applies ten-fold.

replaces markarth guard armor with robot armor
owner should make a custom race that has all the guard's dialogue read in microsoft sam

This works really really well as brawling music for some reason.

I did some Googling since you said that and found this ULTRA-IMMERSIVE set:

Seriously, more protective doesn't have to mean more chunky.
Is there a mod that automatically gets rid of bodies after a while? Tired of walking past the same 4 dead wolves every time I leave riverwood.
Yea, it has some of that shit. Thankfully with Immersive Armors you can just disable the crappier ones. Outyside of that it has really nice additions like the Dwemer mage armor, the Barbarian armor, the Bosmer armor, and the unique stormcloak and imperial armors.
Opinion time again. That home I'm building in the CK is within a Nordic ruin near Winterhold. I built a big chamber into it, but I'm having trouble deciding between either filling the middle with water or with lava.

Agree for water, disagree for lava.
Why would there be lava, though? I don't recall the Winterhold region being volcanic. Is it really deep underground?
...It does look cool, regardless.
If you move it to Eastmarch it would make sense, but the methinks the lavafall is a tragedy waiting to happen.

female is worse
10% of armors shouldn't be in this pack

I want this dog. Can I have this dog? I'm taking this dog. I'll keep him in my coin purse. He'll be fine. Really.
