Depends on how 'expanded' you want them. If you want little additions that look beautiful but don't really touch anything much, try JK's Skyrim or the Dawn Of series. If you want many additions that add a lot of stuff and looks okay, try Expanded Towns and Cities. You can actually use this mod with the Dawn of series or the major cities version of JK's mod just fine. If you want horrendous additions that add no small amount of bullshit and surprisingly little content with broken navmeshes that nevertheless look cool as fuck, try this guy's city mods, plus Riften Thief Edition. Better docks, Windhelm Bridge Overhaul and, depending on what other mods you have and your computer specs, Solitude Docks District are all good additional mods to have on top of those. Unrelated, but are priests of the divines allowed to get married in the lore? Or is it a life long commitment with Akatosh or whoever? I'm uh, asking for a friend.
Deadly Mutilation makes Arena fighting so much more satisfying. Especially when you end a fight Mortal Kombat-style. I've finished off a foe exactly like this Freezing enemies with an ice crossbow never gets old either.
Would you guys be ok if I text-dumped my synopsis of Morrowind from the perspective of a person whose played all of these related games before playing Morrowind: TES 4 TES 5 FO 3 FO NV ?
Would you guys be ok if I text-dumped my synopsis of Morrowind from the perspective of a person whose played all of these related games before playing Morrowind: TES 4 TES 5 FO 3 FO NV ?
you should do it in video format as you play morrowind
you should do it in video format as you play morrowind
Oh god mate if I had I good mic setup I could run a podcast about Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and the FO games. But as of right now my mic setup consists of one turtle beach headset, and that's an awful recording device. And if I were to do it in video format I'd be a lot of naked argonian with 100 speed, agility, acrobatics, and athletics bouncing around Morrowind while I discuss the exploits you could do with the game. :v: [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] Ok change of plans. Would anybody be OK with me posting a video synopsis of Morrowind from the perspective of a person whose played all of these related games before playing Morrowind: TES 4 TES 5 FO 3 FO NV ?
Is it appropriate to request a character here? Trying to base my character off of something, but it looks ridiculously off.
Is it appropriate to request a character here? Trying to base my character off of something, but it looks ridiculously off.
If anyone is willing, go right ahead. I don't see a problem.
Guys I'm having trouble finding a mod. It's just a simple HD retexture of all the armor/shields. I remember the creator promoting the mod on facebook of all places, their online alias was some sort of pseudo-Nord thing starting F and it had two A's in a row somewhere in it. The guy working on it started with Iron Shield then went on to do the whole Iron armor set then decided to do all armors. [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] It was legit awesome looking 2k retextures too.

Oh wow I had the name waaaay off, but that's him and that's the mod I was talking about. Thanks for finding that, it's weird playing Skyrim with HD mods that apply to everything EXCEPT armor. [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] oh... [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] what the fuck dude

Also there are a fuck ton of other armor retexture mods you can use to fill the gaps, nothing is stopping you from mixing and matching different mods.
the problem is finding a mod that effectively does what he set out to do [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] i don't care if he abandoned the internet but a head's up would have been nice
I'd suggest Book of Silence for armour/weapon textures. I used it when I was playing a while ago, and it was a really high quality replacer for those textures.

Out of curiosity are their any mods that allow you to make money through trading alone for Skyrim or Oblivion?
Looks like Alduin has already been through here. [t]http://a.pomf.se/bakmfs.jpg[/t]
I'd love to see a TES rival some day, just for the sake of TES. I'm talking a head-on rival like the early days of CoD/MoH, stuff like that. Very similar gameplay, trying to better one another at every occasion. I would love that to happen because it would unable Beth to have that handwave mentality "Oh, we're gonna do it like this, it'll do" and motivate them not to fuck up, since the competition could better them on just that handwaved aspect. They would have to put a lot more effort into their games. Basically a friendly competition, and we as the consumers would benefit the most. The problem is that such a game would probably require immense amounts of marketing budget, to even be considered a potential rival for such an established franchise.
there is just nothing else that can really take the role of TES/fallout atm nothing where you can just say "fuck it" put on your hiking boots flip the bird at the main story and get enough play time out of wandering and side questing i've said it before iirc but mount&blade would be second i think
Maybe Witcher 3.
He means he want's like a legit clone of TES/Fallout, not just a RPG that is also open world. There are a lot of open world rpgs out there, but none match the freedom you have with TES. Not many games have such a big choice of side quests, character playstyles (for an rpg), and customization (both vanilla and via mods). Even the amount of interaction you have with random shit like cups and crumpled up pieces of paper is pretty much unparalleled.
part of the charm of tes/fallout is that it doesn't try to be realistic or immersive at all. Like some games have a longwinded fullbody animation for everything or in different situations. Like to climb up onto a rock your character may jump, grab on with both hands and pull themselves up. In skyrim (admittedly I haven't played oblivion or morrowind) or fallout, you're jumping up or running up the side of that sucker with the same animations that you would have as if you were jumping on top of a roof in whiterun or running through a cave. Or opening a chest to loot it, bethesda games just give you a dialogue box. Other games might have a brief animation of your dude opening the chest, or add it straight to your inventory. Far Cry 3/4 has a good example - if you want to heal your character pulls up their arm and pulls out a bullet or whatever. To heal in skyrim you just drink a whole bunch of potions or eat but with no animation (unless you mod it that way) It's open world and an rpg but it also feels a lot more sandboxy than other open world games. The lack of animations really is what makes it feel that way. or maybe im being weird.
I have yet to see anyone actually do an open world game, besides TES and FO, in 1st and 3rd person. All people ever make is 3rd person open world games, which are harder to get immersed in for me because I feel like I'm controlling the char, rather than being the char.

I try to avoid clone, since that is usually a negative word, but basically yeah it's what I meant. [editline]25th January 2015[/editline] Yeah, I can't name many games that nailed open world as well as TES.

We need Elder Scrolls/Fallout Killer
Mod Organizer is a horrible mod addiction enabler. I was checking what was taking up the most memory on my laptop[sp]WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE GAMES?[/sp], and my MO folder for Skyrim alone is 100 GB. i don't even use all of them i just have a few on standby because "I'm sure I'll make a character who needs this one day"
I can't find a stealth mod I like. I want npcs to be much more aware in general. I can pretty much walk up in front of people in the dark and they don't notice. They should at least hold torches if they can't see well enough.
If anyone is willing, go right ahead. I don't see a problem.
Okay, uh. Can anyone find any time to make the Elder Scrolls Online: Breton Knight from the cinematic trailer? Not the armor, of course, just the character.
boop
I went with these: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23353/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52239/? Will report on experience.
The one thing I really like from the TES/FO games is being able to manipulate and place objects. Like I really can't think of any other open world game (Besides like... Minecraft, I guess) I guess that allows you to decorate your home or lair or whatever with all the tacky shit you find. Plus being able to squirrel away any and all loot that you find is just so damn satisfying. Add to that the mod scene and it really does make me sad that there isn't any competitor that has those features too.
