Gotta love how the under review mods are mostly joke mods that are charged an insane amount of money.
My favorite has to be this one.
The imperial race remover one has to top it because it has such a fucking good zinger
Well, we got Chesko back at least. Disaster partly averted.
How much longer before this completely dies out, do you think?

Depends on how long Valve sticks with it, I'd say.
No matter the backlash, Steam is BIG, and as such has a lot of dumb people who'll support anything they do. I don't see it simply dying off on its own.

This is an interesting bit though.
Real-time update - I was just contacted by Valve's lawyer. He stated that they will not remove the content unless "legally compelled to do so", and that they will make the file visible only to currently paid users. I am beside myself with anger right now as they try to tell me what I can do with my own content. The copyright situation with Art of the Catch is shades of grey, but in Arissa 2.0's case, it's black and white; that's 100% mine and Griefmyst's work, and I should be able to dictate its distribution if I so choose. Unbelievable.

ROFLBURGER posted this in the SH thread. He could literally just post his mods to Nexus now with the South Park "We're Sorry" video as the description and I'd be just fine with that.
I wonder if what I said to him when he first started backpedaling and decided he'd start uploading to nexus again, on the Arissa page stuck with him at all.
"Chesko, if you wanted support why didn't you just put up a paypal?
Why would you put this here for everyone to see you as undignified, just for 25% take, that you have to make $100 to recieve?
The thing about deserving scorn is irrelevant since anyone supporting this system by being apart of it, still releasing for free or not, is deserving of it."

500 new posts, thought it was Elder Scrolls VI
turns out to be paid mods
:(
That thing about him and his Lawyer reminds me of the posts I posted the other night

Here he claims that they told him its okay to steal content without permission as long as it's not other content that's for sale

Is it true that the Nexus is profiting from this?
modders with lawyers? jesus christ what kind of world do we live in.
I meant the aforementioned VALVe lawyer that was assigned to his request.

"Free software licenses don't matter, so totally just ignore that license and make money off of it. Totally legal. Trust me, I'm a lawyer."

No wonder they've been deleting reuploads even though this poses danger to their site.

You can't send a husband and wife to jail for the same crime!

They're consider community contributors or whatever the jargon is; when you post the mod you can set it so that they get 5% of the profits.
I don't mind this too much tbh, it's hypocritical as hell but if I was in charge of the Nexus, refusing to deal with Steam is not how I'd protest either.
On a lighter note about modding, I get things working how I hope to, I think you guys will be enjoying new tactical options such as Great Bows, which are slower but hit harder and can use Great Arrows, or offense based shields that can cause debilitating effects on enemies, such as fatigue damage or bleeding.
He should have known
valve doesnt do returns

They sure as hell aren't at all protesting it with that fast response to deleting mod reuploads.

It's more like damage control. They don't want to risk legal action being levied against them because their site is hosting content without the permission of the owner.
Could you perhaps make a flail? I'm not knowledgeable about modding so I don't know if animating it would make it too difficult.
Anyway, I love what you are doing, keep it up!
A flail I don't think is possible with my level of skill but I will look into it. As a humble compromise however I hope it would be acceptable to you, for my mod to feature maces in a flail style (spiked ball)

This has about enough upvotes to start showing up on the first page of top all time posts in the gaming section

For a flail, you would probably need to contact the guy who made spears (for how to do weapon animations) and also the guys who make HDT (for physics). Way too much work for a weapon that's horribly impractical and may not even be possible in the game engine.
It's gonna be really awkward if the SkyUI guy isn't joking.
Besides support, almost everyone at bethesda plays with it.
The whole fucking thing is a mess.
I can't believe the lawyer for valve thought it was perfectly fine for them to upload shit that didn't belong to them.
Also, I can't get on the forums on steam community at all.

Steam is aborting it. All the frontline poster mods are gone.
it's hard to believe that everything was fine a couple days ago and now everything is super shit with valve, it's like they make one really really bad decision and it comes in like a fuckin turbo-typhoon homewrecker

They just hid the entire community forums as well.
oh now it's back.

Whatever they're doing, they're doing it in a hurry - the paid mods are still showing their prices before you try to view them, even.
If the paid system really is being aborted then holy shit this is too good to be true.
So... how about those console versions, eh?
I'd wait to hear some confirmation before celebrating personally.
